This was my second visit to this Jason's Deli, and unfortunately it didn't live up to my first experience. Last time I came in, the service was solid, the store was clean, and everything worked -- which is exactly why I returned. This time around, the experience was noticeably different. The fountain drink machine wasn't working properly. Ice had to be grabbed from behind the counter, the drinks had run out of CO2, and when I mentioned it, nothing was done to help resolve the issue. I ended up having to purchase a tea and a bottled water after already paying for a fountain drink. No comp, no refund -- so I basically spent about $7 on one drink. That part was not acceptable. The salad bar wasn't very clean, and the ice cream machine was also down. While the service wasn't rude, it felt like I was inconveniencing the employee just by ordering, which added to the frustration. Now for the good -- because there was good. I stopped in after spending time at a recovery business two doors down, and the food absolutely delivered. The chicken pot pie soup was made very well and tasted amazing. The Reuben sandwich with chips was also done right. Quality-wise, the kitchen clearly still knows what it's doing. This place earned my return because my first visit had excellent service and great food. I'm not giving up on it yet -- everyone has an off night. Stay tuned for round three. read more

Went in for breakfast at 10:00 AM. I was the only customer the cashier could not find a breakfast menu so she began reading the menu off the cash register screen. Halfway through she stopped and went looking for a menu. After finding one it had four sandwiches and some pastry to choose from. Nothing else, no sides. I ordered a croissant sandwich. It took 25 minutes to get my order. Again I was the only customer in the restaurant. Sandwich was bland. First time, last time to visit this location. read more

I ordered a chicken club sandwich and some fruit on DoorDash. They bought me the sandwich but it was only half a sandwich and I ordered a whole sandwich and 2 cups of fruit. I have a date with me and he ordered chili. They said they did not have any crackers, but they didn't have blue corn chip in the bag. There were crackers in there and blue corn chip. I don't know who packed the bag but half the was order wrong. I would bring it back, but by the time I got it, we were so hungry that we ate anyway. They need to train the employee on how to get o order right so that customers don't have a missing order. Otherwise Jd has good food and service. read more

I think it's time for me to give up on this location. The homeless situation is getting out of control here. Thought I'd grab a quick late lunch today and found out the bathrooms have a code now. Ok, I get it this location isn't too far from 75. No problem. Then I get my food and while I'm eating two different homeless guys try to talk to me and ask for money. I noticed they come in get some free ice cream and then start asking customers for money and start loitering. I was surprised they were able to get ice cream because this location rarely has the ice cream machine working. They really need to figure out a way to keep nonpaying customers from bothering the dining customers. What also surprised me is the employees just ignore the homeless in there. I had to sternly tell one of the homeless guy I was not going to talk to him and to leave me alone. I was trying to enjoy my food. read more

This review is for Jason's via Grubhub delivery. In a nutshell - SUPER FANTASTIC! The soups are HOT on arrival (that is a rarity) and they build the BEST salads from their salad bar with 37 topping choices. Also, dig their spinach/veggie wrap. Everything is extremely fresh. I ordered door dash from here and only recieved half my order. I grabbed the bag and drove back to Jason's deli to see if the other half of my order was there. I went up to the counter and told the person that I only received half my door dash order and asked if the other half of my order is here and she simply said "yes", and grabbed the food I already had and went to the back to microwave the rest of my order. She repackaged it and handed it to me. I never recieved an apology or an explanation. Not a please or thank you. Not a word. It's obviously the employees fault not the door dasher, as the food is kept behind the counter and the employees hand it to the door dasher. read more

The food is good but within the last year I've been coming here, the bum problem has gotten so bad. Please get this under control. You have to sit right by the register to avoid being harassed by bums. I went here today after giving this place a break and a little girl ran in the store alone and left with 6-8 ice cream cones then a bum with a bible and crazy eyes was walking in as I was leaving. Do not ever order Uber eats from this company I ordered a salad, a tea and a seafood gumbo. I had to wait 30 minutes just for them to make my order and then it took another 30 minutes to get it to me so I've waited an hour for Uber eats it gets here my salad that it is worth about four dollars. Stopped by this evening and ordered the beefeater, tomato/grill cheese, cookie and brownie. The beefeater was good. The tomato soup was thick and a lot compared to the small grill cheese that comes with it. The desserts were good and we really enjoyed the brownie. I waited almost 3 decades to see one show up across the Trinity river in my franchiseland area; but this one, near my dentist on Mockingbird, is my favorite. Knowledgeable staff work with you to find exactly the perfect fit for a sandwich, soup, entree or salad. There's the always popular manager's special - half sandwich and soup or half sandwich and one trip through the salad bar, too. The menu is extensive and I've never been disappointed. Today I had the manager's special - half sandwich tuna melt with bacon and the one trip salad bar with tax for $10. I always eat the sandwich and the free dish of soft serve ice cream and take the salad "to go" home. The salad bar is a simple one, a bargain, with three greens, multiple types of fresh cut salad veggies, whole green or greek olives, whole hard boiled eggs, artichokes, piquillo or red roasted peppers, baby beets, peas, red pepper hummus, potato salad, coleslaw, charred southwestern corn salad, pasta salad, fava beans, cottage cheese, Apples, banana pudding, chocolate mousse and fruit salad. There are at least 8 of the most delicious housemade salad dressings, too. There's these wonderful mini ginger snap muffins and corn muffins. The crispy garlic buttery bread slices are terrific with the hummus and soup plus there are great organic crackers. They have pickles, seeds, giardiniera and Jalapeños; whew! Pile it on. You can't go wrong dining at Jason's Deli, Mockingbird LN. The broccoli cheese soup is creamy and delicious. One of my favorites is the ham muffuletta sandwiches. Perfectly toasted sesame seed bread, special olive mixture, cheese, and enough meat to satisfy any sandwich fan. Service was fast. Staff friendly, walking around filling up the crackers and salad bar. Relaxing music to soothe the soul makes for nice dining in experience. read more

I went to the restroom before ordering. There I saw a kitchen worker exit a stall and walk straight to the kitchen without washing his hands. I chased him to the kitchen and insisted that he wash his hands, but he indicated that he didn't need to because he had just been on his phone. Mind you, I was in the small restroom with him and didn't hear a sound from his stall. I shared this with the manager, who quickly said this was against policy and promised to address the issue with the kitchen staff. Perfect hang out spot for lunch! They aren't like your typical deli where all you can get is a sandwich.....or a sandwich. They have assortments of hot soups (ooooo yuummmmyyyy DA gumbo!) Salad Bar is great but Mgr. Francisco is NOT! I was the first one in the restaurant at 11:11 a.m. walked up to the counter as Francisco was standing there doing something on the cash register. Stood there for two or three minutes without him even looking up, or acknowledging me, or speaking. They need to have a full time bouncer to keep the vagrants out. Literally watch them every time I'm here come in and leave with about a half gallon of "free ice cream". Ice cream machine is for patrons only and you're supposed to use the small cups and cones -- not for huge cups of ice cream, this leaves the ice cream machine backed up/empty trying to compensate for losing so much in one sitting from 1 or 2 greedy hood rats. I've been eating at this Jason's since the one on Greenville closed a few years ago. Usually I get the Reuben with a salad plate and it has never disappointed me. I do, however, ask for extra Thousand Island since you can never have too much Thousand Island. And when I add an over piled salad plate and chips I end up taking half the sandwich and chips home for a light supper. This last time I had the Rachel. It was made of pastrami, turkey, Swiss, coleslaw and Thousand Island on toasted rye. It was a nice change and very tasty but I still prefer their Reuben which is more tangy. As others have said, the salad bar is excellent with always fresh ingredients and a good variety of options. It is also constantly being refreshed. They have a fine variety of drinks: cold, hot, carbonated and still. Plus Coke Zero. 'Nuff said. Service is always friendly and efficient. With ample seating. Great food, good staff, decent price. I've been eating at JD's for 20 years. No joke. Grew up with the locations in Plano (Parker/Preston and 75). Even after moving down to Dallas we still enjoy Jason's and now frequent the mockingbird location. Through COVID we've done delivery quite a few times as well as dining in a few. Food has consistently been good. I had to take the time to write a review today though. We had an issue with our order, and the management/team at this place more than made it right. I don't normally go to this Jason's Deli but I was in the area after my Saturday morning session of boot camp (Go Camp Gladiator!) and had to wait until my next event. I wanted to satisfy the hungry health nut in me so Jason's Deli was the perfect choice! A big group of cheerleaders walked in right before me but I still got my order taken fast and it came out super fast! I was impressed! The manager was walking around making sure everything was ok and was even offering to refill drinks. I thought that was so nice since the place is almost self serve... and this my friend, is why I am taking the time to write up a review on THIS Jason's Deli although I've been to others many times before. The restaurant is well maintained as always. Their free yogurt stand is awesome too and is a nice ending to my healthy meal - too bad I was too full because they give you THAT much food! I ordered the Mediterranean wrap with fruit. It was fresh, healthy, and just hit the spot for me. I noticed they have honey available for your hot tea. Wow.. that's nice, don't you think? It's the little details that count. I rarely eat by myself but they had a TV on with CNN on so I caught up on my news!
