Its not very many places in America that are pure vegetarian. This place is kinda Indian with Buddhist vibes and ALL vegetarian, gets me soo excited.... Got a salad for a grab and go, and carrot juice. The salad was soo fresh. Simple ingredients, exotic looking and just soothing your taste buds with mild flavouring. The carrot juice was really good too. Really want to come back here for a sit-down lunch or dinner. Service is fast and ambiance friendly. Maintained pretty neat.

Buddha's Delight

Google Gemini told me I was going to a coffee shop where I could sit and study. Needless to say I was surprised to walk into an Indian restaurant. Nonetheless I ordered the Buddha's Delight and it was incredible! Fresh, flavorful, and best of all NOT GREASY! This is the first time I've ever had restaurant Indian food and not felt like I was eating a pound of ghee. Everything tasted healthy but delicious. Perfect complete protein meal. The sauces were on point and the samosa was crisp and freshly fried/baked. Service was excellent. I'm traveling but if I lived in the neighborhood I'd be back all the time. I did not bust out my laptop to study/work but got delicious healthy Indian food instead - a tasty surprise.

Interesting ambiance. Not great Indian food but interesting vibe. Mix of different cuisines on the menu. The specials change so maybe that is better. It's a cool location with an interesting vibe on the inside. Def rec trying to decide for yourself

I absolutely love it here! This a welcoming, friendly establishment that was a beautiful building and atmosphere, and delicious vegetarian options. Our server checked on us often and was happy to make recommendations on the menu. My friend and I ordered the Buddha's Delight which had a little of everything; vegetable curry, rice, samosa, nan, sauces, and soup. I would definitely recommend this dish if you are hungry. Every inch of the building has thoughtful, gorgeously painted and hand-crafted details. They host music and yoga events as well upstairs. I will definitely be back! Happy to see this Dallas staple has returned.

Delicious food. I got the Dharma Bell. It was bursting with great flavor. The service was fast. The ambience was out of this world and trippy. They also have a meditation center on the second floor.

I'm so glad they're back! This place has many great options on the menu. I got Buddha's Delight and my boyfriend got the spinach enchiladas. We both really liked our food. The place is decorated so colorfully and there's something everywhere you look. We ate outside on the patio and it was nice. Service was attentive. I'll definitely come back.

5-star food, vibe, service !! Resurrection of a most cherished oasis in the heart of Dallas. Had to park across the street .. be careful.

Love this place!! The place is a whole vibe and the food is so yummy and im not indian but the word id use to describe it is "home-y". You can tell they make it with intention. I usually get a surprise bag so i can try new things and im never disappointed. I feel like im in a movie when i'm there.

Is it true they're closing (for good) this weekend??!? I'm so sad!!! I swear I just saw a post on Instagram and now I can't find it. Owner is turning the space into a meditation space instead? 😩😩😩

I came here for lunch today after a 10 year hiatus from this gem. I will never wait that long to…read morereturn again, and may come every week going forward. The vegetarian buffet is relatively small, but nutritionally diverse and dense. Dishes today ranged from simple steamed broccoli and carrots to curried cauliflower and multiple legume dishes, to a salad bowl with a wide range of fresh colorful veggies. You will leave full and happy, I fully expect, if you try it too. The little restaurant is housed in a beautiful ornate temple, and has a lovely outdoor courtyard to dine in on pleasant days (I eat inside when it's hot or cold out.) Service is minimal, but attentive by buffet joint standards. Parking is a secure private lot and spaces are plentiful. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy, but you are fully separated from it if you park in the secure lot. For $15 at lunch, you will likely have your most nutritious meal of your (pick a time period), and get a free drink and desserts. Some items are available for upcharge, but I find them to be unnecessary. The vibe is temple casual and reminds me of hippy establishments I used to frequent in the 70s and 80s. I highly recommend you try it, if you love fresh vegan fare at a bargain price and want to check out the lovely temple and grounds while you're there.

We had a good dinner (albeit expensive) and I'm sure we'll dine here again if we are in the area. We were in the area on one of the 100+ degree weather days we have sooo been enjoying (sarcasm) and wanted somewhere with 'lite' options for our early dinner. It has been years since I had True Food last and remembered it being tasty. Hubby and I were sat quickly and our server was really friendly and always smiling. We ordered a starter from the seasonal menu, watermelon haloumi salad, which was an excellent REFRESHING beginning. It really cooled us off , if you can believe it, after being in the heat all afternoon. I want to recreate that dish at home and eat it everyday, but I don't think I would get the dressing right. For our entrees, we were feeling like burgers - I ordered the Turkey burger (oh my it was delicious - the best seasoned turkey burger I've had - not bland or dry at all!) and hubby ordered the All American (and it was cooked just as he ordered it medium - shocking!!). I ordered the Simple Salad as my side and although the greens and cucumbers were fresh and the dressing was scrumptious, there was a bit too much dressing which made the greens go limp quickly. Hubby requested the air-fried French fries and they were lack luster - some cooked too much (burnt) and others still raw; not sure how that was possible - maybe they loaded too many in at once??? I ordered one of the zero-proof cocktails and was really surprised at had good it was. I'm even going to look for the tequila that was used so we can make them at home - it was called the Spicy Clean Margarita - yummy!! Service was a bit slow but I think that was because of the time of day we were dining - 4pm; the servers were prepping the empty tables for dinner service so they were a bit distracted.

But, a few aspects of this place keep me from giving a strong rating. The vibe fits the south end of Bishop Arts, having a local hole in the wall quality. It was warm outside and the front is a large open wall, with no enclosed air conditioning. Air is moved with fans, which helped. But, it was quite humid inside and I would have appreciated more relief from the heat. There is an "order here" counter, but also QR codes on the tables that open a web page you can order from. It's weird to me to ask customers *in the store* to go through the hassle of entering credit card, phone number, billing address, etc. into a phone in order to get food brought to a table. I started this process and bailed on it cuz annoying, approaching the register at the counter instead. The staff member behind the counter said, "happy to take your order" and all was fine. Maybe this would be more convenient if I was a regular and there was a long line at the register. We ordered a 6 layer dip, side of Elote, and Birria tacos. The Elote was delicious. The dip was meh, having a top layer that was pureed and reminiscent of a baby food flavor I couldn't put my finger on. The chips provided were bland and obviously store bought, taking away from any impression of in-house freshness. The Birria takes were tasty, though served very hot. The sauce provided tasted like a Chamoy, rather than the red gravy I'm used to. If the dishes were more consistent, order process clearer, and air conditioning better controlled, I'd have scored higher.

Our server, Miles, was genuinely friendly and warm, with great suggestions to match. It's the kind of food that proves "light lunch" doesn't have to mean settling. The atmosphere deserves its own mention. The Southern aesthetic is done beautifully: country music in the background, thoughtful decor, and an easy, inviting energy. Everyone working was friendly, and it showed in the overall experience. Whether you're local or just passing through, this one is worth the stop. Highly recommend.
