When I found out that Five Guys had opened a location in Gonzales, I was anxious to go there. They had been open for only a few days, and I was unsuccessful placing an order with the mobile app. The phone number for the new location was on the app, so I just called in an order from another place that I was at very close by. They don't have a drive-through so I had to go inside. Being brand new, everything was nice and clean, but I was surprised that they didn't have more patrons. It was pretty obvious that the staff was not totally up to speed just yet; the light kitchen staff looked busy:, on the order side of the counter there were four or five employees standing around doing nothing; two ladies on the pick up side handled my entire order. The lady tried hard to make a milkshake for me, and it did taste good, but it was very thin. The burger was very good, but the Cajun fries were over seasoned (which is saying a lot, since I grew up around here and like things really spiced up) and soggy. I ate about half the fries, and after finishing the burger, it felt very heavy in my belly all night long. Maybe in a couple months I'll give them another try, but I'll be sure to tell them to make the fries extra crispy. I gave them one extra star for not using Styrofoam. read more
