Had lunch here upon a recommendation by my friend alex. I didn't know what to expect since he just mentioned it was a salad spot and that it's really awesome. Which was a surprise to me. How could salad be that good? After arriving, i discovered that it's like chipotle meets subway. You get many options and choices on how you want to have your salad or wrap. The wraps are really the only way to go; unless you're trying to cut down on carbs. The food here is pretty delicious. 8 bucks gets you a great fresh wrap. I really appreciate their attention to small details like warming up your bread. I went with a pesto chicken, the salata salad mix and the herb vinaigrette dressing. It was pretty tasty. Definately, will have to come again. I could definately see how one could eat here every day of the week; as my friend suggested that he did. Very tasty options here! read more

Wanting a light dinner, my husband and I decided to give Salata a try. We both had salads, so the drill is to walk to the far side of the restaurant (not straight up to the cashier right by the door like we did), pick your lettuce mix, add your standard toppings, add chicken or seafood (which costs $2 more for salads), pick your dressing, and then the salad is tossed right before your eyes by the friendly salad chef lady. They have a good selection of toppings, and as we walked down the line, I was throwing all kinds of random stuff on there. Next time, I'll practice a little self-control and picture the end result of what I actually am trying to make, although the interesting creation that resulted from my compulsive vegetable/fruit yelling turned out to be quite tasty. Onions! Cranberries! Jalapeños! Yeah, throw 'em on there! I was very much just seeing things and saying that I love them, a la Brick from Anchorman. I tried the FF Sun-Dried Tomato dressing, which was good, although I could have used a little bit more of it. We thought it was interesting that they didn't have some pretty standard dressing options like Italian or Raspberry Vinaigrette. Overall, it was a good experience and a refreshing meal, so we will likely be back! read more

Let me preface by saying...I go here about 3 times a week. The reason for the 2-star is not because of the food, but because their management drives me crazy at this location. 1. I've been going to this place for about 3 months now, and the toaster machine hasn't worked the entire time, so the girls that stir your salad ask if you want it toasted, then throw it in there manually while they toss the salad, ultimately resulting in a toasting process of abut 6 seconds. Result, cold/untoasted bread. FIX THE DARN MACHINE!!! 2. There is no black pepper to be found like the other Salata's, so you have to borrow it and pepper your salad in line in front of everyone, causing bottleneck in the process. Fix these two areas, goes up to 4-star. Just can't give an "A-ok" to something that's far worse than its peer stores. read more

I stopped in for a quick lunch with a few coworkers. I was pleasantly surprised to find this had an assortment of salad stuff I liked. Usually when I go to a salad bar, I often find the pre-suggested menu items to be dull and boring. This place offered more options, better flavors and great prices. We didn't want a heavy meal for dinner one night and salads usually don't fill us up, but we decided to take a chance and check this place out. Well, it was amazing. I've never been so excited to eat a salad in my life. The selection was delightfully overwhelming. No matter what you have them put in that bowl, it will turn out delicious. It's a Subway style restaurant where you walk through a line and pick what you want in your salad. If salads aren't your thing they have wraps too. There was also this really delicious tea-no sugar needed! The price was really good for the amount of food you get and it was definitely filling. We left satisfied. We plan on going back whenever we're in the salad mood, even though it's a ways away from our home. read more

Salata gives you the options you always want but don't always get. Yes, Snappy is great and probably the closest competitor. But this place is top notch. The variety is impressive and the little extras are always appreciated. If you ask for a little more of something...wow, they give it to you with a smile! It is a tad bit expensive if you get everything you want (chicken etc) but I will say, you could probably eat this for two meals. Drawback...the second meal will taste about half as good as the fresh first one. Great place for refreshing meal. read more

Best. Salads. Ever. You can get as many toppings as you want (outside of the meat) and pay one price! The salads are also huge. If you can agree with someone on toppings, they are big enough to share :) The bread is fresh and the croutons are delish. Try the ginger lime dressing. I could literally eat a cup of just that- it's so good. I have also had their salmon and they cook it to perfection. I hate going to restaurants that sell salads and sandwiches with the toppings of their choosing. I want to be the one to say what goes on my food! I need a lot of variety! Sometimes I feel like eating feta on something other than a Greek salad. Sometimes I feel like eating a wedge salad with more ingredients than the usual bacon, tomato and bleu cheese. Salad bars aren't usually so great either. The quality of their ingredients is low for the price they charge when it's all-you-can-eat. Salata is totally different. They have so many good, healthy and quality choices, AND you can get every single veggie if you feel like it. It's set up kind of like Subway. You tell the "salad artists" if you want a salad or a wrap and then you just point out everything you want to put in your salad or wrap. You also have the option of adding different kinds of chicken and seafood for a few dollars more (the chipotle chicken was great). Then they dress your salad, toss it in the bowl and send you on your way with some toasted bread. Perfect! I love this location so, so much! I am a huge fan of Salata, I used to frequent the one in Downtown Fort Worth, but after starting a new job in Dallas this is my new spot. First off, the staff is very nice. They laugh along with my weird jokes and they're incredibly efficient, even at the busiest times. As for the food, if you have never been to Salata you have to check it out. This isn't your run-of-the-mill Soup or Salad, it's the bomb.com. I get (every time because I'm super boring) a cool cucumber wrap with the spring mix, carrots, both sprouts, pumpkin seeds, pesto chicken, and the lemon vinaigrette. The dressing is so good. It's so, so good. Sometimes I get their tomato basil soup which is fantastic. It's the perfect consistency and a healthy portion. The whole thing is healthy. Or maybe it isn't, but it's better than getting fast food. While a little steep at $9 for just a wrap, I still think it's worth it. WELLLL! I am such a salad person. I love snappy salds, so when I tried Salata for the first time yesterday I was SO excited. What a fantastic selection of add-ins. So i finally made my perfect salad and sat down to eat. I ate almost the entire thing when I looked down I scooped up what i THOUGHT was a black bean. To my absolute SHOCK AND HORROR it was a BLACL BUG crawling in my salad. I was HORRIFIED. needless to say I will never be going back there and neither will my friends who completely lost their appetites immediately. I am still shocked. I tried Salata for the first time two weeks ago and I thought the place was very clean and bright. They have tons of salad mixes, toppings,and dressings very similar to Eatzi's, but times 3! I liked the herbed chicken with the balsamic dressing and my ice tea was amazing! I did not like the funky toasted garlic bread and I rarely meet a bread slice I don't love. It was dried out and not tasty! However, the reason I won't be coming back is because of they "serve" your beautiful salad creation in the same huge stainless steel bowl they mixed it in. I normally always have good experiences at any Salata I visit. I entered this location thinking my visit would be just like any other because they all offer the same options so why should I have any issues, or so I thought. I was served by the general manager, which I didn't know until after I was already annoyed and contemplated not purchasing the salad I was creating. For the past 5-6 weeks I have been getting the same salad combination, with no variation, when ever I travel and there is a Salata location near me. My salad is vegan so don't get any meat, dairy or dressings. I ask for extra tomato, cucumber, chickpeas, olives, apples and strawberries because well that's pretty much all I get in the salad! I had to ask for more of EVERYTHING I requested to be in my salad. My salads always end up looking and tasting the same, except for today, It was smaller. She was SO stingy and my request for more would result in 5-6 chickpeas or 3-4 pieces of whatever I was asking for. I am aware that I can have my bowl toppling over with ingredients but come on!!! I DO want to enjoy my $12-13 salad! I was so annoyed with her that I contemplated stopping my order right there and respectfully declining to continue my order, but I was hungry so I continued. All in all, I will never visit this location again when traveling to Dallas on business. read more

First they dropped celery and now they give you very little of everything and they hold back on the dressing big time. I tried Salata for the first time last week and really liked it. I usually go to Eatzi's for an easy salad, but this place is way better. Don't get me wrong, I love Eatzi's. This is strictly in comparison to the salad bar, which is all Salata is. It's clean and looks nice. They have tons of veggie topping options, and the meat is really good. They don't short you on it, and you can get double if you like. You get to choose between a few lettuce options, countless veggies, and then the 3 different types of chicken or salmon and shrimp. Possibly more meat, I can't remember for sure. There are probably around 8 dressings, and they will let you sample taste them. I was looking for a healthier option and got the reduced fat sun-dried tomato one. I was pleasantly surprised. I also tried the ginger lime and loved it! I will probably get that one next time. They offer you a piece of bread, and I think there are 3 different kinds. They also have croutons, tortilla strips, all that stuff. You can also get a salad wrap from all the same ingredients. I got tons of veggies and chicken and my salad was about $10. It's way bigger than Eatzi's. I took some home and had it later. Not bad at all for a seriously loaded salad- and yes, it fills you up! I am a HUGE lover of salads. But I usually prefer to make my own at home and bring in for lunch. I can never justify paying $12 to someone else to make me a salad (that I probably won't love). Especially since most restaurants have the same 'ol salads. Well, today I went to Salatas in Preston Center. And OMG!!!!! I LOOOVED LOOOOOOVED LOOOOOOOOOOOVED my salad. I was surprised at the size of the salad. And then all the toppings and the meat and the delicious dressings (I had the Ginger Lime). I walked out of there RAVING. I would have given it a full fledged 5 Stars. BUT, I found their service (two girls in particular) to be TOTALLY UNFRIENDLY WITH BELOW STANDARD FOOD SERVICE PERSONALITY. If I'm paying $14 and change for a salad and a diet coke, COME ON, CAN'T YOU AT LEAST FREAKIN SMILE!!!!???? I was with 2 co-workers and we were joking and laughing and the girl building our salad did not smile--- NOT ONCE!!!! I waited for the cashier girl to FINISH HER TEXT BEFORE SHE RANG ME UP. Yes!!! Finishing her text!!!! She did not even know I was waiting until the salad builder girl had to REPEAT what my order was so she could get her attention. And again NOT A FREAKIN SMILE!! A pedestrian salad and not inexpensive. Lettuce was fresh-ish, chicken was overcooked and dry. Dressing was bland.

Tried twice. The salad toppings are sparse at best. Had to ask for more of the "free" stuff. Basil tomato soup was ok. I think it's kindof weird that you go to the back of the store order coming to the front, then if you want a drink, you have to go back to the back of the store to fill the cup they give you. I used to come here all the time in years past and decided today to make a trip during my lunch break. I ordered online and to my surprise when I arrived by the time it said that it would be ready, it wasn't ready! So the whole point of ordering online is to have it ready by the time you walk in, not having to stand and wait while they just start making your order. Not sure why I paid an extra $2 for chicken as there was maybe three pieces today in my wrap. Also, they were ready to send me on my way when I had to ask for the soup I had ordered as they hadn't included it in the order. I never write bad reviews but this one simply deserved it! read more
