These sandwiches are the best. Always fresh, always affordable. Did I mention tasty? They are one of the tastiest sandwiches I've ever had.

PJs is one of Downtown's original coffee shops. This coffee company started out in New Orleans, so…read moreit is Louisiana-local. They are conveniently located at the corner of Convention and Lafayette Streets, right by the beautiful Lafayette Park. They are by the Shaw Center for the Arts, and two quality hotels. They are near it all downtown! Coffee and teas are the main attraction of course. I love their lattes year round, and in summer there are the beautiful velvet ices and iced coffees. I like to check out the rotating specials, which often are interesting and different. Last time I visited they were featuring honey lavender drinks, which make a most excellent velvet ice. They always have some nice baked goods on hand, from savory to sweet. There are also some other nice snacks on hand. My personal favorite is the dark chocolate covered espresso beans! The interior is cozy, and has a great view of the outdoors. There is a small courtyard outside with outdoor tables, but I think if one wants to be outdoors the Shaw Center Courtyard or Lafayette Park are the places to be.

The location was across from our hotel and that was the only good thing about this place…read more First we had no idea where the Barista was- we waited quite a bit- we knew there was someone because there were about 3 police officers with coffee sitting at the tables. When the guy finally came out- Super unfriendly and the coffee and drink were mid- and it appeared the guy working was just done with us- but he was sure nice to the local police officers that left a little before we did as his whole demeanor changed. If your hotel is surrounded by hotels....guess what you are probably going to get a lot of out of non locals and maybe what a big chunk of your profits come from-be nicer and make better drinks.

While I didn't see the best ratings for Milford's I decided to give it a try anyways. It's…read moreconveniently located and because I was staying in the hotel, I had a voucher for a free glass of champagne. The champagne was really good, cold and crisp, exactly what I needed after a long day of work. One morning, I was pressed for time and wanted something for breakfast so I go the salmon bagel and a cup of coffee (which was also free because I was staying in the hotel). The bagel itself was good but VERY salty, it came on a everything bagel with boursin cream cheese, spinach and capers. I usually ask for a plain bagel whenever I get a bagel with smoked salmon but wanted to try something different. I have a feeling that this would have made a difference. I ended up deconstructing and only eating the salmon, cream cheese, spinach and capers on one half of the bagel, this made it a tad bit less saltier. The coffee was also good considering I got to make it myself so no complaints there. Do note, that if you stay at the Watermark you do get a lot of perks at the Milford (free glass of champagne and free coffee any time throughout the day).

Our bill for 2 breakfast sandwiches and 1 OJ, came to $22. Whatever they are trying to pass as eggs here, is not cutting it. Just take a look at the pictures I took of our food... Breakfast sandwiches aren't typically made with "fluffy" eggs, because it doesn't fit well on a sandwich, and is too large to bite into! The eggs here are like 4 inches tall, mushy and almost unrecognizable as an egg. My boyfriend took one bite of his food, got up from the table and spit it into the trashcan. The texture was revolting. (He ordered the Turkey Scrambler). I am speechless... and still hungry. Go to McDonalds down the street. You'll eat better and spend alot less money.

Our table was ready when we got there soon after we were seated the waiter came to take our drink order. The place is decorated nicely with lots of green and flowers beautiful decorative light fixtures, tables, chairs and booths were very nice ....they had plenty of servers... the place got busier as time went (lunch-crowd) The waiter took our food order and had to explain some of the food since all dishes were listed in Cuban. But he remained calm and took his time and answered all questions we had. The food was delicious.. By now the place was full ... They managed it all and got everyone checked out quick but not rushed ! I will definitely return ! Great place for lunch ... maybe dinner next time ! Did I say the food was great... prices average

I finally had the chance to try Elisa's after hearing good things, and it definitely lived up to…read morethe hype. I ordered the ropa vieja, and it reminded me of a really well-made pot roast that's been braised until it's fall-apart tender. It paired perfectly with the rice and beans. What impressed me the most wasn't actually the beef, it was the congrí. I honestly expected the rice and beans to be more of a filler side, but they were packed with flavor and were enjoyable all on their own. To me, that's the sign of a kitchen that pays attention to every component on the plate instead of focusing only on the main entrée. That's something I really appreciate. A great meal isn't just about one standout item. Every component should be seasoned and prepared with the same level of care, and Elisa's does exactly that. The food isn't trying to reinvent Cuban cuisine or impress you with flashy presentation. They're simply focused on making authentic, delicious food consistently, and it shows. The interior was beautiful, the portions were satisfying, the prices were reasonable, and the service was excellent. There are several other dishes I already want to come back and try, which says a lot after just one visit. If they continue serving food with this level of consistency, Elisa's will definitely become a regular stop for us.
