This place was fantastic. All the staff are super friendly and definitely get to know their local clientele and friends of local clientele. My buddy lives just a few blocks from here and I was happy that we got to walk over here pretty much every day, which was really nice. They've got great food and good specials. Definitely the kind of place that you want in your neighborhood as your neighborhood hotspot. Was happy to come check it out. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Place is large but kept clean and maintained very well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Loads of seating inside and out, which is great with the weather that you have here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Just wrong! Unfriendly owner? [[HIGHLIGHT]]Just a local bar/restaurant for "their" group.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I felt unwelcome.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's definitely not for the younger crowd. It's more adult and over 50.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

My husband and I were looking for a Chill Spot to spend her New Year's Eve and stumbled upon this place. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Excited to find pool tables and randomly running into our new neighbors, this spot became a really fun Perfect Chill New Year's Eve 5.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I guess sometimes they have live music which I'll definitely come back to experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Pool was free to play that night, but is also free every wednesday![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service is very fast and nice. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bar is also dog friendly! So we will definitely bring our dog next time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

We had a great Easter Sunday here with a nice bottle of wine, and we'd really like to express our appreciation for the service that we received from Josh and Jason (the security guard). They kept the vibes going and provided awesome hospitality! Thank you both so much for your amazing service. Highly recommend - check this place out! Eric and Brittny Tims

One of the 2 niners bars that I go to in San Diego. They have game day deals and pass out Jell-O shots whenever the niners get a touchdown. The establishment has patio dining that is dog friendly so I'll usually sit there during the niner game with my hubby and doggo. The food is tasty- your usual bar/pub items and the servers are always friendly. Decent amount of seating inside and out with a ton of TVs for game day. Definitely check it out especially if you are a niners fan.

This place is like right in the heart of Ocean Beach. But definitely a fun spot. They're pet friendly for you to bring your dog to eat outside on the patio. The prices are really good. The food is really good! There's also other spots close by you could explore as well. They also have a couple pool tables. Good amount of seating inside and out on the patio. Parking is available out along the street. But this is a good area for a walk around as well. But if your in this area I would definitely check out Northside Tavern.

    So cool.

Working our way to Mike Hess and City Tacos in OB, we stopped for a pitstop at Northside Tavern. Super chill, dog-friendly bar. A few pool tables, tons of TVs and a great patio. The last couple of times we've been to Northside they've seemed to be understaffed. On this Saturday afternoon there was one bartender working. She was bartender, table busser, food runner and server all at once. We patiently waited at the bar to order drinks while she ran around taking care of business. Just one and done. Hunger started setting in. While Northside Tavern food is really good, we already had designs on City Tacos.

Great place in OB. Positives: good happy hour. Staff super friendly. Dog friendly in the patio. Cons: smoking on the patio. I got the blue cheese and bacon burger with tots. Probably the best tots on SD. Crispy. You can hear the crunch when you take a bite. Would definitely go back.

Out of towners for a Thursday night football game- fun vibes, dog friendly! Chicken tenders were huge and lightly breaded, good but nothing special! Bacon cheeseburger was full of bacon and all the goodies! With secret sauce. Fries were nice and crunchy! It was good bar food! It's a fun place for a game or happy hour!

Once I order a combo, she suddenly remembers she's out of everything besides curly fries which was annoying. They then stick a piece of duct tape on their menu (?) which looked trashy but also confusing because you couldn't tell why it was there it the first place. They were out of all sodas and only had water, brisk tea, and Dr. Pepper available. Looks like no one was prepared for the weekend... The curly fries were sad and gross. It was pretty much just the left over curly fries as it was just an order of broken off pieces that you usually find at the bottom of a frozen food bag. On top of the that, the fries were fried in old oil. Burgers were ok. Not filling for the price that they are told for. The sauces are awesome but that's about it. Our food took forever to come out and I am once justified for avoiding businesses with teenagers manning it like the plague.

And this review is after that experience, so we can compare and contrast things like pricing and quality. When you come here you must bring a loaded wallet. To try a sour beer or any of their Russian River beers, (which was a surprise to us that there even was beer coming out of Russian River, a place I love for wine) .... is $19 for a bottle. And if you've never tried a sour beer and no one likes it, there are no returns. You pay your money and you take your chances. They are creative at The Joint. I mean an eel roll with macadamia nuts is a brilliant twist on sushi. The second thing we try is their soft shell crab roll. Delicious. Everyone at the table 'seconds' these comments. I ask someone on the way in, seated at a table eating sushi if it is good. He says: "I'll let you know". Later, he comes back to our table to let me yes! It's really good". So is this a good place to go for Sushi? The answer is yes. Is it a little confusing as an asian fusion place to have so many diverse choices? The answer is yes, but I also admit I do like all the options. Again, they call their Happy Hour food 'Tapas'. Is that Spanish, or is it just me? Japanese fried chicken or an arugula salad or oysters? lol Your taste buds must travel all over the place and that's hard on the palate and my headspace of 'what am I eating'? Is it overpriced? The answer is yes! And if I'm being honest, it surprises me that no one else on yelp is mentioning this. If money is not an issue and you want good sushi, our group recommends trying The Joint. Just don't count on happy hour having happy prices. $4 for an oyster is not happy! It's regular priced. Maybe even over priced for a happy hour menu where oysters come in at $1 and $2 for happy hour. And today, they are all out of oysters. lol We usually just tell you what to order when you go to a restaurant. This is the first time we have felt the need to let you know what you're in for, price wise. Sorry to the wonderful staff and great chef. No idea why they need to represent themselves as 'happy hour noon - 6pm every day', leading me to believe there is good pricing. But it's not my zoo, not my monkeys. We waited about 25 minutes for a table. We could've sat at the railing seating or at the bar sooner, but a table seemed like a nicer option. So once we were seated, Brynna helped us. M. got the $11 Pork Rib Burrito special and I got the hot honey chicken sandwich w/ a $2 added amount of Mac & cheese. I also added a Pacifico to my order. The food came out quickly & we tucked in immediately. My chicken sandwich was delicious. It had a ton of pickles on it which I loved and the Cole slaw was the perfect additional topping. It also came with lettuce, tomato & raw red onion which I could have done without because it didn't really do anything to enhance the sandwich. The Mac n' cheese was a very generous portion for $2. It was fine - not the best but certainly not the worst. M. enjoyed his burrito. He said the pork rib tips were flavorful & juicy. He also got a sloppy Joe to go, which he is busy eating as I write this, and he is just making, "mmmmmmm" noises which leads me to believe that he is a fan. The prices here are very reasonable, the ambiance is fun & casual & the folks who work here are friendly. They've got a full bar, clean bathrooms & plenty of food options including vegan options & a special menu for dogs! There is street parking only which can be tough on Farmer's market Wednesdays and weekends. Peace.
