Waited a little while to try this place out but have been going to the Baton Rouge location since about 10 months after opening. We always eat inside, unless we are just getting a shake, then we use the drive thru. The service inside is always great, it's always clean and the food is typically brought you in a very timely manner for being cooked to order. The burgers are always juicy and contain a really good sear. The taste of beef and really good rendered beef fat is the flavor you get first. Which in my opinion, I want the great taste of seared beef and the juices to carry the burger. Not a sauce, not a bun, the beef. Shake Shack uses Martin's potato buns, which is the best bun for burgers. Other buns may work however, Martin's potato buns the best. This is the type of burger that doesn't even need condiments, however their shack sauce is good but very similar to other burger sauces. Their Chicken Shack has also been very good when I ordered it a few times. Chicken is hot and crispy. The pickles are good but the herb aioli is a must. Get extra on the side, it's really good with the sandwich and fries. I tried the limited time BBQ rib sandwich, it was also very good. However, not as good as the burger or chicken sandwich. It's a shame but also not horrible the best burger in Baton Rouge comes from a chain. It's disappointing because just like pizza, Baton Rouge does not have any great options. Shake Shack being the best available in Baton Rouge isn't a bad thing though because it's a really good to great burger and two, because of all the chain places it's arguably the best. You could argue Five Guys or In N Out, but I have had all three and Shake Shack is the best in my opinion as far as chains go. read more

I remember trying this when it first came to Baton Rouge a few years ago. I was very disappointed with what I got. I gave it another try and while it's still not my favorite it's okay. The food is very basic with not a lot of flavor and the milkshake tastes watered down. It's not terrible. It's just okay. I've never gotten a burger maybe that's what saves this place. This is a delicious burger and fries along with a creamy shake (I had cookies and cream). The size of the burgers are comparable to atomic burger but shake shack is miles ahead of in and out and atomic burger. The burger is just too good. The only reason that I'd choose whataburger over shake shack is because of the price point and size advantage that whataburger has over shake shack. I ordered on the mobile site on a busy day after Christmas adventure. It was just an order for me, so i thought this may be faster. The online order system was pretty easy - the menu was a little odd coming up, but they have good descriptions and pictures. The site said it would be about 15 minutes and that I would receive a text when it was done. I pulled into a spot and waited for the text. i finally just headed inside and saw that my food was waiting for me, so no text. I'm not sure how long it was sitting there by the time i got it. The email said to see a team member if a text didn't come in, but the line was nice and long by the time i got around to the food pick up, so i just left. I decided not to dine in because the line was awkwardly close to some of the tables. So i went home. I appreciate the packaging - nothing could spill or fall apart. Also, no grease could leak and get on the car seat. The food was pretty good - the burger reminded me of ones made at home, but better. I also got the fries, and they were really good. It was a pretty good price for what it was. Everything is more expensive now, so i expected it. I was really pleased, and I'm sure I'll be back. I may try the chicken next time. read more

I've always been a fan of Shake Shack so I was super excited when we finally got one. I think their burgers are delicious and fresh. My favorite burger is the Shack Stack. It's huuuge! If you haven't tried it TRY IT! It's a fried Portobello mushroom stuffed w/Muenster cheese on top of a cheeseburger. It's AMAZING! Their shakes are delicious too. I love that they usually have a specialty one every month. It's a bit on the pricey side but I think everything has gone up. Above average service, well lit and inviting environment should be by the college instead of the mall. It's the only fast food joint in this area. The food was exceptional, one of the best burgers and fries I've had in a while. Unfortunately the blood orange lemonade wasn't good and should probably be taken off the menu, it tasted like grapefruit lemonade. It was very bitter with a hint of sweetness. I fell in love with Shake Shack when I had it for the first time in NYC and always hoped to have one in my hometown. Fast forward eight years later and we finally have in here in BR! I've visited this location twice so far, and the food tasted good but my burger has been made incorrectly both times, and they either didn't add the extra toppings or extra shack sauce (which costs extra btw). The food usually takes 15 minutes or under to come out depending on how busy it is, and you usually don't receive your drinks until your food is ready. There is a water and condiment station right next to the pick up area. What I'm the most surprised about is the drive thru, as I've never seen any shake shack locations that have one! It seems that the drive thru helps take away a lot of the traffic inside, but it could also be the reason why your food takes a little longer than expected. The staff was friendly and greeted us each time we dined in and the food tasted consistent and on par with the other locations I've been to. I was pleased with the way my smokeshack burger was prepared both times because the meat was cooked perfectly and it wasn't too messy to eat since there weren't cherry peppers falling out everywhere. The only thing stopping me from coming back to this location is because I don't want to worry about my food being made incorrectly again. read more

First time coming here and loved it! I ordered the ShackBurger which is an angus beef cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and ShackSauce on a toasted potato bun. I customized my burger by taking off the lettuce and tomato and adding pickles. The angus beef tasted fresh, was seasoned well, and wasn't super greasy. The bun was also fresh. I ordered a side of the crinkle cut fries to go with my burger and they were great. Fried perfectly with just the right amount of salt. I will definitely be back. A lady had a whole herd of little girls there for a birthday party, all dressed up in princess dresses and big rhinestone sun glasses and looking fabulous! They "front" the burgers where they put all the fixings on one side so they look bigger than they are, so you have to open them up and arrange them. They are good burgers. Passed by the drive thru today (it's a Sunday) around lunchtime and figured I would try them out for the first time. I was 110% not impressed and won't be back. My burger was small and was still raw. It was a soggy, greasy mess. The French fries it came with were crinkle cut fries that you could easily buy in the frozen food section at Walmart and pop in your air fryer. The milkshake was supposed to be some sort of funnel cake Oreo shake, but it tasted like a plain ol' cookies and cream milkshake from everywhere else. Not sure what the funnel cake part was about. I asked for some sauce for my fries and they charged me for it but didn't put it in my bag. Looks cute on the outside, but the quality of the food doesn't match and the price is crazy high. $20 for a small combo with a shake . The customer service was amazing! She (name on receipt was Renee) made us feel very comfortable as first-timers here! Our food tasted AMAZING. Like real, fresh burger meat and the same for the Yuzu lemonade. Oh my gosh me and my fiance fought over the lemonade, it was so stinking delicious. So this establishment states it takes a gourmet approach on fast food and in my opinion the price tag is the only thing that lives up to the gourmet standard. The food is at best mediocre. I did not feel like my burger stood out or made me want to come back. The service was however awesome and the building was very clean. I had the Avocado Bacon Burger with fries and a coke. The avocado slices (2) were extremely small and my bacon was slim and hard to detect. The actual hamburger meat was cooked nicely but lacked actual flavor. Shake shack (SS) was a legendary burger destination that I always wanted to try. Thanks to SS-Baton Rouge on Bluebonnet Blvd, SS will never again be a burger destination for my family. The food is satisfactory but the service and ambience relegates this establishment as terrible. Let's talk ambience second, we prefer to sit at a clean table and since there wasn't one in the place, we had to clean our own. One of the employees actually sauntered through the dining area and returned a chair to its proper place while expertly missing all the dirty tables. Really, somehow he missed that every single table needed cleaned. Other ambient features like the self service order kiosk and the self service very limited condiment bar were in disarray as if they'd been ignored since SS opened that morning. Service? Not in this SS!! I guess this SS location believes NO service is better than being blamed for INattentive service. On entering this SS, a customer encounters an order counter on the left and an order kiosk on the right. Waiting at the counter for one of the 3-4 SS employees to help us proved fruitless. Not one of the SS employees showed any interest in us. So, we used the kiosk to order our meal followed its instructions and sat down (after we cleaned our table). Yes, the food was hand delivered and literally set on table with no human interaction at all. It's a sad indictment of a business when the kiosk has more personality than the employees. One last thing. Very apparently at this SS location there is an employee bias against other people. The SS employees "livened up" and showed much better preferential treatment if the customer happened to look like them. This store needs a strong manager onsite to help restore professional restaurant standards. read more

I'd heard a lot of good things about this place on social media and I was craving a good burger and fries. It was as good as advertised. For those introverts like me, or those who prefer to go cashless, you can easily order at one of the kiosks. You get texted when the order is ready and perhaps because it's just opening they brought the food out to the table (text says to pick up at counter), which was a nice touch. The service was excellent and they were well-staffed which is probably why the service was great in spite of being very busy. The restaurant was clean and modern and it was comfortable. On to the most important part--the food. The burgers are on the smaller side, so if you have a big appetite I would suggest getting two patties. The crinkle-cut fries were delicious, crispy, freshly and expertly fried. They were exactly as advertised and needed no salt or ketchup (in my opinion). This is the fast food, five star rating. We finally went over to try them out a week ago and we very pleasantly surprised with the class of the interior, decor, building and parking lot. Everything was first rate and comfortable so we're shocked to see people lined up at the drive-through missing the comfort of the building, dining interior or sitting outside. Service was with a big smile, and excellent to help us in our first time with their menu choices. Food was delivered to our table and was actually the best burger we've had in quite a while.
