    Banchan. All fresh and delicious.
    Dominic E.

The service was excellent! The food was very good! I recently came here after a shopping trip to H-Mart and am glad I did. We were quickly greeted and sat. The banchan provided was delicious and fresh. I ordered a Yangnam Gaejong combo with Dwaenjang Jigae. The crab was deliciously seasoned and was perfectly completed by the stew. I'm craving it again as I type.

Having not had Korean food for over a month due to being out of town, we were dying to eat some comfort food. @jangdokdae.atl sure delivered. Tucker away in a corner in the same complex as Hmart, don't be fooled by the unassuming appearance of the restaurant at the front door. Inside you will find a cozy space where food is cooked and served with love. It is a self serve concept with kiosk ordering. Food comes out very fast. We loved the two dishes that we tried. Oyster bibimbap had such bold seaweed and seafood flavor. Beef rib soup was extremely tender and flavorful. Price is very reasonable (we paid less than $40 for 2 dishes). The owners are lovely. Please come support them!

The best meal I've had in ages! Everything we order tasted amazing! The service was excellent and friendly. Most welcoming. We will come back again and again

Nice selection of soups and other classic Korean dish staples. Service was good and everything was delicious. Highly recommend the Soybean soup + Mackerel combo!

Love the services here, staffs are so nice and attentive. The place is clean and privacy. The food is very decent and affordable. Marinated crab combo is a must try, all the seafood was fresh. Very happy with the experience and definitely will come back.

Pretty good Korean food with friendly staff. Homey and cozy feeling with mostly Korean elders eating on a Friday night. 4.5 stars for me - actually everything was quite good but nothing wow-ed me! Would def return though to try other items. Cold noodles were very good. Ginseng chicken soup was good but not much ginseng flavor. Kalbi was good and so was the spicy fish soup.

Really loved the raw marinated crab ! I wish it was a larger portion size for the price but i couldn't find it anywhere near me

The food here seemed to be more traditional with prices being on the higher end. I had the variety of pork meat w/ pork broth. The stew had a nice aroma and was pretty healthy. I had imagined there to be more pork since the description pretty much mentioned "variety" of pork meat. Eating it in junction with the white rice helped made it more filling. If I only consumed the stew alone, it would not have cut it in making me content. The hubs had the combo 3: spicy marinated crab + grilled mackerel + bean paste stew. * Spicy marinated crab: It was pretty much a whole, raw crab that had been fermented. With crab, there's not a lot of meat, and you have to work at getting to the meat which was messy. I'm not a fan, and the hubs said it was okay for its uniqueness but that he prob wouldn't order it again. * Grilled mackerel: It was a sizable fish, and it was pretty tasty and healthy. Because of its portion and taste, I would get whatever combo or entree that have this for future visits. * Bean paste stew: Hearty and flavorful. I'm definitely a fan! Not a lot of Korean places offer this so it's a special treat for me. The soup here seemed to be in a slightly smaller pot, but it had veggies and herbs that differed from other bean paste stews that were thicker. I've been on the fence about writing a review since I felt portions could have been better, especially with the higher prices. The hubs said that he left feeling content and wasn't at all full. My review sits squarely at 3 1/2, but 4 stars it is.

    Pork Backbone for 2 hotpot
    Claire H.

The food is amazing!! The pork backbone hotpot was more than enough for 2 people and was very flavorful. The only downside was the service. We had to continually ask for things like refills or if we can start eating since it had to cook for a bit, and no one had come to check up on us to see if we needed anything. However, if you're craving Korean food, this is one the places to go to!

3 things about this place: 1. This place has been a spot to go to every time I visited Georgia. Haven't been here in a couple of years and needed to come because of previous positive experiences. The place was clean with great environment where I felt like I was in Korea. The lady serving was extremely friendly and always had a smile. 2. Fermented soybean paste stew + grilled mackerel, ox bone stew (seol long tang), and cabbage hangover soup were ordered. The taste hasn't changed and was the same from the last time I was here. The side dishes were on point. Every side dishes were phenomenal and had a clean after taste. Quality of the soups and side dishes were literally perfect and couldn't have been better. 3. I cannot emphasize how cheap the pricing on the menu was. So cheap. Can't really beat the price for the quality and quantity that you will be getting. Overall, from the last time I was here which was couple of years ago, nothing has changed and couldn't have been more satisfied with the meals today. This will always be a go to restaurant and definitely recommend this place to people who look for authentic Korean soup.

    Jessica L.

Probably could rate it 4.5. The side dishes were good. The grilled mackerel is really good I recommend if you like fish. The gam ja tang was good but not the best I've had. Overall a solid option for traditional Korean food.

Jang Dok Dae provides an authentic experience. Things you should know: I. LOCATION Within the same plaza as the Super HMart. There's free and convenient private parking out front. II. SERVICE No complaints. Quick. III. QUALITY Good IV. CAPACITY Slow at first, but as dinner time progressed passed 6:30 the amount of people in the restaurant ramped up. There wasn't a wait for seating for a Thursday evening.

    Samgyetang (full portion)
    Ashley K.

This spot is the best for an authentic Korean meal. It's a bit hidden to the back left of the H-Mart so it's often overlooked. FOOD: Samgyetang (Ginseng Chicken Soup) ($16.99) - Personally, the best samgyetang I've had in Georgia. Includes ginseng, jujube, garlic, and a whole chicken stuffed with glutinous rice. Love that they have an option for a half serving and full serving. I got the full serving and it was enough to share between two people. The dish was nutritious and comforting. Tasted like a real home-cooked meal! SERVICE: Service could be a bit better. They served us plates with stains on them while they were looking at the plates so we had to ask them to get us new ones since it didn't seem like they were going to change them. They came to refill waters but never to take our check so we just went and paid in the front.

Surprisingly, craving this got me to come back a second time. The Fire Chicken Omelette Ramen had the same presentation, but Buddok ramen instead of sushi rice. Disappointing, because I could have just made Buddok ramen at home. The Schewan noodles were not spicy nor tasty. Takoyaki was good, on a bed of potato fries. Would order again. For the Beef Bulgogi Cheese Fries, the bulgogi is good, the fries are not. These fries are from the frozen section at Costco, make no mistake. They are bland, 2/5 star fries. Even if the bulgogi was on top of better fries, the bulgogi is dry and the cheese on it isn't melty or saucy, so the fries and the topping don't mix together well. Just a pile of dry food.

Just a heads up so others don't get confused like I did. The place was pretty busy, which made it feel like a popular spot. The atmosphere was nice and everything looked clean and well kept. Even though it was crowded, our server was very friendly and attentive. They cooked the meat right at the table, which made the experience better. My partner and I came in around roughly 9:50-10pm. When we arrived we're were initially informed that we had to order soon because they were closing in 30 minutes and were understandings of that. Shortly after we were seated, (literally 1-2 minutes) about 3 employees came to our table letting us know we needed to order within the next few minutes. It was like 10:05. I tried asking one of the employee what the meat options were and was just interrupted by him being persistent in us ordering and did not really answer our questions, mainly because I noticed some of the meat options were pork and I do not consume pork for personal reasons. My partner and I felt overwhelmed and just ordered something we thought would not include pork. After submitting our order another employee came by with the check already without us asking insisting for us to pay before our food even came out. Mind you the restaurant closed within 20 minutes at this point. When our food did come out, it did contain PORK!!! We just left shortly afterwards and left the food on the table.

This time, I brought my friend who has never had Korean bbq before for her to try. We went right when it opened so it was quiet. I told the server it was her first time and he was eager to explain everything to her. I don't think she was prepared at all what was about to grace our table He brought out a cart full of side dishes and start to explain what each one is along with the flavor profile. When he got to the scallion salad, she was just not loving it, but he told her to at least try and see what she thinks (don't knock it til you try it!) Then he said they're still getting the charcoal ready so it'll be a few more minutes and my friend's eyes just (like what?) So we start with trying a bite of all the sides. She enjoyed everything except the sliced onion salad. Surprisingly, she loved everything else, including the scallion salad! She's a texture eater, so I was weary of her trying the tofu, but she really enjoyed that too! So... the charcoal comes out, and she's just Then the server brings the grill with the cheesy corn, spicy bean sprout, and he poured in the eggs. Followed by the meats! Since she didn't really know what she likes, I made a few suggestions and the server suggests letting him bring us the most popular items first and we can work our way through the menu. What a great idea!! Started with brisket and ribeye and wow ... meats were fresh, paired with the sides, and the dipping sauces, it's just chef's kiss!! We then had bulgogi and pork belly and those were just bursting with flavor! The cheesy corn was good but burned too fast on the grill, the spicy bean sprouts are amazing, and the steam egg is my favorite . The only downside is that if you don't eat those sides that are cooking on the grill right away they'll turn dry and burned and it won't be as good. The cheesy corn also caused some splattering to our hands when we were cooking the meats. The server apologized for the oil splattering since he heard the squeal immediately soak up the oil from the cheesy corn so the splattering would stop. Overall, my friend gave it 10/10!!!
