A friend recently introduced me to this place and I thought it was great! With more and fire fast food salad places popping up, Salata gives you unlimited toppings for free!!!!! That's literally unheard of and I loved it! Aside from the premium items, I got the works in my salad-- black olives, carrots, banana peppers, Parmesan, mozzarella, almonds and croutons with double the Caesar dressing. A salad exactly how I wanted and for a great price! I got the small and I think it was about 9ish dollars. The servers were all quick and courtesy when helping us and the place was extremely clean. They had some tasty tea options, I opted for the iced green tea and that was the cherry on top of my light and fresh meal. I wish they had Salatas in the state where I live, but until then, I'll come back to this location when I'm in town! Thank you! read more

Prior to covid I was unaware of this location. It has since become my go to location whenever I want Salata. The 'customizable' concept used here is the same one that seems to be dominating the 'fast casual' dining space (most know it from Chipotle however it was initiated by Subway). In the case of Salata it starts with picking a lettuce mix. From there, one adds as many of the 50 different toppings (other veggies, fruit, nuts, seeds, cheese, etc) as desired. Next are the house-made salad dressings followed by a choice of protein (if desired). Following the protein selection are a few premium toppings items including avocado, artichoke hearts to name a couple. Next up is the soups; in addition to great salads and wraps, Salata offers a few home-made choices which are all delicious. (I highy recommend the Tomato Basil). After this, one pays at the register so they can begin to enjoy a tasty and nutritional meal. Note, the credit card payment is setup in such away that it is touchless. While this location is smaller than the other Salata locations I have frequented, they do a good job in ensuring tables of spaced far enough apart as part of their covid protocol. Additionally, they have hand sanitizer available throughout for convenience. From the serving area to the tables, this location is always clean. The servers are always friendly, patient and very accommodating. All are wearing masks and gloves. If you're looking for a safe, healthy and enjoyable meal; this Salata location should be on your list. read more

I really appreciate the portion sizes because salads usually small making you want a wrap or a salad but here at Salata you get your moneys worth baby and we love getting your bang for your buck! This location wasn't my favorite though. You can tell it used to be something else...it was pretty dull inside and less bright compared to other locations I've been to. Rabbit food heaven!!!! I'm a huge fan of veggies, but never just go for a salad as a single meal. They're usually not big enough to fill me up, or lack of varieties, flavors, until now!!! Told my bf we were gonna come here for lunch, he was surprised, probably thought to himself it'd be one of those times that we're gonna have to go to 2 different restaurants just to satisfy my bottomless pit belly. Walking in, it was love at first sight. Everything was green!!! The light green of first leaves coming out in Spring! My favorite green! You start at the other end of the line, pick out your green base of either baby spinach, mixed green, or kale, then top it off with all kind of toppings. You can get ALL the toppings or pick and choose what you want. There's no limit on how many different topping you can get!!!!!! Next is picking the protein. They have 3 different types of chicken, salmon, and shrimp to choose from. The chickens are delicious. I have not tried the seafood options yet. Their dressings are also very creative. I wanted to try them all, but will have to come back here more often to try a different one each time. After you get done "customizing" your salad, they offer to mix the dressing in for you, or just simply keep it on the side. We also had their tomato creme soup. It was heavenly! Perfect to pair with the salad. Don't forget to get some caramel candies too! They get their candies from a place in Dallas. I'm not a fan of caramel, but just wanted more. I was introduced to Salata by a friend of mine! She was raving about this place. I'm a big salad fan, so I knew that I had to try. I've heard from several people to check it out. I went in with high expectations. I saw that the ordering process was quite simple. They don't have any signature or ready made salads. The only option is to build the bowl. It is a great option for this if that's what you tend to do! The lady who made that salad was not generous with the portions and was quite small when I did order a regular bowl salad. They had a variety of options but the lady helping me was a rad but rude. My salad was ok, but I want so impressed. I think I might be the only salad-hating vegetarian out there. So when my Mom kept bringing me to Salata, I would skip over to the Chipotle next door. Lettuce does not a meal make, Mother! I finally gave it a chance a couple weeks ago after a workout and got a wrap! I think a wrap is $7 without meat and is easily 2 meals. You start picking out your lettuce type and they have spinach too- so if you're a lettuce-hater like me, get the spinach. Then you pick your toppings- and you can pick all of them. There is no limit to how many you can pick! It's great! They have radishes, beans, potatoes, pasta, all vegetables, spicy stuff, sweet stuff, crunchy stuff, seasoned meat! And then you can pick which sauce you want. The herb vinaigrette is to die for. Then they toss it all up and put in a warmed tortilla of your choice: wheat, spinach, or plain. It's awesome. You also get pita chips and tortilla chips. I love coming here after a work-out because I feel healthy, it's cheap, and so delicious. The service is usually really good too. Last night, though, this girl kept talking about how she couldn't wait to get off and that she needs a raise and she had to go meet up with her boyfriend and blah blah blah. Upon arrival you can choose to either do a salad or a salad wrap (try one on their spinach tortilla). Pick your lettuce (3 kinds) and then move down the line and pick your toppings. Unlimited...you could get everything if you wanted. Unlike Snappy, where you can only get 6 or 7. You can add Chicken, Salmon or Shrimp for $2 more. Also, they give you bread. You can choose from Rye, White or Wheat. They butter it and then toast it too! I mean come on now... May I also suggest the Chipotle Ranch dressing. Spicy and fabulous. I love it! Whole Foods be damned... Well, let me preface that statement. I usually dine at Whole Foods, by that I mean the salad bar, at least three times a week. One day, I was out for a jog with my sister and afterwords she said "where to for lunch?" I suggested my usual and she said "twelve dollars for a salad? I'll pass. I'll call my friend, she knows all the best places in town" She suggests Salata and I reluctantly follow. When we arrive the owner is sitting at a table with said friend. He stands up to greet us warmingly. He asks if we have been here before and my sister blurts "I have, but he wanted to go to Whole Foods." Owner looks at me and says "can I take you through?" He confidently shows me to the bar and as he steps around to the other side I thought to myself "reveal yourself salad man, what is your name?" I think I heard him say "My name is Saladiator... son to a murdered spinach salad, husband to a murdered ginger-lime dressing and father to a murdered chopped pesto chicken... And I will have my day of vengeance in this life or the next." I awoke from this illusion to hear him say "still want to go to Whole Foods?" My answer being a resounding NO. It was as if the salad and toppings glowed, were floating if you will, singing a song. What a refreshing alternative to my "usual" and at an even more refreshing price. Dollar for dollar, experience for experience, I have to say that this place is the better value. I must say that my new healthy lunch spot is Salata. While in Dallas last week, I dropped in to this little food place in the University/Park Cities area. What a treasure! It's basically a salad bar, Soup Nazi style. For those of you who are not familiar with the Soup Nazi, it was popular in the Jerry Seinfeld show where you would place your order to the person behind the long counter and keep moving to the right (presumably towards the cash register), where your order gets filled by the next person, and so on. Salata is just like that, without the SN's attitude. However, for the uninformed, it can be a bit intimidating. Since I was there for lunch, it seemed like those familiar with the place knew the routine. Choose salad/wrap, select greens, move to the right, order toppings (as many as you like), move to the right, select dressings, move to the right, add meat if you wish, move to the right. If you're having a wrap, select type of tortilla, then move to the right. The counter person then tosses your salad or wraps your wrap and gives it to you with a side of chips. Select drink (self serve), pay for all, then sit with the others who are eating their salads out of stainless steel bowls... oh, and enjoy! You can't go wrong with a salad that you made with your own chosen ingredients. Salata's food is fresh, fast and cheap ($8, without drink). This is a great place for starving students, business people and those on carb-free diets. read more

I love this place the ingredients are fresh, the service is always good and I just luuuuuuuv the ginger lime vinaigrette. Ive been to snappy salads once bc someone said it was better. I wouldn't say it was better, but it offered a menu where so you don't have to sit there and think about what ingredients you want in your salad. One of the reasons I like salata is because they have strawberries and SS doesn't. I like strawberries in my salad. The wraps are super big and very tasty. This place is the best build your own salad bar in town. Its so good that my friends and I have looked into franchising opportunities. They have a lot of fresh topping choices (unlike Eatzi's) and they give you an unlimited amount (unlike Snappy Salads). When I got to the cash register both salads looked the same size except mine was in a larger metal bowl. Anyways, I hope that doesn't happen again cause the salad was tasty and filling. I had the vinegarette dressing and it was very light and delicious. I applaud eating healthy and enjoying your meal at the same time so I hope they keep being generous with the toppings cause the prices are quite high for what you get. I absolutely love the salads here! I randomly crave them and will drive 20+ mins to get one, no question! Since the salad is put together in an assembly line fashion, you walk along with the server and tell them what you do and don't want on your particular salad. Ok, so I decided to give a salad place a try. Lets see if green stuff can get me full. Basically a hopped up Subway, but with salad. You go through the line and tell them what you want thrown into your GIANT salad bowl. Assortment of greens, more green stuff, other veggies, fruit, protein and dressing. I threw some grilled chicken in mine because I needed something that was once living in there. The green stuff was good, the dressing was good. The chicken however- dry as sand. No bueno. There wasn't enough dressing in the bowl or glasses of tea to help me out. So if you go here for the salad, stick with the salad. Lunch time rolls around and I'm still in my healthy mode, so when my friend suggested salata, (she's obsessed) I agreed whole heatedly. Parking was sort of a bitch today, but it's a busy little center, so can't blame Salata for that. Walking in, I have to admit, it just had this airy "fresh" smell to it. I opted to go for a salad. There was spring mix, romaine and spinach available, and then a salata mix which was I think all 3 plus some cabbage. Then the fun begins. There's a ton of toppings so I just picked and chose until I got to the meats section, which I opted out of. I got a fresh herb vinaigrette that was very tasty and light. Salad tossing happened here, right before paying. When I went to pay, the cashier asked me if I wanted some more of anything. He said he thought my bowl was a bit light and confirmed with me that I was ok with it. I thought that was kind of nice. I was happy with my salad and the diversity of toppings. I got snow peas which are so naturally sweet and crisp, walnuts, cucumbers and more and everything was crispy, fresh, and well..healthy. Yay. When I made a salad at home it is pathetic. I get some boring kind of lettuce- ice berg or romaine. Throw some carrots on it, maybe some cucumber, maybe some cheese, and then it's time for dressing (probably Italian). This kind of salad makes me want to snooze, it's just so boring. Salata salads are not boring. They have a few lettuce options to choose from, and you can even mix them if you'd like. I usually opt for the Salata Mix, since it's already a blend of types. I know some people really love the spinach. From this point the options increase drastically. Veggies galore! And some fruits too, and nuts, and noodles, and potatoes, and croutons, and pita chips. Don't feel rushed your first time through, really look at everything. You can get as much as you want. When you get to dressings you might want to pause. You can ask for tastes of any of them. Are you eating the salad to be low in calories? Then you might want to restrict yourself to the measly two choices that are low-fat/low-calorie: something tomato and something mango. They're alright. The other dressings are wonderful! But are really not low calorie, and may be counterproductive to your reasons for eating a salad. You decide. Soups and breads are available too- but really why waste your time. If you opt for a wrap instead of a salad (tell them this at the beginning of the line), you'll get some pita chips on the side. After the gym, I decided to be good and NOT blow off all those calories I worked so hard to burn and decided on Salata for lunch instead of the fish and chips down the street. For about $10, you get a HUGE salad with the toppings of your liking. You just walk down the row and tell them what you want on it, and then you can have a choice of meat (if you wish). My salad philosophy is: the more, the better. Load up on those toppings! And let me tell ya, they did. I ended up with a humongous salad with really great vinaigrette. We sat inside (it's a small seating area), and you can get drinks yourself. And even though my friend ate half his wrap and said he was full, I sat and I finished that monster of a salad. Of course. As a regular who works next door and been going to this location for a year I have to say my experience today was more then upsetting. All 3 of us eat here and spend more then enough money at this location service was always good until today. The manager not sure what her name is, is not pleasant not sure if she was having a bad day. My salad was done incorrectly my coworker went to get the salad and I guess there was miss communication on the piece of paper that had the stuff that I wanted on the salad. The manager took the paper out and said okay I can add some chicken. I asked for a redo because the sauce was not mixed properly. For her to make a redo and take care of a customer for someone that spends 200 to 400 a month there should of not been an issue but there should of been a way for her to talk to people. Some of my friends are on a diet and I joined them for dinner at Salata. It's basically salad made your way. They have several different mixes of greens to start off with and then a plethora of other veggies and fruits that you can add to your own salad creation. I thought it was a simpler version of Snappy salads minus some veggies and the huge menu of different salad mixes. On my visit tonight I thought my portion of salad was very inconsistent compared to my friends. I guess they assumed I had a big appetite since I was a big guy and I got a lot more salad then they did. I couldn't finish it and I didn't even select too many other veggies and fruits. They had a couple of soups on hand tonight which were Tomato Basil and Tortilla. I had some of the Tomato Basil and it was really rich and a bit thick. I ordered a cup of it and I couldn't finish it because it was almost just to rich and I got sick of it really quick. I'm not saying it was bad; it was just a little too much for me. Will I be back? Amazing. Enough said. Salad Bar sounds scary but this is the best 'salad bar' you've ever had. About 5 million toppings to choose from and they are all extremely fresh and you never get the bottom of the barrel, even if you go at night. $8 - $11 bucks flat will fill you up and you'll keep coming back for more. This place is close to my work, and since day one, I was hooked. I now go about three times per week and haven't been dissatisfied once which is saying a lot. You have to experience it for yourself. They offer wraps as well although that really isn't my thing. Fresh Herb Vinaigrette is my favorite of their home made dressing options. I was pleased and delighted with HOW MANY choices you get for your HUGE salad. Also, mad props for making all of the veggies cut up small and bite size, no giant florets of broccoli here! Tons and tons and tons of options, way better than any "fast" salad places. Loves that my salad maker let me sample 2 dressing before making my choice...i chose the herb vinaigrette, light and tasty. Can I please draw attention to something I have NEVER seen in a salad place before? One of the meat options was a "seafood mix" that consisted of chunks of fresh salmon ( not the canned kind), imitation krab ( yes, the kind spelled with a K), and shrimp. I love this Salata even more than the one in west village. They give me more toppings here and offer more options as well (potatoes and bacon-not that I got either lol). The pesto chicken went perfect in my salad along with the fresh herb vinaigrette. Choice of meats (chicken, salmon, etc). BIG BOWL portion --- about $12 bucks with meat added. Actually too much salad for one person. Eatzi's is closer to my house - I'll probably still just go there and it will be cheaper and fill me up. It was good, just nothing that I am going to run back for. In the mood for a fresh salad?! I can think of no better place! Salata is hands down my favorite place to dine for an awesome FRESH salad! I am personally a huge fan of personable waitstaff and people that make an effort to enhance your experience in their place of business. I've been eating at Salata for months now- and at this point the managers know me by face. The theme song from CHEERS said it best, "...you wanna go where everybody knows your name!!" Truer words have never been spoken! I admit that the personable waitstaff at Salata significantly enriches my love for this establishment, but it truly is the quality of the food which keeps me running back for more! PERKS The atmosphere is always super clean and "crisp." Though its awkwardly quiet (in my opinion) it only adds to the calmness I often desire when I'm in the mood for a good ol' bowl of fresh veggies. The setup appears to be buffet style- yet gratefully you are served by a friendly person dressed in crisp, chef-whites! I LOVE THAT! The uniform incites supreme culinary excellence! (As if they had to cook anything at all) it gives the vision of expert culinary skills at work! This adds to my level of comfort, and the presentation of extra fresh, quality food! As you walk the line of optional add-ons, pointing at this, pondering on that; I love the fact that if I say "a few more __________, please" they happily scoop a little more in my bowl. No frown or downward glare- just an extra scoop and a smile. Apparently they have the scooping system down because there is no weight system; you are charged the standard fee for your chosen salad regardless of how many add-ons you select. My "personal perk" of this place, are the tortilla and pita chips that come standard with each order! SOOOO GOOD!!! I will let you in on a little "foody queen" secret: ask for your favorite dressing on the side and dip your pita/tortilla chips in it alongside your salad or wrap! The absolute best! Okay, yeah- it takes away from your attempt to be ultra healthy...but its so good! Just a little something I stumbled upon by accident that has turned into an addiction. You've been warned, proceed with caution. The final perk, which is a simple, tiny touch that stood out for me, is the choice of plastic/silverware. I absolutely love the fact that Salata goes a step further and offers plastic forks and knives that resemble silverware! *sigh* How wonderful?! I can't think of any other fast food-type establishment that goes the extra step to make their presentation such a class act! JERKS If you choose to dine-in your salad is served to you in the same mixing bowl in which they made it. *blank stare* I'm not a big fan of that, and in my opinion it takes away from all the effort made to present Salata as a "class act." I mean, I get it and its not that big of a deal- but it kinda is. In my mind a contradiction exists. I suppose maybe the choice for silver plastic ware was to match the bowls- in which case I'm totally off base regarding the motivation of their plastic ware choice. Oh well, who cares? The point is this, if you dine in you will eat out of a large mixing bowl. Blah! The cool thing (i've seen others do this, never done it myself) is that if you go on a date or with someone you don't mind swapping germs with- you two can eat out of the same big bowl. Cute date idea I suppose. Again, not a first date- but a date with someone you REALLY like and know well! ;-) Parking can be brutal. Unless you have mastered the art of parking in Preston Square- it can absolutely defeat you! For those new to the area, cross your fingers and hope that someone else is leaving so that you can park directly in front of Salata. Yet if that is impossible, don't feel bad about parking in the adjacent garage. The salad is worth it. $$ The fee is somewhat pricey for a salad; at least to those who are only used to buying .99cent Cesar salads from Wendys (yuk!) However, for those with an appreciation for quality veggies, and crisp, fresh salads the price is very reasonable.
