I came here for lunch today after a 10 year hiatus from this gem. I will never wait that long to return again, and may come every week going forward. The vegetarian buffet is relatively small, but nutritionally diverse and dense. Dishes today ranged from simple steamed broccoli and carrots to curried cauliflower and multiple legume dishes, to a salad bowl with a wide range of fresh colorful veggies. You will leave full and happy, I fully expect, if you try it too. The little restaurant is housed in a beautiful ornate temple, and has a lovely outdoor courtyard to dine in on pleasant days (I eat inside when it's hot or cold out.) Service is minimal, but attentive by buffet joint standards. Parking is a secure private lot and spaces are plentiful. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy, but you are fully separated from it if you park in the secure lot. For $15 at lunch, you will likely have your most nutritious meal of your (pick a time period), and get a free drink and desserts. Some items are available for upcharge, but I find them to be unnecessary. The vibe is temple casual and reminds me of hippy establishments I used to frequent in the 70s and 80s. I highly recommend you try it, if you love fresh vegan fare at a bargain price and want to check out the lovely temple and grounds while you're there. read more

My girlfriend and I heard about this place while at another dinner, and a nearby couple we were chatting with recommended it. Getting here was only slightly tricky, as it's not located in a strip mall or anything, but down a somewhat crummy street, in its own gated area, with a parking lot. The buffet was modest but diverse, with a fully vegetarian buffet where 90% of the options are also gluten-free. I really enjoyed the Sambhar soup, Kofta balls in tomato gravy, the spicy-pickled peppers, and the Chickpea curry. The outdoor dining area is just lovely, especially with good weather, and the temple grounds are very peaceful and enjoyable. Very reasonable price for such a relaxing and unique meal, and the staff were very friendly. My review is specifically for the restaurant, which is inside an Indian temple and includes a wonderful outdoor courtyard area for eating. The food is vegetarian and all amazingly fresh. You walk through a buffet line and can fill your tray with is a mix of fresh veggies, steamed veggies, various kinds of rices, usually a lentil soup, potatoes prepped multiple ways in delicious sauces, beans, Indian crackers, salad, desserts, and perhaps my most favorite- the fresh cinnamon raisin bread . You can even enjoy tea here while you soak up sunshine in the courtyard with your meal. The food is so nutrient dense, and I always feel envigorated after meals here. I love to come here after my long runs at the lake to refuel my body with amazing and healthy food. I also delight in sharing this place with my treasured friends. All my memories here are precious to me as I tend to bring my best friends and loved ones here on special occasions too! Came here on my way to white rock. It was a particularly nice day, and what I never noticed before was that they have an outdoor seatings in the courtyard. Side note: I used to come in evenings always sat inside. It's a buffet style, so you take what you want. There are dishes/desserts that cost extra, but most are included in the price. Such a gem located inside of a Hindu temple. I came for a friend's recommendation on Diwali! And it can I say that the moment I walked in, I knew this was it be authentic place to be. This was my first visit to the restaurant and temple. It was quite different but very interesting. I can't say I know a lot about Hindu culture but this place is great to visit. The people don't come across as too welcoming but I'd still say it's worth a visit if you're in the area. It's beautifully decorated. As for the restaurant it was good with a nice selection in the buffet as well as drinks. There are some items not included in the price for the buffet so watch out. Who said eating veggie is boring. They make healthy food taste great. I've never came here before covid so i don't know how they "regularly" serve the buffet. But now, you take a plate, and they put food in a to go box for you no matter you dine in or take out. You can tell them to put more food if you feel the portion they served is too small for you. My husband and I have been coming here every few years for about 30 years. I see that I have yet to write a review, although I'm not sure they need more accolades. I was happy to see that the restaurant has returned to the pre-Covid self-serve buffet line. I had read that for awhile they had a Vegan to go box while there was no dining in. I am sure it was assembled with great care. It's just not the same as a visual inspection of the day's offerings, however, and making your choices or for that matter, returning for a second bowl of dal or more bread. Then there's the unique opportunity of dining within the temple itself. We are not lacto-vegetarians. The food here is very soul satisfying, though, without any meat. We love to come on a weekday, before or after the noon rush, and take our time. The food is well prepared and never too spicy. The Courtyard is lovely with individual ceiling fans and lighting in the booths. The staff works hard and treats you well. The restaurant is their fundraiser, true; but you feel a genuine sense of interest in you enjoying your meal here. The day's menu is posted on their website. They always have their whole wheat cinnamon raisin bread, pappadam, mixed lettuce salad with choice of dressings, and a soup of the day. Today it was a wonderful Yellow Mung Dal. It had a little heat with a few veggies and a nice consistency. I scarfed that right down with some pappadam. Frankly, that's what I look forward to along with the pea and potato samosa. It was $3 extra. They only had a tamarind chutney for it. It was still very good. Everything else from the steamed veggies to the mixed bean curry and kofta balls was all savory and along the way, I intermingled bites of their delicious cinnamon bun-like bread. There was the most amazing crispy fried bitter melon and sweet potato dish. Totally surprising and certainly not bitter, it was a beautiful dish. Unfortunately the lemon-tahini salad dressing did nothing for me. Grainy and bland, I wished I had opted for the Italian. As it was, I never really ate my salad. Dessert is included, a choice between rice khir or pineapple-coconut halvah, or you can get a vegan Brownie for $5. Honestly, I have no idea what halvah should taste like. The fruit in it was good but on the whole, it was a little sweet for me. You'll get plenty to eat and tamarind tea to drink if you want and you can return for more if you wish. When you enter the building, follow the signs for the restaurant. You may see a line, anyway. After your meal, check out the tiny gift shop or take note of the small signs that tell you if the temple itself is open. You'll need to go down the hall to a room with racks for shoes. Remove your shoes and enter the temple. It's definitely worth seeing. read more

We came on Thursday (day after Christmas) With a group of 3 people. There was tons of parking, and even with the intermittent rain, access was easy and dry inside. The restaurant is attached to a Temple and a service was in progress when we arrived so the walkways were kept clear and the patrons were kind and respectful. We went through a line with a tray, picked our plates and bowls (quality porcelain dishes for the food- so no plastic to worry about with PFAS) and had a self serve buffet style setup. They also placed a giant hand sanitizer at the door for everyone to use prior to grabbing a tray or plates. Restaurant staff continually replaced food pans as they neared empty and kept everything hot and replenished. Easy to read signage for menu items with pictures graphics most people with restricted diets ask about. Great time for us and definitely a place to revisit! read more

Pay for your meal at the end of the line, and grab a seat. There are some indoor seats - booths and tables - but the real magic happens outside in the courtyard. Yes!!! Every single time we come to Dallas we eat here! I look forward to coming here because the dishes are amazing and have such great flavor! This place is inside the building, down the hallway a bit on the left. There's. Quaint gift shop at the front by the door that has some nice gifts for sale. The actual restaurant is a small buffet with vegetarian dishes of all sorts. You pay after you eat. I like to get a little of each item on my first plate and then get another plate of the items I lived! Don't get me wrong I like all the items but some of the dishes like the paneer dish, I have to get seconds on, or thirds! The paneer is cheese and it's in a delicious sauce that I can't stop eating! Plus if you get the giant cracker things on the buffet and dip them in the sauce and put that paneer on top. Perfect bite!!! They have a yummy drink there made with tamarind That's to die for. Fill me up!! Okay for the dessert, you have three options. We had three people, so we tried one of each and all shared. If you are alone please get the carob halva ! I LOVE that dessert so much!
