Love it here! Especially for Sunday brunch! It's my fave for when I'm trying to be healthier. The staff is always nice and accommodating!

TL;DR: All in all, food was mostly delicious, mocktail was eye opening good, and service was friendly but slow. We had a good dinner (albeit expensive) and I'm sure we'll dine here again if we are in the area. We were in the area on one of the 100+ degree weather days we have sooo been enjoying (sarcasm) and wanted somewhere with 'lite' options for our early dinner. It has been years since I had True Food last and remembered it being tasty. Hubby and I were sat quickly and our server was really friendly and always smiling. We ordered a starter from the seasonal menu, watermelon haloumi salad, which was an excellent REFRESHING beginning. It really cooled us off , if you can believe it, after being in the heat all afternoon. I want to recreate that dish at home and eat it everyday, but I don't think I would get the dressing right. For our entrees, we were feeling like burgers - I ordered the Turkey burger (oh my it was delicious - the best seasoned turkey burger I've had - not bland or dry at all!) and hubby ordered the All American (and it was cooked just as he ordered it medium - shocking!!). I ordered the Simple Salad as my side and although the greens and cucumbers were fresh and the dressing was scrumptious, there was a bit too much dressing which made the greens go limp quickly. Hubby requested the air-fried French fries and they were lack luster - some cooked too much (burnt) and others still raw; not sure how that was possible - maybe they loaded too many in at once??? I ordered one of the zero-proof cocktails and was really surprised at had good it was. I'm even going to look for the tequila that was used so we can make them at home - it was called the Spicy Clean Margarita - yummy!! Service was a bit slow but I think that was because of the time of day we were dining - 4pm; the servers were prepping the empty tables for dinner service so they were a bit distracted. read more

Can you have a girl dinner yes you can! Fries, kale salad and your kind of drinks. They do have reservations and they do not have reservations so you can come in at any time. The staff is very nice very helpful. And very knowledgeable about their menu. The food is amazing even if you get it for two people and get some starters it is perfect. My sister is vegetarian, so while we were looking for places to eat this spot popped up and we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, we kind of regretted that decision with the first bite.. My sister ordered the Mediterranean wrap and I got the lemon chicken wrap. My wrap ended up being about 90% salad with only a few pieces of chicken, which was pretty disappointing. We also ordered the edamame dumplings and a table salad. The salad itself was actually nice, but the edamame dumplings were extremely plain!!! I love edamame and I love dumplings, so I was really excited to try this item but they ended up being very bland and the dumpling filling tasted chalky inside. Even chili oil couldn't save them Maybe I'm just used to more well-seasoned food, but with so many great options around Dallas, this place just didn't stand out for me. I have visited at least 3 True Food Kitchen's around the world and they are consistent with their product. I love their tofu and fresh ingredients! No fries, but you can have a kale salad! Lol. The service is upscale, however, you do not have to be dressed to impress to dine in. I will continue to seek this restaurant out while traveling the US. Great service, great food - not much more you can ask for! I love that True Food kitchen values "true" and whole foods with minimal ingredients. Any restaurant that has our health in mind is A Okay with me! Had the sangria (A+) and mushroom pizza with almond ricotta. 5 Stars for delicious and thoughtfully health conscious food selections! We had a great time trying several different items while visiting TFK for dinner. The sourdough pizza is absolutely worth getting and has a $3 discount for happy hour Mon-Fri. The chicken sandwich with house made pickles and sauce was a hit and the Korean Noodle Bowl with Shrimp was piping hot and unique. Our favorite was the Flourless Chocolate Cake, and had we not been so full, would have ordered one for each of us. The included cacao nibs provided texture variations and were a fantastic addition. Absolutely loved this spot in Dallas! I did the lunch social where you choose between an app or salad, a main course, and you get a warm chocolate chip cookie at the end. I looked up "healthy food" in Dallas and True Food Kitchen did not disappoint. The interior is lovely with a lot of open space, nicely decorated. We sat outdoors as the weather was great, and it was also a really nice environment. The service is quick and friendly. The drip coffee is decent if you like dark roast. The lavender matcha latte is a perfectly balanced coffee alternative for brunch! The truffle edamame dumplings are a unique item that I definitely recommend. Savory but with subtle, earthy notes from the truffle, with a well balanced kick in the broth. The butternut squash soup is good too, except the lavender garnish is a bit of a shock to the palette. Only real complaint - special menus (Valentine'sDay in our case) promoting a special price for 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, and 1 dessert. Patron can choose from a special list of appetizers and entrees. My friend and I chose from this the list. When the bill came, there was an upcharge for the steak entree that was on the list. Apparently in the small print under the "special menu" the upcharge is set out. I believe the wait person should make every person aware of this upcharge in the fine print at the time of taking the order. As much as I love the food here and the dietary restricted options... I'm starting to get really fed up with this place. There have been several times over the last year I have gone in and they are "out" of staple items and therefore can't make the meal requested. What's even more irritating is the fact that I pay $10 for a kale aid juice and always request it without ice which is completely normal as Juice is not often served with ice. So what do they do? They choose not to fill the cup I paid for. They only fill it 60% of the way which is ridiculous considering the price. They have done this several times now. He seemed to have an attitude and was a bit impatient which killed the mood when we asked questions. "You're True Food, Ethel." True Food Kitchen was one of the first mid-century postmodern restaurants I ever visited, about ten years ago. At first the layout and design threw me for a loop, but coming back today, I felt a modesty to it and not the antiseptic sterility of what I previously had in my memory. The food matches the aesthetic with its 'healthy' options. Whether it's in the form of a salad or bowl, mindbodygreen concoctions, and overall nutrition-conscious meals, they are all served with a small flair of presentation. However, there were some imperfections with the entrées that fall outside of that category, especially concerning their sourdough toast and fries, both of which were incredibly difficult to munch on from being overdone and slightly burnt. The All-American Burger was nothing special; though the grass-fed beef felt clean with no grease, there also wasn't much flavor. What more than made up for the mediocrity in the brunch department was the Hangover Rx, which had pineapple, orange, coconut water, aloe vera, and organic sea moss. Delicious! True Food Kitchen is original in a lot of ways, and it might be hard to notice due to the number of imitations that have sprouted up over the last decade, but that doesn't diminish their reputation in my eyes. At the very least order a cold drink off the True Refresher list, and tell me it doesn't cure your summer heatstroke. read more

Today, Feb. 27, I thought I'd go to True Kitchen and get a healthy meal. One of the greatest mistakes of my life. I ordered the double black bean burger which the patties were tasty. The bun was hard and dry, no freshness for months for the buns. By the time I got to my car to taste the fries, they were cold and stiff. All they needed were a coffin. I was utterly disgusted with this meal. I would have done better to just throw my $30.00 in the trash. Very disappointed. Service was polite but not speedy. I actually watch my burger sit for ten minute, like many meals just waiting for someone to pick them up. Unfortunately, I assume the food would be excellent considering the area the restaurant is in. Went here a while ago with a friend and we tried the Teriyaki Quinoa Bowl with chicken and the Korean Noodle Bowl with steak. The Teriyaki Quinoa Bowl comes with broccoli, rainbow carrot, bok choy, green bean, snap pea, mushroom, brown rice, avocado, and toasted sesame. This was definitely our favorite bowl! Loved how fresh all the veggies tasted and it was a delicious, filling meal. The Korean Noodle Bowl comes with sweet potato glass noodles, pickled shiitake, organic spinach, carrot, bean sprout, and toasted sesame. The noodles had an interesting texture and the bowl had plenty of meat. Even though it was good, I personally wouldn't order it again. We love, True Food! It's a nationwide chain, but we've enjoyed their locations in all the cities we've lived. On this occasion, we ordered takeout from this restaurant. It was delicious! We are vegan, and they always have such good selections for us. We got the seasonal butternut squash pizza and also the plant-based double cheeseburger. Both very tasty! We also ordered the seasonal dessert pie, which was butternut squash, and it was mind blowing! It was a more delicious version of a pumpkin pie (if you can imagine that).
