One word, WOW! I've walked by Eggies for years on my way to the beach. It's right in front of a breakfast place. This time I was with my daughter and on the way back she suggested we give it a try. How good can a breakfast sandwich be anyway! The answer, that good. It's a meal in a sandy! from the perfectly cooked bun to a nice gel like yoke to the perfect maple sausage patty. (Oh and I love their picante hot sauce.) We ate at the counter but next time, I'm grabbing and walking to Glazed for a dark coffee and perfect view.

The Eggies Classic was 5 stars! Perfect combination with an over medium egg, bacon and sausage. The sauce paired well and had a hint of spice. Service was good and some seating outside. Service was on point and definitely returning again when I'm craving a breakfast sandwich.

Got the Eggies Classic and it was delicious! Consisted of a brioche bun, medium egg, chipotle sauce, sausage and bacon. Order at the register and wait for your order to be called. Great option for a quick and easy breakfast!

I usually don't like breakfast sandwiches, but oh my GOSH did this one change my mind. I got the california sandwich. It had the most delicious sauce, was a great portion, affordable, and didn't feel greasy (like most breakfast sandwiches do in my opinion). The staff was lovely and really speedy with our order. I will 10000% be going back.

The good: I got the bacon sandwich, the classic sandwich, freshly squeezed Orange juice, salted caramel cold brew, churros and vanilla cold foam brew. I loved how the coffees had a single square giant ice cube made of coffee! Churros were my favorite food item from here. My food was all ready in a jiffy. Their packaging is premium. I liked the fun egg stickers, the cartoon egg bag and the mason jar that the hash came in. The bad: The hash was just wet and very strong in rosemary flavor. I preferred the mashed potato egg jars at other egg breakfast spots. The caramel churro dip didn't add much to the dish. The sandwiches were ok but were a bit too much for me. I thought the lettuce and breakfast sausage didn't go well together though I generally like veggies in every sandwich. The interesting: Their store is in a shipping container.

First time trying eggies. This is located next to republic breakfast. It's a little pop up. Parking is tough especially on weekends. There are only a couple tables. Close walk to the beach. My cousin recommended the California sandwich. It comes with avocado and arugula. The aioli was really good. They offer homemade ketchup and hot sauce but it's so good you won't need it. P.s. it can get messy eating the sandwich.

Made a quick pit stop for some breakfast. This was my first time trying eggies in San Diego and it was absolutely fantastic. The flavor was full and savory. It was the perfect "hangover" sandwich in my opinion. It was layered with a fried egg, avocado, bacon, a turkey sausage patty, arugula with an aioli dressing. This held me over for the whole day! Just to let you know, it is a stationary food truck vibe, with a few spots to sit.

What's a great place. I had the BLT and my daughter the chicken one! Very juice and tasty! The brioche Bread is also so good! My eggs was perfect cooked!

    Punctured finger from unsafe barstool
    Matt F.

Just simply awful. The counter person is rude and dismissive, the egg sandwiches were put together sloppily and was impossible to even pick up - a total mess. Finally, their metal bar stools had a sharp metal point on the underside of the seat which punctured my finger as I tried to pull it in. Forgot to add both sandwiches we ordered were not the ones we received. There's only four or five to choose from, so getting both orders wrong is kinda inexcusable. We ended up throwing both out. Total waste of time and money. DO NOT GO HERE.

Someone took a chunk out of my hash brown
    Vinny T.

Dark yolks so that's a plus, but man bacon was undercooked, sausage was undercooked, both pork meats were pink and in my egg, and my has brown looked like someone took a bite out of it. Trash was overflowing. Like no one here is properly doing their work.

Coffee cup has faces printed all around it with a fun die cut sleeve.

This cute little stand a block from the beach serves up hearty breakfast sandwiches to get you going for the day. They are part of the rise and shine restaurant group, so of course they have great graphic design, which includes a die cut coffee sleeve that allows you to play Luchador and pick your emotion (see photo). However, the coffee was inferior to that served at sister location, fig tree cafe. There was a nitro cold brew option I need to try. If they had hot cocoa, the coffee cups and Luchador sleeve would be great for kids. This is a walk up and pay when you order kind of a stand with limited outside seating, but we were greeted with a smile and my modification was well received. The hash browns are delicious. $2 for what you can buy at the store for 20 cents, but they are deep fried to perfection. The sandwich prices seem to be a little lower - maybe due to the competition a block down the street with similar sandwiches. They are now $10 each. The chicken on my rise and shine was a bit overdone with a super dark crunchy exterior, but the original eggies sandwich was perfect. Pro tip: ask for extra napkins before you bite in!

The low key vibe is perfect for a relaxing chill morning. The small menu shows the love of the items they serve. Not trying to be more than good food, great views, and awesome customer service.

The bartenders in front of us were clearly having a conversation and I didn't want to interrupt. My friend claimed her Irish coffee was sour? And didn't realize cheese came on a side of eggs (she should've checked when she ordered but the server never clarified either). We weren't checked on during the meal until the bill came and by then we just wanted to leave. I ordered the fluffy pancakes and found an egg shell inside. The cracking of eggshells in my mouth made me loose my appetite. We paid (still tipped of course) and left. It was great the first time and mediocre the second time. I prefer consistently in service, especially if I'm waiting an hour to be seated.

We had spent most of the day around Bankers Hill and decided to grab an early dinner at Books & Records. Getting reservations was easy, but from the moment we walked in, the ambiance alone already had us sold. The place was still pretty quiet when we arrived, and to our surprise it was happy hour, so naturally we ordered a bunch of items off the menu along with drinks. Everything was ridiculously good. Not one miss. What really stood out though was the attention to detail. The host brought us a complimentary glass of champagne after hearing we were celebrating our anniversary. Small gesture, big impact. Stuff like that matters. As the night went on, the restaurant filled up, live music started playing, and the whole atmosphere just came alive. Our waiter never rushed us once, which made the experience feel even more intentional and relaxed. We were able to actually enjoy the moment instead of feeling pushed through dinner service. Good food is one thing. Great hospitality is another. This place gave us both. Next time we're in San Diego, we're absolutely making it a point to come back. Lovely spot. Lovely experience.

So I am glad we decided to share the biscuits and gravy but let me run down each thing. Bloody Mary Flight: Honestly every single one was amazing. My favorite was definitely the pickle Mary! Everything tasted so delicious and was garnished beautifully. Well worth the 22 dollars. Biscuits and Gravy: Absolute perfection of comfort food. The biscuits were so fluffy and well seasoned. The gravy was also soooo good, just like my mom makes. The sausage in it was also cooked so well and juicy. I've never tried mashed potatoes with the biscuits and gravy but it worked very well! "Over medium" eggs came barely cooked, still had clear egg gel floating around. The table next to us had the same issue. The fried chicken, which is beautiful looking, was strangely flavorless. Another table was also talking about this issue. Bacon was way overcooked as well. I also really dislike when food timing for a table is way off. I rather it stay in the kitchen under a heat lamp and come together rather that spend 5 minutes staring at my food being polite. So, for a fun "wow that's a ton of food" experience this is it. But I much prefer quality ingredients and attention to detail and flavor over unfinishable portions at a premium price point ($100 after tip for 2 ppl).
