I was excited to try this restaurant since its soft launch and stopped in for dinner. Sat in the outdoor area at the hightop tables in front of the bar. Chose the hamburger with Gruyere, fried avocado, sauteed onion, shredded lettuce, chipotle aioli, brioche and fries. Enjoyed both!. The fries were a fun shape, sorry of like large Frito scoops. The waitress was super friendly and talked to us about what else they are planning on adding to the menu after the soft launch is over. The bar has at least three TVs that I noted and each was on a different sports channel. Looks like a nice place to catch a game. I recommend that everyone give The Jetty a try! read more

Let's start with all the positives. The staff! Everybody was super friendly and greeted me the minute I walked up. They checked in frequently after I have my food. Brought water for my dog. Really were just amazing. The wedge salad was really good. Generous portion. And they didn't crimp on toppings either. The seats are comfortable and it's nicely decorated The only thing I would have to say that was not 100% positive what the calamari. It just wasn't very crispy and it was very chewy. The side dip was nothing to write home about. I would definitely skip it if you're going especially at $18. It is OB so it's street parking. I went in the middle of the week in the middle of the day and was lucky enough to find parking. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Overall, definitely would go again. It's still their soft opening so maybe the calamari will improve once they have their real opening. I'm gonna check back and I'll let you know. read more

The Jetty is a great spot in Ocean Beach, especially if you're looking for a fun place to catch a game. I came here to watch the World Cup Final, and the atmosphere was great. I ordered The Burger, and it was juicy and flavorful. The fries were also very tasty. The staff were incredibly attentive, friendly, and made sure we always had what we needed. The Jetty is a new OB neighborhood bar and grill that has replaced the former Voltaire Beach House. They are currently in a soft opening phase for the remainder of this month. There was no prominent signage on the side or the marquee of the suite which made it difficult to identify while driving down the street. I noticed only a few on-site parking spaces were available in the shared lot to the west of the building. A small outdoor patio with canopy covered tables was to the left of the sidewalk hostess stand. The inside had seating around a central bar and mainly high-top tables scattered around the rest of the room. Eleven items were listed on the one-page soft launch menu. Choices ranged from appetizers to sandwiches to entrees. The last offering was my choice which was the Baby Back Ribs. Four pork rib bones were coated with BBQ sauce and served with coleslaw and fries. The spuds were cut like thick chips before frying. The cup of ketchup on the side came in handy as the fries needed to be dipped before consuming because of their thickness. The ribs were glazed well, however I found the meat to be overcooked. It didn't fall off the bone and was dry underneath the sauce. The coleslaw was not overly sweet and was a palate cleanser. Until the menu expands after the grand opening, I rated my initial dining experience at The Jetty with 3.5 stars. read more

We were driving home and saw this restaurant finally opened so we had to stop in! On a mission to watch the FIFA games, this was the perfect spot. Nothing better than a well-designed indoor/outdoor restaurant. We stumbled in during the soft opening. Although there is a limited menu, it was OUTSTANDING. The fries were something we never expected to love so much- best in OB! We got a burger and it was cooked to perfection. Our server and the staff were all kind and welcoming. OB is ready for the Jetty! Stopped by for their soft launch opening and my taste buds LAUNCHED out of this world. Our server Amy M. deserves hazard pay for being able to manage my friends and I. The chicken sandwich was so big it needed its own zip code. Fries were crispy and crunchy - but Amy informed us it's a BYOHM (bring-your-own honey mustard) establishment. Luckily there's a convenience store nearby. Word on the street is once they fully open the sauce selection will be expanding so that promise alone is enough to make me come back. Nachos were solid. Asked for beef on the side because my dogs wanted to try some, they loved it too. Great job to Amy & The Jetty team - this is exactly what Voltaire needed. Just had breakfast and it was delicious! The bartenders are friendly and I want to shout out Hope especially. The menu has improved a lot from the first couple weeks of being open, and as locals we can see ourselves coming back more often. They had multiple games on their tvs and if you want a tv switched, they'll do it for you! Everything all around has gotten a lot better and we totally recommend you give it a try :) read more

Burger was very thick and the fried avocado gave it an interesting texture. However we all agreed that the star here were the odd ball fries. We live a couple blocks away and were really excited to try the jetty for the first time with our dogs. The place looked great, beach bar atmosphere with a nice open layout and on the hottest weekend of the year seemed like a great choice. We sat down at the bar adjacent the sidewalk and were greeted by the bartender and handed menus. A minute or two later the bartender came back and asked if I had a shirt which I didn't (keep in mind it's 89° at the beach). She then told us the manager wants me to leave. Whoever he or she was didn't even have the professionalism (or courage) to come and talk to me about the shirt and their rules (which aren't posted anywhere) instead having the bartender do it for them. Really bummed because we were excited for a new option to eat not on Newport and dog friendly... unfortunately we won't be going back and won't be recommending it to anyone. I've been a bartender, a bar manager and a bar owner so I understand the industry... a piece of advice to any new bar and restaurant trying to open in a tightknit community like Ocean Beach... Don't do what that manager did and try to flex your authority and kick someone out without talking to them first... especially not if your restaurant is in Ocean Beach and the guy has "OB" tattooed on his leg... The place was dead maybe 10% capacity and whoever the manager is couldn't take two seconds to talk to us... such a shame read more

My wife and I live in O.B. We watched them remodel this place. Nicely done. Creates a great atmosphere. They have a good number items to select from on their menu. Plenty of sitting, both inside and outside. They staff was very friendly and attentive. Best part was the food. I had the fish and chips. Fish was fresh and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend! Food was fantastic, cocktails were really good made with fresh squeezed juice, and the vibe was perfect for a beautiful Saturday lunch. WOW!, what a transformation. Given the scandal surrounding the previous owner/ Voltaire Beach House you would not recognize this place. The renovation is fantastic but the food and service were beyond expectation. I had the "Special" of the day, a Roast Beef Sandwhich with an incredible tangy, sweet BBQ sauce. The food and ambience at this restaurant were exceptional. The space itself is nicely and comfortably laid out with a bar and outside tables. The servers were friendly and just the right mount of attentive. Our food was also delicious..very well prepared and tasty. I had the burger with Gruyère and freshly made (and light tasting) fries. The patty was grilled and just as I ordered it. My partner ordered a mile high beef sandwich. They did not skimp on the beef. I'd love to come back and try the ribs and slaw which the waitress recommended. We definitely will be returning. If you want casual and peaceful yet nice setting this is definitely a place to go. read more

I was excited to try this new spot in OB--and it did NOT disappoint! It's a beautiful atmosphere in there, with many great different seating areas (bar, tables by a fireplace, outdoors, tables in a beautiful lighted back area, etc.). The staff is super friendly & fun. The drinks are great: good selection of wine & beers, and some great creative mixed drinks (i love the "OB Jetty"). And the food is really good! The wings have a great flavor, the fries are something you won't find anywhere else, the fried cauliflower is excellent. Lots of great options. It's definitely gonna become a fun, popular, and delicious spot! read more
