This is one of my favorite sandwich spots on LSU campus! I love the hippie free spirited atmosphere and vibe! I always get the dank pizza sub on garlic bread, add extra garlic butter, lettuce, and banana peppers to set it off! Ms Vickie's spicy dill pickle chips and their "cotton mouth cure"strawberry dragonfruit or orange cardamom turmeric in house made teas. The services is great! It gets a little hard to order from lots of restaurants because in my opinion it seems like a lot of them cater to pork and beef. Which are foods I don't eat. Today my wife, son, & I decided to do a blind taste test of 3 local sub shops we've never had before that we've heard great things about: Cheba Hut, Jersey Mike's, and Inga's. Our results were all similar; we all agreed that JM was the best of the bunch. My wife and I liked Inga's more than Cheba Hut, while I preferred Cheba. A solid sub shop! I loved the idea behind it, and the theme was very present throughout... menu items, table order number, whole restaurant decorations, and drink selections! I got the Magic Mushroom on wheat bread for a little bit of a healthier option, and it was delicious. My bf got the G-13, and he said it was good! I also got the Cheba Rita, which was a little strong for my liking, and he got a Mrs. Parker, which we both enjoyed. We both ate our small subs and were totally full after. We went on a Saturday at noon, and there was no line when ordered and our food came out within 5 minutes. Cheba Hut is located in a complex off Burbank, so there is plenty of parking. I really wanted to like this place, but after my 3rd visit, I don't think I will return, for 3 reasons: 1. The food is quite overpriced. I paid $10+ for just a sandwich, no chips, no drink. 2. The food only tastes average. The quality of the chicken seemed equal to Subway. 3. For my takeout order, they would not let me have a water to go. This was a new one for me! I have had takeout from hundreds of restaurants, never have I been denied a to go water. For these reasons, I probably won't return to Cheba. read more

My all time favorite place in Baton Rouge to grab a sandwich!! This is the yummiest place ever. I have tried 6 different sandwiches now and I love all of them. I tried the spicy club, Buffalo chicken, chicken bacon ranch, ham swiss pineapple, teriyaki chicken and the BLT. All of these were great and I do not think I can choose a favorite. I also have had the garlic bread and the pretzel nuggets and these were delicious as well. The menu is broad and thankfully translated for those of us that don't get the cannabis references. To add to this, the whole "toasted" theme is pretty unique and creative. If you like a good submarine sandwich, you won't be disappointed. I believe they also have an option for nachos made with Doritos (though I have not tried them). I ordered on the app which was super easy and was given an allotted pickup time. I was about 5 minutes late (after the allotted pick up time) and still ended up waiting about 10 minutes for food - but they were slammed, so I totally get it. When I got home with my French dip, I was pleasantly surprised at the flavor of the dip and the size of the half sandwich.
