Came across this coffee shop while in Ocean Beach and I'm so glad I did! It's such a cute and spacious coffee spot with a really welcoming atmosphere. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They had a fall menu, and of course I had to try their classic PSL. It was SO good! This is what I call an actual coffee, unlike some of the overly sugary PSLs out there. They use real pumpkin puree, and it paired perfectly with the espresso. You can really taste the coffee! Their beans are roasted in-house, which is always a plus. Pros: lots of space to sit and do work indoors, pretty friendly staff, nice back patio Cons: there are no prices listed anywhere, and my very average tasting matcha came out to $11.25!!? I ordered the seasonal strawberry matcha latte which comes with strawberry puree and a cold foam. I've had many matchas in my life, good and bad, and this is the most expensive one I've ever encountered. I ordered my matcha with oat milk which I'm used to paying a bit extra for, and I asked if I could get the dairy cold foam replaced with their coconut cold foam (which I saw as a topping offered on a different drink) Somehow these 2 modifications added around $4 to my drink's total cost. When the matcha came out, I couldn't see much, if any, strawberry puree, and there was a light drizzle of the $2 coconut cold foam. I probably should have said something in the moment, but alas, hindsight is always 20/20. For this price point, I would expect something groundbreaking. I also don't think anyone should be charged to replace a cold foam with a different type of cold foam. Many other coffee shops offer generous portions of cold foam and strawberry puree in the same exact drink format for less. I would have loved to give this place a higher rating, but the price and average flavor of the matcha latte was shocking. I'd love to see prices on the menu too so I can at least know what I am getting into. read more

I ordered a vanilla iced latte with oat milk. I realized after the first sip my latte had that horrible sour taste. I couldn't drink it so I explained how it tasted to the barista and she was very kind and let me try the caramel sea salt cold brew. It was still very sour but drinkable. I was really looking forward to trying the espresso here but it was honestly okay for me. I got an iced americano and to be quite honest, it tasted very acidic and almost soapy at the same time. I haven't been here in years and the last time I went with my friend, I believe in 2020- I remember it was enjoyable and the workers mentioned there was no more stamp card usage (as in they've never seen it before in their life). Today I came with my brother. The interior was very spacious, although compared to last time there were a few tables missing from the interior. They are very dog friendly-- so many dogs were in there. But the owners were very aware of their pets so there were no fighting luckily. The workers (3 of them) were kind as well. I ordered an Iced Lavender Latte with Whole Milk (to go). It was quite milky, light, and the lavender flavor was very minimal. The syrup was $1 extra which I think is kind of wild especially if you can't taste it in the drink. Usually it's .50 or .75 additional. My brother ordered an Iced Matcha Latte with alternative milk (+ $1). The worker mentioned it comes presweetened. My brother said the drink was pretty milky as well. Overall, our drinks were milky and I don't think we will be coming back or recommending it to others as we used to. But who knows, they could have a drink you might enjoy so give it a try once and see what you think. They had a big menu and some drink specials, pastries, bagels, etc. read more

They have a huge interior space with plenty of areas to post up and study or catch up with friends. They have the standard variety of drinks, but what stands out are their breakfast items. Desperado Bagels can be purchased at OB Beans. They make breakfast sandwiches with them and also sell the bagels on their own. After seeing all the hype about them, I bought a half dozen ($20). I'm a little surprised by the hype around these bagels. They were okay. They molded almost instantly (within a day of me purchasing them). I feel like I have to give them another chance, because they recently scored really high on the San Diego Mag taste testing, but I was really surprised and almost felt like I had gotten duped and just gotten some random ones. read more

Stopped into this coffee shop after a day at Fiesta Island with the dogs. I specifically looked for a place with house made syrups, which is quite hard to find! But I saw a review where they make all their syrups in-house, so I thought I'd check it out for myself to make sure. There were several coffee places within the area. The interior was very spacious with lots of room for me and my dog to walk through. The employee working there today was very naturally friendly and told me all of their syrups were made in-house. There were several special drinks that looked good, but I went with a hot lavender latte to try their syrup. The drink was good and not sweet at all, which I liked (I usually say half sweet but I didn't, just to see how they made it since house-made syrups are usually less sweet). You could taste a subtle hint of lavender, but it wasn't overwhelming at all. I also liked that the drink didn't taste too milky. I look forward to coming back to trying another drink! read more
