I'm struggling to understand some of the negative reviews. Overall, this was a 5 star experience. I personally can't see how someone wouldn't pick this over the competitors all around it. I went to the soda fountain and (perk one) they have the "good ice!" The also have Coke Zero (perk two). Why drink a diet drink with a burger and fries, do you ask? Eh, I don't like to waste my calories on drinks. Food is a different story. The service was also excellent. The cashier, who also served my meal, was very friendly and helpful in choosing what I would order. The atmosphere was very comfortable. There were not many people inside, so it was pretty peaceful, and clean. I liked the futuristic warehouse vibe. I really loved the sauce bar! Nothing irks me more than not getting enough sauce for dipping. Here, you have several choices, OR, you could try one of each! Finally, the food. Hand cut fries have always been my favorite kind, and these did not disappoint at all. It was a hefty serving, and they were expertly fried. Apparently you can get any sandwich as a slider in order of two or three, depending on your appetite. I opted to try the chicken sliders, mild, because I'm a wimp when it comes to heat. There was really good flavor, though if I have one critique it would be that the chicken was a tad dry. That didn't stop me from devouring them, though. I would get a regular chicken sandwich next time, and keep the sliders in burger form. So thankful to have atomic burger close by in Baton Rouge! Their vegetarian beyond burger gets me through the week. The price is higher than the other fast food chains around because the quality is THAT much better. I truly hope they never get rid of the vegetarian option because it's one of the best substitute burgers I've ever had. I've probably been here 15 times in 2 years. Out of all of those times, ONCE they got my order wrong and gave me a real burger. So just be sure to check if you're going!! The receipt prints "veggie". This place has one of the best burgers I've ever tasted. The prices can be pretty crazy, but I can understand it to a point since they are a smaller business. With that said, I wish that the portion size for the fries was larger and that the drink size was larger. For the amount that you pay, I think people would feel like they are getting a better deal if the sizes of those items were increased. Nice place for a great burger. Do yourself a favor, go and grab yourself a Bacon Jam Burger (You're welcome!) and fries. You will NOT regret it! The bacon jam is mild, not overly oniony. Just to put it into preservative, I don't normally eat onions on my burgers or sandwiches. But this I LOVED! The fries are also really good. If you haven't been here, let me explain that are several sauces that you can get to add to your sandwich, burger, sandwich r dip your fries in. They range from Spicy ketchup, to garlic aioli, to my all time favorite: Truffle Mayo!! If these don't hit the spot for you, they have more! They also have a nice variety of milk shakes. We had the Butter Pecan, and it was pretty good. Now, here are a couple other things we tried and my take on them: Mushroom Swiss Burger, good but nothing else verily special. I think it had a bit too much cheese for me. Next, the Chicken Sandwich. I took a bite, and didn't eat the rest. As much as I hate to say it... I just didn't like it at all. Also, no idea what's up with the SUPER THIN and QUICKLY FLINSY PAPER CUPS!!?? Half way through your drink, your cup feels like it's going to give way to the flow of liquid inside! Ugh!! Atomic Burger, you can do better. Please do better!! Now, back to the good stuff. The building itself was s bright, clean, and has a great outside patio area. Loved it! I couldn't decide if I wanted a burger or a chicken sandwich, luckily they had a slider duo option that allowed me to get both. I got the slider duo with the atomic burger and the mild chicken sandwich. I made it a combo with a bottled water and edamame. The food came relatively quick. The burger slider was just ok with a lot of sauce which seemed to make the bun a bit soggy and it was also a bit on the salty side. The chicken slider was good... however the chicken was the size of a nugget and I found myself at the end with bun and no chicken. The disappointment of the meal was the edamame. There were cold pieces and some were hot, more cold than hot. After getting so many cold pieces, I thought to myself, I should've gotten fries. Jam Burger is my fav, the bacon jam is always good. Downfall is the price, paying 8$ for a burger without fries. As many times as I have passed Atomic burger in Metairie I have never stopped by. Well now there is one in Baton Rouge so I decided to give it a try. I give a five guys/Freddy's kind of vibe to this place. The patties are sort of thin but not steak burgers like Freddy's but everything is designed like five guys where you pay for each item a la carte style. The drive thru is currently cut off and they have limited hours but I got in and out pretty fast. I did get a meal with a shake and it came out five minutes after my food did. This bothered me a little bit especially when I got the shake and it didn't taste very good. The guy next to me got a shake as well and he was pretty much done with his meal before it was brought out to him. The burgers have a lot of pepper for the seasoning. Overall it was a good burger. Honestly wanted to give a 3.5 but we know yelp doesn't do half stars so I rounded up due to the good customer service. read more

I have such a love hate relationship with atomic. I feel like they are inconsistent so I have a different opinion every time even though I usually get the same thing when I go. I like the atomic sliders a lot. The sauce is really yummy and really makes the burger stand out from other places. I don't love the fries or their edamame. The fries are always greasy like the oil is too cold when they put them in so instead of frying crispy they just leak oil. The chicken sandwich is really hit or miss. The new Atomic Burger that opened up on Burbank attracts a sizable crowd. The place is closed pretty early and the drive-thru is closed earlier than that. The parking lot was filled when I went there for my first time. The quality of the food was really good. There are four main flavors: the Atomic Burger, the Green Chile, the Jamburger, and the Mushroom Swiss. I got two sliders. One slider was the Mushroom Swiss Slider and the other one was the green Chile Slider. These sliders really were interesting in terms of flavor. However, I think that the price of these sliders were a little pricey. The two sliders were 6-8 dollars, and one burger was 6-8 dollars. The meal added in the French fries and a drink for another 4 dollars. Additionally, the shakes were another 4-6 dollars. This can get really pricey really quickly. I would advise to watch out for this. The extra ingredients also were worth close to a dollar which can really add up. The service was good. We went up to place our orders, and the server was really nice and helped us choose since we were new there. We got our orders and put our names in and then went to take a seat. The wait wasn't long for our orders which was nice. However, the waiters would yell out your name and walk around to find you. I think that there could be a way more efficient method of doing this such as providing a number to the orders or doing something akin to that. For this reason, I had to take away a star. Additionally, the supplies at the soft drink and sauce station would be running low and not be replaced as often. This leads to people paying for something and not being able to obtain that product without asking the servers to replace it. This could have been that particular day, but people had to wait for some of their soft drinks that they ordered. My main love for this place comes from the choices of sauces that you can get. There is a sauce station at this place where you can get a cup of sauce, picked from 5 sauces. The five sauces are the A.B. Sauce, Sriracha Mayo, Truffle Mayo, Spicy Ketchup, and the Roasted Garlic Aioli. These sauces are unique in flavor and should be tried. The only issue with some of them is that the sauce can be too thick and hard to eat after consuming a burger. I would recommend coming here to try the sauces. read more

After friends commenting in disbelief that I have still never been here, I was out on that side of town so I finally headed over to Atomic Burger. I decided to keep it simple this time as they have a few different things on their menu. I had heard my friends say there are several different ways you can order, but I kept it simple - atomic burger combo with the AB sauce. I have to say - they packed the bag quite well. I had about a 15 minute drive home, and nothing had spilled or fallen out its packaging. However, there was no AB sauce in the bag. I had expected that with the fries. The burger was delicious. About three napkins worth of juiciness, a nice slice of cheese, and a lot of flavor in the meat. I'm not sure if I actually could taste flavor of the AB sauce on it, but it was a nice entree. The amount of fries really could be decreased as I feel like that was two servings. I know not everyone would fuss about that and they were good, but I'm glad I started with the burger and didn't nibble on the car ride home. I paid $12.63 for a combo (and they forgot the sauce), and I'm not really sure the meal was worth that price. I'm happy to make it a place in my occasional rotation and try another burger style and sauce (and check the bag before I leave). I also really hope the plethora of college students who live right there are learning not to go shell out that much for fast food frequently as well, they'll spend all their paycheck there with just a few meals. My friends were right, it's good... enough... but For the price, I'd rather pick up a craft burger at one of the other places in town. read more

I've been wanting to try atomic since before they came to Baton Rouge. I'm not really a burger gal, but this is everything I want in my burger. A soft brioche like bun, fully cooked non greasy meat patties, the right amount of toppings, and cheese, very well seasoned with the right amount of sauce! To make it the best everything is fresh, and you can tell a lot of love goes into the food, nothing tastes canned or fast foodish at all. I've only been through the drive through, and their menu board is very difficult to read at night. The staff is very friendly though if you ask about the fine print you can't read. Your fries come with a complimentary sauce, and the first time I came through I wasn't offered any. I asked about it the next time and they said you have to request it. I tried three the garlic aoli, truffle mayo, and the A.B. Sauce. The A.B. Sauce was the winner for me! Their fries are pretty delicious, skin on crunchy but soft and salted. They give you a decent amount. As for the reviews saying their pricey, it's definitely true, you're looking at around the $6-$8 range for a burger by itself. If you want to upgrade to a meal it's almost $5 more, and if you want to upgrade that to a special nitrogen shake that's almost $4 more as well! It adds up and fast. I had their s'mores shake special, and I didn't feel it was anything amazing I would have to have again. This has been around for a good few months now and tbh we haven't been to check it out yet per the mediocre reviews. We decided to try it tonight after a pregnancy craving for a greasy burger struck. I'll first say that I was starving and really enjoyed my overall experience. My husband complained of the size of the burger (due to HIGH price$$$). We also got water cups and split a side of fries instead of making our burgers a combo (because that's almost $5 extra- what?????). It's fast food.... fast food should never be $15 per person sorry. I got the "Jamburger" to try something fun and different. The "jam" part was gross and they put like a pound of it on my burger (I took off most of it, as pictured). That's what I get for being adventurous I guess! BUT the sauces..... omg. I've been looking for a GOOD garlic mayo in BR for a while now. I FOUND IT YALL. The garlic aioli and truffle mayo were life changing (to this preggo at least). I would come back just for the truffle mayo... and def will. I wanted a really good milkshake and Atomic advertises there Liquid Nitrogen Milkshakes like they are the best thing in the world so I gave it a go. They didn't have flavors that blew me away the day I went but definitely some great solid choices plus a few seasonal rotating flavors. I went for a cookies and cream situation.... the shakes are one size about a medium... IT WAS $6. I wasn't excited to pay $6 for a medium-sized cookies and cream milkshake but I would be lying if I said it wasn't delicious. It was. After living in Los Angeles, even all those years ago, this place is like it ran into swerved through In-n-Out and crashed into a Johnny Rockets. Two burger places that are not in Louisiana but are all over California. Now, I live in the Eastern part of Baton Rouge parish (county for all you non-Louisianan's reading this) by the I-12 Corridor and Millerville. While compared to SoCal, driving 15 minutes is a long drive around here (no joke). I took my 11yo son out for lunch on Sunday Nov 17th, it was a nice warm sunny day and drove (all the way) down to the corner of Lee and Burbank. I drove past plenty of other places I could have stopped at but I wanted to "make the drive". I should mention getting into this place was not well thought out and that may be as Rebecca mentions, there aren't a lot people here. Location, Location, Location, what were the investors thinking? If they're even local. To get into this place, it's best to turn off of West Bound Burnbank at the light before Lee and then turn right down a road by the new apartments and then into the parking lot. If you're coming from East on Burbank or either way on Lee, you'll have to go through the Rouse's parking lot to snake your way over. Like I said, you have to work to get there. The food better be worth it. We pull in the lot and notice there's a lot of cars, even my son suggested that maybe it's overflow parking for the people in the apartments. Nope, it was the staff, there were A LOT of people working here, there were more staff than patrons. Not a good sign in my book. When you walk in, you are greeted with a seemingly tall ceiling but with an unequally smaller dining room, there is an outdoor area where they have roll-up glass doors like Fat Cow on Highland, it kind of resembles a converted gas station feel. There's a huge sign on one wall that says "Feeling Saucy" suggesting they have a sauce bar. Hmm... American's generally don't like that, mixing Ketchup with your Mayo (that's a European thing). Danny Glover (the actor) liked that concept so much he tried to start his own chain of french fry restaurants in Los Angeles, one near UCLA that featured specialty sauces to dip your fries in. Sadly it failed. I wonder if Atomic Burger knows about this.... Upon walking up to the order counter, you'll notice immediately that they serve beer by the register as they have 4 taps in plain site. I looked up at the order board and notice, an In-N-Out like menu, simple and to the point. You pick your format 1) a double patty, 2) a triple patty, 3) a turkey burger 4) double slider or 5) triple sliders. Then you pick your style and then customize it. A basic double burger will set you back $6.99, then adding fries and a coke (or shake) is another $3.89 for a total of $10.88 per basic order. That's 25% more than the biggest burger deal at Wendy's. So the food better be good right? I ordered the double mushroom and Swiss Burger and my son ordered the double green Chile Burger, he's 11yo but he sometimes eats more than me. Our total was $23.92 with tax. Walking over to the soda machine to get our fill, and I spot the sauce bar, and after we sit down I go back to get my sauce on. I squirted some garlic mayo and some Siracha ketchup into another cup and remembered getting pomme frites (french fried potato squares) in a paper bag at a train station in Germany as a kid, and mixing my ketchup with the mayo, so good. When I did that my son was like, dad what are you doing? He did not want any part, and unfortunately that may be the reaction of others who don't know. It's actually kinda good. We got our burgers relatively quickly on the same type of metal tray Mooyah serve's theirs on. My son ate his burger while I always eat my fries first. Fries for me are like crack. I can't keep away. These fries were really good, they put WAY too much salt on them, but they honestly reminded me of Boardwalk Fries from my youthful days in Maryland, where you could get a 32oz cup of freshly cut fries with some vinegar and Old Bay seasoning on them. Hands down probably some of the best fries I've ever had living here in the south. They are big, just right amount of crunch and bursting with flavor, too bad there aren't more in the order. My burger was good but it looked sad. Two patties and crammed between two buns and the usual full dressing. It was good, but for the money I was expecting a bigger / thicker patty. It was just "meh" in appearance and delivery in a aluminum foil wrapper. So the fries were Yay and the burger was Meh, so 3 stars for these guys. My son who is becoming a reviewer in his own right, out of his own initiative said, dad I'd give this place 3 out of 5. And so it is. We will be back with the wife unit to see if it's improved and to get her take if it's worth the drive. I'd say go see for yourself. Ok really. How is a damn fast food place this friggin good? Seriously. Like I hate Five Guys, I cant stand McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's, whatever. What sets this burger apart? I'll tell you friends. You ready? THE F**KING BREAD. Ps also the sauces. And a really juicy patty with a crispy outer meat shell. Ok, all of it. And then you eat the fries and they have to be twice cooked because no actual fry gets that golden and crispy and perfectly salted. It's like they're begging you to eat them out of the bag in the drive thru. But you have to wait until you get home because dipping them in Truffle Mayo or Sriracha Ketchup in the car is an accident waiting to happen. So what burger do you get? All of them. Either at once with the slider combo or go every day for a week and try them all. I like the Green Chile burger, my main squeeze could eat the Bacon Jam burger everyday. And he has. I was excited to try Atomic Burger when I heard they were coming to Baton Rouge. I tried the Atomic Burger, fries, and chocolate shake. The burger was delicious and flavorful and I like the chocolate shake. The fries, however, left a little to be desired. I generally like the natural cut fries that still have the skin on them and these were no exception. While the fries were good flavor-wise nearly half them were crusty overcooked bits that looked like they were the bottom of the barrel - all broken and charred. I've been back to Atomic Burger a few times after my initial visit and each time about half of the fries were completely disgusting and inedible. In addition, service is pretty slow. I've going in for takeaway and have waited nearly 25 minutes and each time I've gone to the drive-thru it has been a 20 minute wait minimum.
