    Chili cheese tater tots
    Rosie W.

Bare Back Grill is a decent spot. We tried the chili cheese tater tots, which were pretty solid and definitely filling. They also have $5 all-day mimosas, which is a nice deal if you're just looking for something casual. The vibe leans more toward a college crowd, so it can get a bit loud and busy depending on when you go. Overall, not bad for a quick, low-key hang, but probably not somewhere I'd go out of my way for.

Came here over the weekend with my husband and a couple of friends -- it gets pretty cold, so definitely bring a jacket if you'll be sitting outside! Everything was absolutely delicious. My husband devoured his food in under five minutes. The habanero fried chicken sandwich was fire -- super crispy and flavorful. The fries were perfectly crunchy and seasoned just right, and I loved the calamari with its sweet dipping sauce. Service could have been a little better, it took forever to get our tab to leave. We were waiting for quite a while before anyone came to check up on us. Overall, a good spot for a tasty lunch near the beach.

Usually go to raglan in OB but today we were in PB so we tried their oldest restaurant. Not crowded. Great service. Laid back. Great music and videos. This location has the most amazing deal for their 20th anniversary. Menu prices from 2005!!! Burgers for &11 on Thursdays!!! You CANNOT BEAT THIS . You're silly if you don't come here for this deal!!! My lamb smash today was out of this world and so was my husband's wagyu smash. We opted for the strawberry fields side salad for $1 more instead of fries. Nice to have that option

We popped in here quickly as we saw signage on the street advertising $3 Jell-O shots and $4 mimosas. It was pretty packed for a Saturday afternoon which was nice and lively. They are dog friendly, so many dogs everywhere! It looked like their menus after some really great burger options, and different specials throughout the week.

Not only is their food fantastic but they offer $4 mimosas. Honestly that's really all that needs to be said. However, I will add that the staff members (bartenders, waiters/waitresses, etc) are all very welcoming and accommodating. I typically come here for brunch with large groups and they always are great with us and they have seating to accommodate a few larger groups. I recently ordered the veggie burrito and added egg and my husband had the blunt burrito. Both were fantastic and paired well with the salsa given. I was quite impressed with the veggie burrito. Very filling, fresh, and just a great combo of veggies to make it taste great on its own. Would absolutely go back for the burritos alone, but again the $4 mimosas make it even better!

I have been talking about this place non stop and trying to find an equivalent in the Bay Area. We were in PB for a short trip and last minute decided to try this place...we're so glad we did. The place isn't too big, so seating can fill up quickly. The service is fantastic and quick. The food though, was so freaking good. From their wagyu smash burger to the dips for their fries, everything was delicious. Definitely on our "go to's" whenever we visit.

Haven't been back here in a minute but it never disappoints and the onion rings and ranch satisfied my craving. If you're around for the November "burger"//sando of the month, then 1000000% recommend the Thanksgiving flavors. On point. Side of gravy for dipping? C'mon... drool worthy.

Breakfast was outstanding. Steak cooked perfectly and actually had a good amount of flavor in comparison to other breakfast steak & eggs you usually get. Windows open letting in the fresh breeze. Great post workout spot.

I have been coming to this location for almost 10 years now. I am so glad to see it's still open for when I take vacation trips to San Diego. This location has great hour deals. Their staff is so sweet and always goes above and beyond to make sure that you have a great experience. This location is so easy to walk to from many hotels and that's probably why it can get little busy. They have the most delicious sangria I have ever tasted- a pairing of red wine with brandy and fall flavors. This is the perfect refreshing drink to kick off your vacation with. The tomato soup paired with a grilled cheese is another favorite. The naked tenders on happy hour are always delicious too and don't forget the sweet potato fries to round out any meal.

Such a great spot. Nice chill beach vibes. The waiter who served us was so friendly and accommodating. Ordered the steak and chips and it was soooo good! The fries are something I keep thinking about too because they were thin cut and seasoned to perfection. The steak was made perfectly medium rare too. Definitely a New Zealand spot to check out!

Another win in PB for our group, and looked like it was always busy too while we were in town. Just a small beer bar with a solid burger menu. A couple of us sat down right before the daily lunch special ended, and they so kindly allowed us to lock it in as time expired. It was a nice start to a long weekend. They don't have a lot of craft taps, but enough to provide some variety of styles/flavor/breweries. A couple kegs blew while we were there, so had to pick a couple other options. Variety is the spice of life! And, like any good beer bar, they have a cheap domestic available... in this case- Bud Light. Those who got lunch- we loved our burgers and fries. Can't beat $15 for waygu and wonderfully seasoned fries. Just a couple of people running the ship when we were there - both super nice. We even got a couple of additional recommendations for the area. Like many places around PB, they are dog-friendly as long as they are well-behaved. Definitely a great chill spot in the area!

Beach burger bar. Good food & reasonably priced. They do 4 mimosas on Saturday, all day if that is your thing. We popped in for a snack & was happy it was not overcrowded & service is very friendly. Added plus , they are pet friendly.

We had to last minute pivot to getting food here because our original restaurant was closed for renovations! We decided to come in because of the vibes and the cute Hallmark-like decor. Service: 3/5 Food: 3/5 Ambiance: 4/5 We ordered the Wellington meat loaf, meat pie and a smash burger. I personally liked my burger (but I guess it's hard to mess up a burger), but my friends thought theirs were just ok. The calamari dish was also mostly peppers and not that many calamari pieces LOL! The Wellington meat loaf was a bit dry, lacking seasoning while the fried onions were overly peppery. Overall a cute place to socialize, but definitely not a place that you'd come back to for the food. The server also did not check on us at all, and we were not able to get water refills.

Last year around this time we peeked our head in to see the space, but didn't stay. Located upstairs, the venue is large and well-lit, with windows overlooking Pacific Beach and the boardwalk. When we arrived, we were greeted by a local patron at the bar. He noticed my 49ers hat and made a joke about keeping me and the owner away from each other, because he is also a Niners fan. Immediately loved the vibes. There were a decent amount of people there for it being Christmas Eve, but it was still pretty open. We were seated at a long high-top table for our group of 7, with one kid. The restaurant was all decorated for the holidays, and they had a pop-up situation with some fun themed drinks and even a giant inflatable igloo for people to play in! We ordered a variety of beverages, many from the "Tinsel & Tides" menu, including the Candied Cranberry Punch, Maple Smoked Old Fashioned, and Spiced Peartini. All of which were fun, and received positive feedback on taste. In addition to the holiday drinks, they have quite an extensive list of around 14 cocktails, and 2 mocktails. The cocktail prices range from $15 - $18, and even have fun little photos on the menu next to the description. They have a section of 6 specialty margaritas, over a dozen canned beverage options, and over 2 dozen beverages on draft. You can find an entire page of wine options. From bubbles, to rosé, to whites and reds. You can buy it by the glass or the bottle. Beyond drinks, there's a nice looking food menu. Mostly seafood and Asian inspired, the menu featured items such as crispy calamari, crab Rangoon dip, ahi tuna poke, ceviche, sashimi, and various sushi rolls. There are several soup and salad options, as well as a dozen or so entree options, and a half dozen side dishes such as fries, coleslaw, veggies, and mac & cheese. There's also a brunch menu, which is available Saturday & Sunday from 9am - 2pm, and includes some boozy drink options like a Bloody Mary and bottomless mimosas. There are around 8 entree options, and another 8 or so brunch themed sides. While we didn't get to try the food this time around, the menu looked good enough that we are planning to come back for a legit meal. There is an "Oyster and Martini Wednesday" from 3pm to close, where oysters are 50% off, and martinis are $10. We happened to be there on a Wednesday, however the deal wasn't applicable due to the holiday. Our server, Destiny, was friendly and helpful with info and drink recommendations. The vibes were great here, and everybody was very welcoming. This is definitely a place we'll be adding to the regular rotation during our trips to PB! IG: @bbnem.eats

As I understand it, Moray's is the outside/patio dining portion, while Oceana is the indoor fine-dining situation. I believe they pretty much have very similar menus, with Oceana having some additional high-end offerings. Came out to Moray's to visit my cousin who was in town for work. Since my cousin now has her most adorable infant, she wanted to keep it simple and dine at the hotel restaurant, which was fine by me. While I waited for them to come down from their room, I got us a patio table and ordered a delicious $10 draft. Mixed drinks were all hovering around $19 each. The server was friendly, welcoming, and helpful, which I greatly appreciated. I went with the reasonably priced Steak Frites, $36, which was to stated to come with Muenster cheese and caramelized onions on top, and served with a side chimichurri. While the steak was wonderfully cooked to a solid med. rare as requested, it seemingly had very little flavor. Perhaps had it not been covered with a wealth of some DEEPLY caramelized onions and an abundance of Muenster cheese, I might have been able to taste the seasonings and/or the beef. While I love some deeply caramelized onions on a salt-laden burger, the extent to which these were caramelized left them seeming soggy and too sweet for the steak pairing. Add in the several slices of melted Muenster cheese on top, and flavourwise I could hardly tell I was eating a steak. Ultimately, the abundance of toppings overwhelmed the steak. The accompanying chimichurri was also a little strange. While I appreciate that it was diced and not blended, it was very heavy on the oil, while very light on the herbs. The frites were nicely salted and good on their own, however a decent amount became soggy from being under the steak. The burger on the other hand looked excellent. My cousin devoured his in what seemed like a split second. I could have went for the burger, however at $27 I perceived the $36 steak frites to be of a better value. Again, shout out to our server. They were on-point! Thanks Moray's!

I had gotten something similar to an Espresso Martini, but the drink fell short in both the taste and the presentation. My beer battered fish tacos were good, but nothing extraordinary. I believed they lacked a bit of taste...perhaps seasoning? The jam burger on the other hand, extremely juicy and flavorful! The fries were nice and crispy & seasoned. Overall, the food and drink were a bit inconsistent, but it may also very well be the items I ordered.
