I was excited to try Atomic Burger when I heard they were coming to Baton Rouge. I tried the Atomic Burger, fries, and chocolate shake. The burger was delicious and flavorful and I like the chocolate shake. The fries, however, left a little to be desired. I generally like the natural cut fries that still have the skin on them and these were no exception. While the fries were good flavor-wise nearly half them were crusty overcooked bits that looked like they were the bottom of the barrel - all broken and charred. I've been back to Atomic Burger a few times after my initial visit and each time about half of the fries were completely disgusting and inedible. In addition, service is pretty slow. I've going in for takeaway and have waited nearly 25 minutes and each time I've gone to the drive-thru it has been a 20 minute wait minimum. I'm hoping the crazy wait times goes down and the fry quality improves! read more

These fries man. The burger here is up there with the top "smashed" beef patty burger joints in town - and equal footing with home town favorites like Curbside. Maybe... Atomic is definitely in the top 10 burger places in town, easy - close to top 5. But man, these fries. And dipping sauces DIPPING SAUCE BAR you have to come inside and try out these flavors. Atomic Burger is a poor quality imitation of McDonald's hamburgers with even less flavor. The only discernable flavor in the "Atomic Burger" was salt. It was dry and totally flavorless--what happened to the "Atomic Sauce"? The fries were soggy but did taste good even though they were WAY WAY WAY oversalted. I'm not even sure it was beef because beef has SOME flavor. It was more like a Krystal ratburger only at ten times the price. All in all, "Atomic Burger" isn't atomic at all. It's more like a McDonald's double hamburger with lettuce and tomato at quadruple the price and a tenth of the flavor and value. I'm giving this place a 1 because I can't give a 0 based on our experience tonight. First of all, the staff did not seem to know how to work the register, and we were incorrectly charged $32.00 for a couple of sliders and fries! Someone had to come unlock the register and change the total, which I feel was still overpriced for what we ordered. Then, the single drink ice machine for the place was not working and an employee had to come out and stand on a chair with a scoop and break up ice in this new machine. The food was greasy and basically flavorless The fries were soggy and soaked in grease. BUT, after we ate, the MAIN REASON WE WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS ATOMIC BURGER IS BECAUSE OF THE FOLLOWING: Since the food was so greasy, we had to go to the restroom to wash our hands before leaving. To our surprise, the restroom door was LOCKED! How the hell could Atomic Burger owners, managers, and Baton Rouge Code Enforcement approve a restaurant establishment with a LOCKING RESTROOM for a seating capacity of around 100 people? Really? A single-file restroom for this place? That means that if someone is in the restroom and locks the door everyone has to wait! OUTRAGEOUS!!!! What about the cooks and employees? Where do they wash their hands? There was a line of three people in front of me to get in the restroom. This is totally unacceptable. We were extremely disappointed, and disgusted to have to walk out the place with greasy, dirty hands. No eating establishment this size should ever have a locking restroom that only accommodates ONE PERSON at a time. It makes me sick to think that maybe our food was prepared by employees that haven't washed their hands for several hours! What about the employee that had to open the ice machine and put her hands in there with that scoop to break up ice? Were her hands clean? This place definitely needs to be reported to Baton Rouge Code Enforcement, the State Board of Health, and the city planning division that approved the construction of a new restaurant with locking restroom doors. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE! This place will definitely be a one-hit-wonder and can't imagine anyone eating in a place where you can't wash your hands without standing in a long, time-consuming line. I've been waiting to try this place for months, and this visit did not disappoint! I came during their slow opening week, where they had limited hours (12-3 & 6-9), and the drive-thru was closed off for Saturday. We arrived around 12:05 and the place was completely packed! However, the staff was friendly and worked diligently to get orders out. We only waited about 12 minutes to get our food. The burgers were very flavorful and well seasoned, the buns were nice, all of the veggies were fresh and crisp, and the fries were fantastic! I also really enjoyed the spicy ketchup, but they have a ton of other condiments to try at their sauce station. And of course... the liquid nitrogen milkshakes! I tried the vanilla and it was perfect. Nice, creamy, and flavorful. I can't wait to go back again! read more

Something is off with Atomic Burger. My wife and I are truly some of the most loyal atomic burger customers in BR. We eat here so much, our friends make fun of us for it. I often argue that the Jamburger from Atomic is the best burger in BR, hands down. That being said, the past 2 visits have been such a disappointment. The primary culprit of dissatisfaction: the bun. The bun from Atomic USED to be amazing. It was one of the 3 main reasons I would argue that this was the best burger in town! When we visited a couple weeks ago, our burgers came with regular, store bought, (Great Value?) buns. Nothing special at all. We thought, "perhaps they ran out of their normal buns. No big deal" We visited again this evening, and I asked the gentleman if the normal buns were back, and he said "yes." Nope! Store buns. These Atomic-loving people were so sad. In addition, something is funky with the fries. Way too greasy lately. What's happening Atomic? Did someone hurt you? Offend you? Why these changes? I prefer this location over the one in New Orleans. This new location is more airy. I like the fact they have a garage door that they keep up. Being one of my favorite near campus burger places, Atomic burger has great quality and service to compliment their overall restaurant. Their nitrogen shakes are fantastic as well, they have new shake flavors that change often same with burgers and sandwiches. My go to is usually the green Chile burger or the mushroom swiss but I decided to try the Nashville hot chicken sandwich which was delicious!! It was a seasonal sandwich with a spicy breaded chicken breast that was juicy and I got fries on the side! Honestly the fries are okay but the star of the show for Atomic burger is all the condiments they have for you to use! Truffle mayo( I can eat spoon full of this), Sriracha mayo, spicy ketchup, garlic aoli and more all for the use with fries or to dip your burger in! I used to really enjoy Atomic but the quality has definitely declined. The burger and fries were tasty and I would probably eat here again but it wasn't excellent and definitely not 5 stars. The restaurant was not very clean. Dirty table tops and counters. Crumbs and grease all around the food tray shelf thing. Friendly staff though. They used to sell beer and now they don't. Our first visit tonight. First off....get some dang lights in the parking lot!! You can't see squat at night normally and it was raining and you can't see squat times ten. We almost left because we couldn't see the entrance to the drive through and couldn't tell how to park in the lot. All that aside....the menu seemed very limited and expensive. A combo with fries and a drink was $12 and for a fast food burger IDK...it was going to have to be really tasty. We had a mushroom swiss and a regular atomic. The mushroom swiss was the winner between the two. I'd try a slider but they were $3 and that goes back to expensive...but I'd give the place another go because I want a milkshake. I really don't understand why the modern burger joints like to overcomplicate the burger ordering process and hype it up to something that (in the end) was not really all that hype-worthy. I've been here two times already and both times were both an underwhelming experience. While Chik-fil-a was filled with people + long drive-thru lines, this place was pretty empty close to the 6 o'clock hour. It got me shrugging my shoulders as to why aren't people more excited about this place? Burgers were small with big prices. They are just meat patties between a bun, y'all! Come on! Why after all of my toppings and such, my tiny burger was $8? Give me an average-size cheeseburger that taste amazing and I will pay you $8 for it. The ordering system, in front of a very impatient young man (the 2nd time I went) got me a bit annoyed. There were also a bunch of employees crammed into what looked like a very small kitchen. The sauce bar was sad... none of the sauces made me want to jump up and down. Honestly, I just wanted to sit down and frown because I paid waaaaaay too much for a 3 small burgers, fries and a shake. I took away 3 stars due to a sanitary issue they have. Otherwise, the place would be 5 stars for me based on how good the spicy chicken sandwich is and how nice the workers are. I'm not a repeat customer because their (nice) workers keep the same disposable gloves on for handling food as they do for handling money. The girl was nice but she went from the togo order station where she was handling money from the togo window, then she came and took my order and dealt with money there, and then without changing gloves she picked up my hamburger and my friend's chicken sandwich to put them in the little wrapper thing. That's gross in 2022. What is the point of the gloves if you're just going to keep them on as you switch stations? Having said that I get the burger sometimes and they're decent. Not bad! We enjoyed our first visit to the super popular Atomic Burger. They have the beyond burger so I was super excited. It was cooked perfectly and you can dress with one of their four "styles" or as you would like. They have a great sauce station with several items to choose from --- bbq, truffle mayo, Aioli and more. The fries were a bit greasy but tasty. They also have edamame as a side. My daughter throughly enjoyed her cheeseburger. I would like to try one of the shakes next time. Service was super friendly and they kept things moving. Parking is limited, so I would recommend planning accordingly. We would definitely return. read more

Pretty cool spot in College Town offering Burgers and Shakes. Burgers don't look like much size wise but very filling surprisingly. They have a "sauce bar" that has a number of different condiments to choose from as simple as a BBQ sauce to Garlic Aioli. You can add to your burger or use to dips your fries! They make their shakes with liquid nitrogen and it always wows the kiddos to see all the smoke. I had the Jamburger which was really flavorful and supposedly their fan favorite. Greasy and perfectly seasoned, Atomic Burger serves up their burgers in perfect portions and flavor profiles with their toppings. I like the jamburger best (bacon onion jam, y'all so good), but would recommend the sliders to folks looking to try them all. I'm pretty picky about my fries. AB's are perfect; crispy on the outside with soft tater in the middle. They're not mushy and hold up well to dip in to the wide variety of dipping sauces AB offers. Delicious burger! I had the turkey burger served in the "Jamburger" style which is a delicious onion jam. My husband loved his beef burger served "Green Chile" style. The fries were crisp and tasty. There is a sauce bar as well and we enjoyed tasting the sriracha mayo and aioli. The burgers were served promptly and were hot off the grill. They weren't too massive and not small - a fair size for the price. We also got a cookies and cream shake. It was good, but not mind-blowing.
