La Madeleine in Dallas offers a cozy, café vibe and a menu full of genuinely comforting French-inspired treats--from standout tomato basil soup and crème brûlée to freshly made Madeline cookies. Staff like Juan make the visit feel personal and welcoming

I ordered food from here today and they didn't give me my sourdough bread even though I asked for it on the online order. Missing a tomato basil soup as well.

Croque Monsieur, baked potato soup, chocolate eclairs and ice tea in a pleasant environment

This location has steadily improved over the last few years after taking a steep drop. One thing that saves it is the location. Nestled in NorthPark Mall its always a nice spot. Doesn't matter whether you are here shopping or just taking a break, the atmosphere is pleasant. The food has improved also and I never feel hesitant to get the french dip sandwich, American breakfast or any of the deserts. This trip I sampled 1/2 Croque Monsieur sandwich, baked potato soup and a chocolate eclair! Perfect lunch. The Croque Monsieur sandwich is a luscious combo of smoked ham and swiss with a garlic cream sauce, grilled. Magnifique! The baked potato soup is super-rich, garnished with bacon and cheddar. Finally, the eclair is true chocolate sweet in the french tradition, not a donut.

3/5. I've always heard good things about La Madeleine, so I finally decided to try it out. Food: 2.5/5 The food was decent, but not really worth the price that they were wanting for it. The fruit salad was what you would expect out of a continental breakfast, and the bread on the chicken pesto was super dry and bland. The filling on the sandwich was not bad, but that could have been because of how bad everything else seemed to be. The water tasted really weird and kind of metallic, so I had to suck it up with my dry mouth until I got home. The chips were the one good thing, because how do you mess up chips? Service: 3.5/5 Service was good, but there also weren't many people, so it's hard to tell how service will be at a busier time. The employees seemed to be on the quicker side on getting food out to our table as well as bussing the tables of previous patrons. Environment: 4/5 It's in a fairly accessible location, and easily seen from the street, as it's on a street corner. There's a lot of outdoor and indoor seating for whatever suits your fancy. The only thing was that it was pretty empty for a Saturday at noon. I would have expected it to be a little busier. Overall, it was a decent meal that didn't really leave any lasting impression on me, and I don't expect to come back, unless I'm dragged here by someone who loves the place.

Cafeteria style service , such sweet helpful uplifting lady's ! The food is great also ! If I lived a little closer I'd be here for lunch daily ! I'm already missing the staff and ain't left yet !!!

Having late lunch here on the way to the airport. It's a French counter part of Panera. They serve all day breakfast like IHOP and Denny's. They serve fresh salad, French onion soup, all French food and Pasta. They also serve wine. They have tasty desserts that will blow your mind. It's a self service style restaurant. You place your order in the counter, pay and they will deliver your order in your table. Service staff are courteous and helpful. Nice French style restaurant with full French decor. Separate Men and Women's bathroom, needs update.

They could do a bit better with service. Sometimes they have me go to one register sometimes to the other. Never consistent.

I started with the croque monsieur, and it was exactly what I was craving. The cheese was perfectly melted and bubbly, and that hint of dill on top really pulled it all together. I also grabbed a slice of the lorraine quiche, which was incredibly savory with a crust that was so buttery and flaky it practically melted in my mouth. For dessert, the chocolate kouign-amann was a total standout, super crispy on the outside with those rich, sweet layers inside. I paired it with an iced chai latte, which was perfectly spiced and not overly sweet. They have a small outdoor seating section that is perfect for catching some fresh air while you eat. The whole experience felt so authentic and high-quality. I am already looking forward to my next visit!

Staying open late worked in my favor as I got through DJing a show. The establishment is modeled like it's someone's house who just wanted to turn it into a food spot. Very welcoming, the lady at the register who took my order was nice. While every selection made it hard for me to choose from, I ended up going with the Cloud 9 - butterscotch, caramel, brown sugar meringue. I took the slice to go as I was heading back to Tulsa. It was so good. Every bite. I couldn't get enough. The combination of those 3 components went well together. As I was looking up the menu on their website, I noticed that none of the selections were the same from when I had my slice. That indicated to me that they have a rotating menu. That's going to make me a returning customer because I can have something new to look forward to.

The blueberry scone was fresh and although I only pinched a small bite from it, I could tell it was moister and more flavorful than most, well done! I wanted to try the Chocolate Kouign Amann, since I had no idea what it was, lol. It was packed with chocolate, but it wasn't fresh, the wonderful flaky pastry was rock hard. And now the quiche - I wanted SO much to love it - it was bursting with ham and the pastry looked lovely. But the pastry was SO hard that I couldn't even cut into it! I wanted to eat it with a fork but had to pick it up to bite the top part, since it was like wood. And the entire bottom of the quiche was drenched - when I bit into a bite from the lower part, all this water came squirting out - every bite that touched the bottom part of it was squirting water! I was so grossed out, why was this happening? Unlike my fave place La Madeleine, they only send you a slice, so sadly that was my one and only experience with Village Bakery quiche.
