Reuben Sandwich & chips that come with
    M. O.

Got the Reuben and WOW! So much meat! Very big portion! Ate most the sandwich and was full before touching the chips. I'm an athlete with a large appetite, and it was plenty! Ate with a friend and she had half a sandwich left (in pic). Pretty fast service even with a lot of other customers, nice seating area, and free icecream!! Sandwich was delicious too

Plain Jane Potato with added grilled chicken

If you LOVE potatoes as much as I do then you have to try out these HUGE potatoes at this place. And yes their potatoes are big enough to share with someone else. They are fully loaded and you can customized any potato on the menu if there is something you don't like or want to add (some are additional fees) I like to get the Plain Jane which is butter, cheese, sour cream and green onions and I add grilled chicken to it and ask for extra butter and sour cream only because the potato is huge and I love the extra FAT !!!!

Santa Fe Chicken sandwich. It hit the spot!

I can't believe I've never done a review on this Jason's Deli location. How did THAT happen??!! I've been here a number of times. Each time I've gone, it's been a great experience. From the salad bar, to the sandwiches, everything tastes great. They use good quality items, and the servings are plentiful. The salad bar selection is HUGE and a meal in and of itself, if that's what you are looking for. Their menu is huge so it's a great place to go if everyone in your group wants something different. They even have a calorie count for their meals so there's no guessing! What?! During the "pandemic environment", they appear to still be serving the salad bar, but you tell them what you want and they serve you rather than you going to get it yourself. They are doing social distancing, etc., but you are able to dine in if you choose, and, of course, they are doing pickup, and have a drive thru area if that's what you want to do. They also do catering. What's not to love about that? If you are looking for a great meal that's reasonably priced. Give Jason's Deli a try!

Jason's Deli is always a consistent pick. I don't know why I don't come here more often. They have one of my favorite kids menus. They have pasta options other than your typical macaroni and cheese option. My boys love to eat here. This location is always packed but service is quick.

Huge "Plain Jane" baked potato & a bowl of cheddar broccoli soup!

THEY HAVE A DRIVE-THRU! 5 stars alone for that! I had a huge "Plain Jane" baked potato which is fully loaded, I could only eat half! No regrets on spending 7.99 on a baked potato! I also had a bowl of their cheddar broccoli and it doesnt beat Panera bread's but THEY HAVE A DRIVE-THRU!

Lite Ruben option which is less meat and less expensive.

I ordered the pastrami sandwich, the pastrami was dry and tough. The meat proportion was excellent. I will try other items on the menu.

After a few days of eating nothing but fried food and beignets, this was the high protein, fresh salad I needed in my life. Their lamb meatballs are delicious, I love how spicy they are so there's just a little bit of a kick that's balanced out by the creamy tzatziki and crazy feta. This location was clean, bright, and spacious. The line was a little long when we arrived around lunchtime but the staff kept things moving quickly. BUT they have recently gone up in price and their portions were cut in half. I ordered kid's meals for my two girls and they were the saddest little things I've ever received from there. I was told this was the new portion...it was less than half the food they used to get. I had to make them a second dinner when I got home. I'm much more likely to forgive if it doesn't evolve leaving my kids hungry. I will not be going back or catering from them anymore. I'm not mad about it, more disappointed and sad. Any place that is known for their oysters will always get my vote, even when they opened during the height of COVID. They still managed to push along and became one of the city's most well-known seafood destinations. Fast forward to 2025 and it's now closed. While I'm disappointed, I can't say I'm surprised. The place went from being the new kid in town to looking dated in a short handful of years. The staff was always a mixed bag, with subpar service outpacing the occasional outstanding experiences. It was always so spacious in here but rarely full, that I never understood the need for the hostess to give my large groups of people a hard time about not making reservations. (#1) The oysters are and will always be the star of the show. I love a good raw oyster and they seemed to have a decent batch each time, however the charbroiled ones were the ones to get. They were buttery, a little messy, and heavily seasoned with lots of salty parmesan on top. It was sometimes the only worth ordering given how inconsistent the rest of the menu was. Some other go-tos were the seafood pasta, lobster mac, and even the occasional gator tacos but even those dishes had their bad days. I was actually pretty impressed with their ribeye, but was quite disappointed with the boudin balls, gumbo, and some of their fried shrimp. In addition to service snafus and inconsistent food, the prices were always a tough pill to swallow. I'm aware seafood will forever carry a premium price tag, but when other seafood places charge a lot less for better quality output, then it becomes a point of contention. While I do hope they find a reason to re-open in Baton Rouge, I think I'll stick to their original location in Metairie.
