Pancake flight: cereal, Oreo, and cinnamon roll
    Delanie P.

Breakfast Republic is definitely a popular spot. The vibe is really fun with great music playing, making it a perfect brunch place. We ordered the pancake flight, which was awesome because we got to try three different flavors. They also have a ton of merch if you're into that, which adds to the whole experience. Service was friendly overall, but it did slow down toward the end. We ended up waiting about 15 minutes just to get our check, which was a little frustrating. Overall, it's a solid brunch spot with great energy and good food, just make sure you're not in a rush when you go.

Great experience coming here on a Saturday for brunch! Vibes are great. I ordered a breakfast burrito, which I have pretty high standards for, and unfortunately it wasn't anything amazing -- I'd order something else next time. I also wasn't a huge fan of the sauce it came with, it was quite vinegary. Server and hostess were both great and very communicative. Overall I'd give it a 3.5.

This place always slaps hard. Every time I'm in Pacific Beach I make a point to eat here for breakfast. This time once again it did not disappoint. We had the trio stuffed French toast, in the next day we have the Jill Achilles. The service was good. The ambience was chill as always. I'm looking forward to going back again.

We arrived early in the morning so the place was not yet busy but the bartender/wait staff Michelle was alone and politely asked us to give her a couple minutes. No worries. She sat us in a desirable location out of the way and quickly took our drink order. The place is cute and has a chicken and egg theme throughout. By the time we finished our meal the place was packed and you Could tell it was a local favorite. The food is the real star of the show. Fresh eggs, what looked to be homemade jam and breakfast potatoes to die for! It looks like the food is top notch and locally sourced. I don't know for sure but it was one of the best breakfasts ever! I had the American breakfast with eggs bacon and toast while my boys got the crab benedict, pancakes and my husband got the steak and eggs! We were all thoroughly impressed with the food, the service, and overall vibe! Michelle was a consummate professional and very kind. I would love to have this restaurant in my hometown so I could go there more often. This is a DO NOT MISS for BREAKFAST if staying in Mission Beach San Diego! Great way to end our last full day in San Diego on vacation! They have indoor and outdoor seating. It was a chilly day or we would have definitely sat outside!! Fully accessible and so happy we found this place!

This is my favorite Breakfast Republic location! Two blocks from the beach and across the street from a coffee shop, perfect spot. There's plenty of parking nearby and a lot behind the building. I always get the Chiliquiles but today I decided to go with something different and realized I have never reviewed this place! Today I got the protein omelet with vegan eggs (I have an egg intolerance) and my fiancee got the steak and eggs. She also got the OJ and I ordered a Jurassic Bloody Mary. My bloody Mary was divine, one of the best ones I've had. The perfect little spice! My omlet and potatoes were also fire! The potatoes were so yummy with rosemary too! My only qualm with the omlet was the lack of ham. My fiancees dish was also fantastic! The only draw back about this place is the wait, which what do you expect your right by the beach. But service can also be pretty spotty. Luckily today we got a great server named Michael!

This place was absolutely phenomenal!! The service was great and the food was delicious. The Ube Latte was probably the best coffee I've ever had!

My family and I chose to visit this location on a late Sunday morning. It's a Pretty popular location , and had a lot of people waiting to be seated. We were told there was a 20-30 min wait for our party of 5 and half , but literally we were called to be seated not even 5 mins after we had placed our name on the waiting list. We were placed by the front door in a large booth across from the bar. Our server was fast and friendly and our food came out quickly , fresh , hot and nicely plated/ presented. I ordered the *California breakfast burrito (eggs, potatoes , skirt steak, pico infused guacamole , bacon, cheddar cheese, Sour cream) which was accompanied by black beans and Mexican rice , and I also ordered an extra side of *bacon , *home fries and *two Jurassic Bloody Marys (the only difference I noticed from a regular Bloody Mary was that the Jurassic Bloody Mary is served with a slice a bacon in it ). Regardless, I really enjoyed their version of the Bloody Mary and i can understand why it's been voted #1 Bloody Mary in San Diego . I also seen they have a drink called a bloody Maria ( for all my tequila drinkers ). My best friend ordered the *shrimp and grits and Jurassic Bloody Mary . She said that she enjoyed her meal but said that she's been to a different location and said the food at the other location was prepared a lot better . One of my daughters and my god son ordered the *Oreo cookie pancakes . My daughter wasn't a huge fan of the pancakes but my God son swore by them. My other daughter ordered the *strawberry and mascarpone French toast, a side of bacon and a side of home fries, all 3 of them got the bottomless strawberry lemonade and said it was different but really good . they all took advantage of the "bottomless" and each had close to 4 refills on the lemonade by the time we left. One of my daughters said it tastes like the strawberry lemonade had sprite in it . We all sampled each other's meals and discussed what we felt about our choices. * California breakfast burrito : 8/10 * home fries : 4/10 * Shrimp and grits : 8/10 * Oreo cookie pancakes: 5/10 * strawberry and mascarpone French toast : 10/10 *Jurassic Bloody Mary : 10/10 , HIGHLY recommend lol *bottomless strawberry lemonade: 10/10 Restaurant was clean and nicely ran. Everyone was so polite, friendly and happily assisting each other. We had people who were not our server, randomly checking on us, refilling drinks , retrieving food and requested condiments. Including one of the managers , I believe his name was Jay or maybe Justin. Forgive me if I'm wrong on the name . But he was very professional and out helping and Checking on those dinning in . We enjoyed our visit at this location and would recommend anyone in the area looking for a good breakfast and definitely any Bloody Mary drink fans to give this place a try.

Breakfast Republic was one of the breakfast options within our immediate eyesight while walking alongside the beach. Customer service was fantastic! We were greeted immediately, the host gave us a 10-15 minute wait time, and once a table was ready our server greeted us and took our order within minutes of sitting. Our classic breakfast selections were prepared perfectly, I greatly appreciate the abundance of vegetables in my omelette. Breakfast Republic is perfect for large or small groups, with great photo opportunities all throughout the restaurant. All around great dining experience, I highly recommend!

A must when you're in the area!! Great vibe with good food. They have the cutest merchandise from hats (which I had to get) shirts, cups, etc Another must - French Toast Sampler which was served in the cutest platter. They have a nice selection of Benedicts as well. The bloody mary was a hit with hubby, the mule was just ok for me. Service was friendly, menu is big enough for all taste buds and the space offered an open feel with cute decor. Will definitely come back!!

    Shrimp & Grits

You can hate if ya want... but shoot I actually love me some shrimp & grits at breakfast republic! Throw some hot sauce on there and it's a certified bangah Legit my only complaint is that I inhale this bad boy wayyyy too fast

    Jurassic bloody mary!
    Evelyn B.

This morning me and my fiance came to get brunch, I had the steak and eggs and she had the protein omelet with a jurassic bloody Mary everything was cooked well and the service was amazing!! We loved the patio it was the perfect spot for us and our pup!! Be careful going on Tuesdays after 11 some of the parking becomes unavailable and they well tow your car however there is an attached lot you can get validated for up to two hours!!

Another great breakfast spot in San Diego... There seemed to be many chain locations of this! The place had a casual, BoHo, comfy vibe...and I liked it right away. I ordered this pancake Trio platter...which turned out to be HUGE!!! A giant version of what you'd get at Snooze A.M. back in Charlotte, NC. I thought the presentation could have been nicer though...bit sloppy. No matter, the pancakes were absolutely delicious. My husband got this Mexi-influenced plate (forgot the name), but he really enjoyed it as well. Again, the presentation was kinda bad...as in no effort. For the sloppy presentation, I must dock a star. If only the kitchen staff made just an ounce of effort into making these dishes look nicer, I would have been more than happy to drop 5 stars! Still, this place was really good! There are so many great breakfast places in San Diego... Please hurry and make your way to down south to Charlotte!

The PB location of Breakfast Republic replaced an establishment that was a popular drinking hole. Consequently, this Breakfast Republic has a much larger bar area than the other branches within the business chain. You can park in one of the numbered spots at the shared lot to the east of the building. Pay the meter for up to two hours and take the ticket inside to give to your server. They will then validate and deduct that amount from the check at the end of your meal. The take-out shack, Eggies, is attached to the front right part of the structure if you want to get some breakfast grub to go. I have generally enjoyed the food from my previous visits at some of their other locations in the SD area. This time I selected the Portuguese Linguisa Sausage Scramble. Three scrambled eggs were served with house potatoes and my choice of wheat toast. Linguisa, hot sauce, green bell pepper, garlic, tomato, thyme, and oregano were the other ingredients that were mixed in with the eggs. The scramble was tasty and had a nice bit of kick from the hot sauce. The service was mediocre as I have experienced better for a busy breakfast spot. What's more concerning is that this place has been closed down multiple times for various reasons... utility issues, failed health inspection, etc. These aspects lowered my rating of this Breakfast Republic to a three star level.

Does this restaurant take reservations? I have a big party coming into town.

Unfortunately we’re on a first come first serve basis and don’t accept reservations

We tried to go here today (Saturday) for breakfast at 9am and it was closed. Does anyone know what is going on?

My understanding is there are some permit issues so they were forced to close until resolved.

As soon as you walk in you're greeted by the friendly bar tender, and are instructed to take a seat anywhere you'd like. The menu is available via QR code, and you order both your food and drinks at the bar. At the time we came in there weren't many people, but a crowd started gathering after about 30 minutes or so, which was nice! Our food came out - with a decent amount of wait time - and it looked great! We ordered a couple of cocktails from the menu as well, which we got right away. I had gotten something similar to an Espresso Martini, but the drink fell short in both the taste and the presentation. My beer battered fish tacos were good, but nothing extraordinary. I believed they lacked a bit of taste...perhaps seasoning? The jam burger on the other hand, extremely juicy and flavorful! The fries were nice and crispy & seasoned. Overall, the food and drink were a bit inconsistent, but it may also very well be the items I ordered. For that, I'm docking it one star, but again it may come down to my taste buds and previous items I've had from other grills. I'd definitely give it a try, again, and keep exploring their menu.
