Came in to listen to a few friends thats was playing at Good Bar. That at 1872 Rosecrans St, San Diego, CA 92106. Really nice place didnt get there in time to try there food. Staff was polite and professional they made you feel like you were welcome . I did get a coke soda since I do not drink. Would I recommend them yes . And o be back again some time want to try there food. Its a really nice bar . So if you never been should stopped bye and try them. 5 stars great job they go above and beyond
Had no idea this is a dedicated Eagles bar, but thank goodness we weren't rooting for the opposition when we wandered into this space full of kelly green and organized rounds of "Fly, Eagles Fly!" at every commercial break! Note: the loyalty is so strong that despite multiple TVs, NO OTHER GAME will be shown when Philadelphia is playing. While awesome for the fandom, it's not ideal for a neutral observer. Order at the bar, and your food will be brought to your table when it's ready. As you might expect, Philly cheesesteaks are the right call here - our Aristocrat Cheesesteak (rib eye steak, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, provolone cheese, served on an Amoroso roll) was hearty enough to split in two since we were only snacking rather than looking for a full meal, and very tasty. Unfortunately, our Mini Churros were served without the advertised cajeta (Mexican-style caramel) with no explanation. It was only when we ourselves brought it up that we were then told the kitchen was out. To Goodbar's credit, they did remove the churros from our bill as we wouldn't have ordered them had we known beforehand.
I had just finished attending an event, and they had these little appetizers. I didn't want to gorge myself because than people would talk...LOL! So I was still hungry, and since I was in the area, my first thought was the Goodbar Kitchen! I was lucky to get a space in their shared parking lot. I ordered the Goodburger with bacon, and it came with fries. This is a good burger! It really hit the spot! Friendly service! So glad there are places like this to grab some good food!
This is a good cheap option in the area especially during happy hour. The food is just okay, but good for a happy hour price of less than ten dollars. The service was good and helpful. It's a good bar for live music, trivia and catching a game.
Went here for the ASU Baylor game... WHAT A NIGHT!!! We used to go to The Local downtown to watch ASU but wanted to go somewhere more cost effective and are incredibly happy for that decision. Awesome friendly and fun bartender, we got there right before kickoff and he immediately turned the volume on. We sat at the bar and more fans started to trickle in. During halftime we went over to a table of fans and started chatting.. turns out one of the guys is an ASU legend!!!!! He made the game winning interception against Harbaugh in the 1987 rose bowl, is really nice, and let me wear his ring and take pictures! I guess that's not a direct review of Goodbar but it speaks to the crowd they attract. The ambiance is great, you can order food at the bar and their food truck is just outside. It's also an Eagles bar so if you're an Eagles fan this is the spot.
I actually really like this bar. Was my first time here. Place is small but quaint. I will say that Britney was a sweetheart. She's a good bartender. Service was good, food was very good. Just great place and great bar overall! They have a really good happy hour. If you're outside and you go up to the food truck and you're attempting to order food thats on their happy hour menu you won't get the same price as if you order inside when you do the happy hour options for food. Just a word of advice. Parking is the only I'd day that is going to be a small pain. But this place is worth visiting.
TL;DR: inattentive and understaffed. Servers tried their best but couldn't keep up with the dinner rush. Was budgeting an hour for our meal. Ended up staying for 2.5 because we couldn't get food fast enough Took 30 min just to get our order in and because of that, we missed the end of happy hour. Really disappointing how service isn't staffed accordingly. The food is above average for a food truck/parking lot kitchen...which isn't saying too much. Ordered: - Goodbar burger (2.5/5): average. Nothing special - Chicken burger (4/5): caught off guard by this one. Far better than the regular burger. Good deals on drinks if you can catch the waitstaff before HH ends... Anyway, might be back for the drinks and to hang with locals and listen to live band. Won't be back for the food or service.
Welcome to good burger, home of the good burger, can I take your order?? Throwback to my 90s people. All joking aside, my wife took me here for a Yelp event, so I wanted to try their burger for myself. This little bar in Point Loma has a very small parking lot that it shares with a few other stores. Good luck finding parking! We came here around 2pm on a weekday and there was plenty of seating. Around 10 seats at the bar and maybe 10 small tables. The bartender/waitress seated us and took our orders. She was very friendly and checked on us regularly. They have a happy hour menu but it's only from 12-6p for beers and 2-6pm for food. They don't have a kitchen inside the bar, just a bar and bathroom. They do their cooking outside via a food truck. Food came out quickly, but we were only 2 of 7 people in the place. The burger was a little too charred, but overall it was tasty. It wasn't a great burger, but it was definitely a good one. The fries were a mix of soggy and crispy. For the price we paid, I can't complain. It's definitely a good burger for the price. I would recommend this place.
Food Don't seek yourself short, Good Bar, you are a great bar! The food was delicious for a bar. The burger was juicy and cooked to medium rare, how I prefer. The cheesesteak was packed with meat that it masked the onions! The fries were well seasoned and crispy. No complaints here. The best part is their happy hour! It goes on from 12p-6p, even on weekends. The Pilsner was strong for what it is but still smooth. I'd say the draft menu was small though and majority pale ales. The well drinks were great as well! Service Bartender was very welcoming and nice. She greeted up promptly and had our drinks out quick! She even checked up on us to see if we needed any refills and to pick up our empty plates! Atmosphere Quaint corner spot in Point Loma. Chill vibes, even during Saturday happy hour. Clean tables, plenty of different games going on the television. Music is not too loud. They host events like trivia and karaoke.
Cool bar away from the hustle and bustle of Liberty Square. The service is friendly and quick. You can sit at the bar in the back where a lot of locals do. There are also bar tops and table seating. The stage is small and they offer a variety of entertainment. When we went, there wasn't a cover charge. We ordered the hamburger and it was really good. The kitchen is a food truck in the parking lot, but you order through your wait staff and it is delivered to your table. It's located in a small strip mall with parking. It lives up to its name - a good bar!
Stopped by on a weekday early evening... honestly didn't realize it was an actual bar n it was getting pretty busy inside lol, we just came for the food! Haha. The food truck is situated right in front of the bar, and there are several tables outside. Obviously very casual dining. We ordered at the truck window and our food was ready in about 15 minutes. We were seated at one of the tables and they were nice enough to go out of the way to bring the food and condiments out to us. Overall the food was good, fresh, and filling. Amongst other things, I ordered a salad and it was plated so nicely! Hmm what more can I say about the food? The chicken strips were large pcs and juicy. Fries were seasoned well and crispy. Wings were typical.. burger/philly were satisfying. Limited parking.
Burger and fries for 10 bucks during happy hour. It's the bomb! The salad is also amazing ! Won't disappoint!
Gotta love a good happy hour special. Goodbar has got my number with their $8 burger and fries special. That burger is Hella good and an excellent value, especially considering the area. The place has a fun vibe, seems like they have live music a lot of nights of the week. We've only been there during twice during happy hour, so the music was just getting started. The draft beer selection leaves a little something to be desired. It's just not really my taste. I do enjoy the Bay City blonde that they have on tap though.

Came for the wings on a Monday night. I wasn't impressed pulling up. And had an even more pessimistic feeling when I saw that their kitchen was a food truck, which in my opinion are great for sandwiches and fries. I was blown away at just how great these wings are. Compared to the rest of San Diego. Definitely one of the better ones I've had. And it's only 1.50 on Mondays if you order in. I ordered 15 wings. They come in orders of 5 meaning, you get to pick one sauce for every five wings. No mixing and matching if it's not in multiples of five. So if you order 8, you only get to pick one sauce. Order 10, you can pick two sauces. I went with the sweet Thai chili sauce, an oaksteak dry rub and a spicy habanero. Those were my favorites in that order. The habanero wasn't really that spicy. The dry rub was great for about five, anymore than that and I feel like it would have gotten too salty for me. It was a super slow Monday. About 7 people were in there and they were all at the bar. Seems to me they were locals. Me and my homie were at the back table chilling, chatting and watching tv. They also had a pool table available which was free, at least on Mondays they are free. They have karaoke on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We had a few beers. About 12 on tap and a full bar available. They also have other food available to eat such as cheesesteaks, burgers and other finger food and salads etc. they have happy hour deals for 11 bucks. Different days have different deals. Same goes for the drinks. Parking was minimum. It's in a small corner plaza and shares it with 4 other businesses. Maybe like 15 spots inside the park plaza. Plenty of street parking on the side streets. read more

A great bar for drinks and a burger. Came across this spot to have lunch with friends and it was pretty tasty. The fries and seasoned and cooked perfectly, no sogginess. The burger was seasoned and the sweet bun is the perfect touch. It was juicy, not bland at all. This place looks like it gets down on the evenings possibly a live band since we there was a small stage up front. Shoutout to our waitress who took care of us and gave us that military discount. You da MVP girl! Will be back for sure. read more

Goodbar is a hideaway, certainly, tucked away in a shabby minimall at the intersection of Rosecrans and Oliphant, in Point Loma. How had I missed its presence before? My first visit to Goodbar was on August 1st, my Mother's borthday, who was born in 1928 in Point Loma inside of a house on McCall Street in La Playa. Robyn took care of me at the bar. Her manner was gracious and she made me feel most welcome. I chatted with a number of prople at the bar, most of whom appeared to be "locals". As a Portuguese man, I wanted to try the Fish Tacos by Tony Gomes. I enjoyed them very much. The food truck permanently out front, which appears to serve as the Good Bar's Kitchen, is a bit awkward and has a hulking presence. read more

Stopped in here for a quick lunch and after a quick search for good places to eat. Located in a shopping plaza that's easily identifiable from the other stores. Wasn't too busy once we arrived but the lunch crowd did start rolling in later. Lots of open space to where you don't feel cramped not too dark in the establishment either. I order the classic cheesesteak with fries and the Old Way Mai Tai. The food came out hot and tasty and the drink was perfect. The waitress was very active and always checked in on us. A great place to visit if you're in the area and need a quick bite. read more
A neighborhood bar with a crowd of regulars, which has a little bit of a cheers vibe. They have a nice selection which includes cider on tap, which is what I will frequently opt for (so brownie points here). A fun guy named Braden runs the Karaoke. There is a permanent food truck in the parking lot to make up for the lack of an interior kitchen. The menu offers an assortment of wings (of which I recommend the lemon pepper), some greasy sandwiches and a nice salad. Limited parking, but the small lot is much better than no lot. You might get lucky and snag an off street spot because much of the crowd is local and walk over. Don't expect anything fancy. The food comes on compostable paper plates, the outside seats are simply a counter of unfinshed wood, and the interior is dark. But if you are looking for a basic bar, they have some extras making it worth considering. read more

I was invited out for a bit to eat after an work event and mehn I'm happy I decided to join them. Parking can be a bit tight if it's busy. We sat at the high tops and scanned the QR codes. Wasn't feeling beer so we got printed menus and ordered some drinks. We ordered burgers and cheesesteaks and dived right in. I usually cut my burger in half but that wasn't necessary today. I enjoyed every bite especially since I added sautéed onions. The fries were just perfection. Our server was super attentive even though she had a crowd at the bar. This is a nice little spot outside of liberty station. I would go back if in the area. read more

Late Friday afternoon we decided to find a place to eat near Point Loma and found this place on Yelp with 4.5 stars. So glad we decided to check it out because the burgers were SO good! Service was great too! Becca was very friendly and attentive. We went up to the food truck to order and they told us that it's happy hour! So we took advantage of the discount and ordered two goodburger and one chicken sandwich. Everything from the protein to the bun was so tasty! Honestly we all could have had seconds but the free churros in the end filled us up! Highly recommend this place! read more

Some serious grub comes out of the kitchen/trailer at Good Bar! Becky and I decided to check it out on a Sunday afternoon. We thought we'd post up to the bar for some grub and watch the Padres game. When traveling west on Rosecrans St., Good Bar doesn't exactly jump out at you. It is a hidden little gem in the corner of a nondescript strip mall. It is easier to look for the giant yellow roof of the doghouse shaped Wienerschnitzel next door at the Rosecrans/Oliphant intersection. That is what we did and parked behind the doghouse. There is also a small lot out front. We walked by Adalberto's Mexican Food which faces Rosecrans and found Good Bar behind it tucked in the corner. Right out front is their trailer/kitchen were all of the magic happens. Upon entering the bar we were greeted by Robyn who was flying solo behind the bar. There were several people at the bar, a few couples scattered throughout the rest of the bar and a few folks out front on the patio. Becky and I found a two-top against the wall. Robyn was admirably taking superb care of all of us. She even found time to put the Padres game on a couple of the TVs for me. It really helps Robyn out if you the channel you want (Good Bar has DirecTV). Good Bar has a great beer tap list, but sadly for Bex no seltzers on tap. They did have Budweiser seltzers in cans which isn't ideal, but serviceable. So she went with that. I chose a pint of Good Bar Blonde brewed by Latitude 33. Bex ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad as a wrap and added bacon. I ordered the Aristocrat Cheesesteak. Becky who is not particularly a wrap fan, loved this wrap. The lettuce was fresh, the chicken was juicy, flavorful and plentiful. The added bacon was crispy, tasty and also plentiful. It was well constructed and wrapped as tightly as possible given its girth. It was a fatty. It was all Bex could do to finish half of it. I had the other half for lunch at work the following day. The wrap didn't keep well and was icky by lunchtime on Monday. The innards were fine though. I dumped them onto a plate and enjoyed a delightful Caesar salad for lunch. The Aristocrat was outstanding. Thinly sliced rib-eye steak, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, melted Provolone all nestled in a fantastic Amoroso roll. It was the perfect size sandwich. Very well constructed as well. It didn't fall apart. The steak was fabulous. Grilled perfectly and full of flavor. There were absolutely no gristly or chewy bits. High quality beef in every bite. The mushrooms were so good in this sandwich, seasoned just right. The cheese was melted throughout. The Amoroso roll was buttery and delicious. It wasn't too "bready". Perfect filling to bread ratio. Damn good sandwich! The fries served with it were outstanding as well. Hot and crispy. Damn good fries! Thanks to Robyn our barkeep for the A-plus service and of course thanks go to the dude in the kitchen killin' it on the flat top! read more

Stick with me on this one- you know your college bar. The one that just feels like home. Maybe the floors are a little sticky and maybe you'll lose your voice singing along to an old favorite. But your best memories come from that bar and every time you walk into it or even think about it, you're hit with a wave of nostalgia. Even though I was walking into Goodbar for the first time, it felt like that bar. The crowd wasn't college somethings, but instead a wide variety of locals all having a great time at their neighborhood bar. The bartenders were super friendly and everyone at the bar was sitting, chatting, singing and having a great time. They had a band playing that was super fun too. Outside, there's a food truck where you can order some delicious food. The fried fish sandwich was amazing and my husband really enjoyed his burger. This is definitely not your average bar food. When we finally left, we couldn't get over what seriously good vibes this place had. read more
