This place is a small hole in the wall joint in a strip mall. They serve daily plate specials was well as a standard menu of burgers and po boys. The food here is pretty good and fairly cheap. The burgers are made with real meat and hand formed. No frozen burger patties. The portions are pretty big, so don't order the double burger unless your REALLY hungry. Sides are also offered: fried okra, French fries, onion rings, poppers (all frozen and fried). There are also daily special sides like spaghetti and cheese on the café bar. Positives: The burger was really good. Fresh and juicy. The spaghetti and cheese was AWESOME. I'd get this again. Servers were very friendly and prices cheap. Negatives: The sodas were all flat, they were out of over 1/2 the sides (at noon), my order was not correct and it took three trips to the counter to get all of my order. I'd go back for the food, not order a drink, and have low expecations for the service.

Location: Louisiana I traveled to Louisiana to see a friend and celebrate Mardi Gras, he took me here when I said I wanted some good cooking, and this place did not disappoint. Some soul food for sure. Family owned spot and parking shouldn't be too much of a problem, located in a mini mall. When you first walk in, picture a deli type set up, just like subway has it with tables all around. The main kitchen is in the back and its family owned. It was cool seeing the owner with his sons helping him run the business. Really friendly guy who we got to share a couple of words with. Said he had visited San Diego with his family over in the Lemon Grove area. Small world. Great service and good quality food. Deep fried, but great deep fried dishes. haha. We went HAM on our orders. Shared our plates with the four of us. Southern comfort and food coma for sure. I ordered their seafood combo plate. Soooooo good. It came with toast, fried cat fish, fried shrimp on top of a bed of french fries. and ordered a side of fried chicken. Delicious. We also got Hush puppies, green beans, pork loin over smothered mashed potatoes & gravy, hot link po boy, corn, and fried okra. One of the best meals I've had as a traveler. I love these mom & pop shops over the fancy industrial owned business. More love in their food if anything. Definitely going back here if I'm ever back in Louisiana again.

Mrs renee gave us a sample of there mac and cheese and it was to die for by far the best had me hooked

Five Guys - A Five Guys cheeseburger, milkshake and regular order of fries sits on a table inside a Five Guys restaurant.

They don't have a drive-through so I had to go inside. Being brand new, everything was nice and clean, but I was surprised that they didn't have more patrons. It was pretty obvious that the staff was not totally up to speed just yet; the light kitchen staff looked busy:, on the order side of the counter there were four or five employees standing around doing nothing; two ladies on the pick up side handled my entire order. The lady tried hard to make a milkshake for me, and it did taste good, but it was very thin. The burger was very good, but the Cajun fries were over seasoned (which is saying a lot, since I grew up around here and like things really spiced up) and soggy. I ate about half the fries, and after finishing the burger, it felt very heavy in my belly all night long. Maybe in a couple months I'll give them another try, but I'll be sure to tell them to make the fries extra crispy. I gave them one extra star for not using Styrofoam.
