    Smoothie

Sadly, this smoothie was terrible. Very watery and full of ice chips. No flavor at all

I visited Java Earth Coffee with my friend on a Sunday afternoon. The street by the building was crowded, so we just parked a couple of blocks away & walked over. The cafe was crowded & had a line when we arrived. I ordered their #12 smoothie while my friend got their banana cream top matcha. I appreciated the lively atmosphere of the cafe, & loved that its location is only a short walk to the beach--my friend & I headed over to the beach with our drinks afterward. I enjoyed my smoothie, but I would most likely reconsider visiting again if there's a line.

My review is purely for 1 specific item as I don't drink coffee. However, coffee shops always have tasty breakfast items and I honestly think this is one of the best breakfast bites I've had in years. The place was super packed with a line out the door but service was relatively quick and the workers were all smiling. All the outdoor seats were taken, so they must have other awesome items to order and I would happily wait in line for the coconut square every single time. Small interior but kept clean and price is great.

Service was very fast, delicious coffee and smoothie, parking is easy, and lots of seating inside and outside

The coffee was decent. I got a cappuccino that was very foamy on top, so I'll get the latte next time for more blended/integrated taste profile. Tons of seating outside. Tables inside fill up fast which is the main downside.

    Lox Bagel

I ordered the 16oz iced brown sugar cinnamon latte and added maple syrup and an extra shot of espresso . 8/10 for the latte. It was really good and not too sweet however the coffee flavor could've been stronger. I also had the lox bagel which was phenomenal. It came in a big portion, great for splitting if you want a smaller breakfast. The salmon was fresh and the veggies on top even fresher. The pickled onions added a great touch! The service here is great! The staff were friendly and the order came out quick, even though it was pretty busy. This place has a great airy atmosphere which is great for a quick breakfast or a study day.

Love this place, such a cute local spot. The place is very bright with lots of windows giving plenty of natural light and they have a decent amount of seating (inside and outside). The service is amazing and the coffee is amazing. I got a Cali bowl and a regular latte. I wish there was some seasoning on the bowl, however, I added my own salt and pepper which definitely elevated the bowl. The latte was amazing and the staff was super sweet.

the vanilla latte was very very sweet but the cookie butter latte was surprisingly less sweet compared to it. they also had a larger size for the drinks and food too. expect a wait on the weekends but it moved fairly quickly

Dropped by with a friend while on a walk down Cass. The place was busy and we were lucky to grab a table because someone was getting up. It looks like people stay and sit so seats are hard to come by. Once inside it's calm and cute. Ladies behind the counter are sweet. Good choices on the menu. There was no line dispute it being so busy outside. Coffee was ok. Not strong and nothing out of the ordinary. I usually have the lavender coffee and it is good, just a bit sweet. I wasn't wanting anything sweet today so just had plain coffee and that's what it was, plain. Pastries liked great but didn't try any, maybe next time.

    Mmmm this matcha!
    Julz G.

The best matcha! Definitely going to give a try to some of the other delicious looking things here :)

Banana bread and brown sugar latte

I got the brown sugar iced latte! It was great, I really enjoyed it. My friends got the matcha, which was also good, but we collectively agreed their coffee was better. I also got their banana bread because I saw some reviews raving about it. It was good, definitely more "cakey" than a traditional banana bread. Super cute shop with good seating and quick service. Overall a 7/10 and cute place to stop by for a weekend coffee :)

Banana cream matcha and strawberry matcha

This is the best matcha I have ever tried! I requested to have it made with oat milk and they kindly informed me that it already is which I think was wonderful. The place is so cute and had a good amount of seating. Parking was okay but not horrible! 10/10 would recommend! :)

There were still lots of people having brunch and enjoying their bagels. I ordered the bacon, egg and cheese bagel on a jalapeno cheese bagel. There was plenty of egg, melty American cheese and a couple of pieces of bacon. It wasn't salty and the actual jalapeno on the bagel was a bit spicy. The bread itself was crunchy and soft, if that makes any sense. This was delicious and even better when you add some hot sauce to it. The hubs got the pizza bagel on a plain bagel and this wasn't so exciting. It had pepperoni and a good amount of it but we weren't too impressed with it. The Jersey Girl was good too. We appreciated the Taylor ham and finally glad we were able to try this. It's almost like spam but not as salty. This was on a plain bagel as well. I would get this again, as well as the bacon, egg and cheese bagel. We also ordered the lox and dill cream cheese to take home and ordered a jalapeno cheese, Asiago, plain, salt and two cinnamon raisin. All bagels need to be toasted. The cinnamon raisin was a nice treat, not too sweet but wishing it did have sugar on it. The lox and dill cream cheese was so so so so so good with all the other bagels we got. You can definitely taste and see all the lox and dill in the cream cheese. I would order all these again. It was just so so good. The place is also cute and the staff are super friendly. Some of the sandwiches are a bit steep but for good bagels, I'll pay for it. Overall, I would definitely return on another random weekday.

It was very loud inside and so the gla taking my order misheard me and they gave me an everything bagel sandwich with jalapeño cheese cream cheese. They were very attentive and nice when I told them about the error and rectified it quickly and let me keep the sandwich bagel. It was good but just had too much cream cheese stuff inside for my liking. But it was a very generous amount since prices are higher than I'm used to paying for a bagel and schmear.

They have many vegan items here, which is great! I came in to try their summer seasonal donuts. What I got 1.Shorty cakes ($5)- a filled strawberry shortcake donut with a strawberry short cake crumble and fresh strawberry 2. It was on the sweeter side, but you could taste the black sesame flavor pretty well and the espresso If you've had the Good Humour strawberry shortcake bar, the topping is essentially that but in donut form. The parking is a bit tough to find in this area as there is no private lot and there is all street parking. I got the island boi sandwich on a sesame bagel, a maple donut, a strawberry shorty (seasonal), and some ube donut holes. Service was very transactional, so there was nothing standout but also nothing bad to say. The store is in North park, so naturally parking is a nightmare, but since I ordered ahead, I just used one of the 15 min parking spots out front. I was in and out so I didn't stop to really check out the shops decor either. The good: the breakfast sandwich was phenomenal, the crusted spam and garlic chili sauce paired so well with the rest of the flavors. The strawberry shortcake donut, which was filled with a strawberry "cheesecake" filling was very good as well. The donut dough was light and airy, and there was a generous amount of filling. The ehh: I wasn't super impressed with the maple donut, it may just be because most of their classic donuts are vegan, but the texture was strangely chewy to me, and the maple glaze just didn't hit. The donut holes just tasted like sugar coated donuts, I didn't taste any hint of ube/taro, not to mention they are way smaller than the average donut holes (4 for $1). Overall, I highly recommend the breakfast sandwiches, I definitely want to try some of the other specialty ones. As for the donuts themselves, I just don't think the classic donuts are to my taste.
