What a fantastic use of open space! It's bright & spacious--both upstairs and downstairs seating. I met some friends here and we didn't have to sit at a small cramped table--there was bench seating for us to spread out! It was early morning, so it was not very crowded or noisy and I was able to enjoy my conversation. However, there was a steady flow of early morning customers ordering beverages. On my visit, there wasn't a lot of breakfast items, but the housemade scones are a must! It was amazing--not dry, crumbly or too cakey...for me, it was the perfect scone and it came with homemade raspberry jam & Irish butter--DELICIOUS! I ordered a Hojicha latte and it was delicious as well. Harder to describe the drink--maybe tastes a bit nutty. I prefer hojicha over matcha and glad that they have this offering. Walking by, I saw their sign saying "scones and matcha" and I was sold. They have unique specialty drinks here, but I decided to go with their triple matcha latte because I love me some matcha. My husband went with their Einspanner latte. The only food they have here are warm scones - we got one of these with raspberry jam. Our items took about 10 minutes to come out but everything was amazing. The matcha was ceremonial grade - you could taste the richness and quality, and it was nicely cut through with just a hint of sweetness. The Einspanner latte was also creamy and rich with the flavors of cocoa coming through as a nice complement. The scone was fresh and crumbly with delicious butter and sweet, fresh made jam. Just opened in June, this spacious split-level cafe has a familiar Asian aesthetic informing its design. Subsequently, I discovered the concept was developed by Jiyeon Choi, who co-owns Sweet Maple and Kitchen Story. Where was the Millionaire's Bacon? Well, it's not a restaurant. The menu consists of matcha and coffee selections and fresh-baked scones. That's it. Getting off the L-Taraval MUNI train at 19th, I didn't have a grand plan to come here. I just happened upon the corner location at 21st. Even though it had been open for just two months, I could tell it was attracting regulars with either laptops or baby strollers. People were staying put in their spots, and vacant seats were rare on a Tuesday afternoon. When I walked through the Taraval entrance, I was momentarily confused because I had to walk up a flight of stairs to find the order counter. The menu listed out iced and hot latte options. I decided to order the $7.50 Iced Vanilla Bean Latte. When I noticed scones on their back counter, I impetuously ordered the $6.50 Scone with Homemade Raspberry Jam & Irish Butter (Photo 10). The server conscientiously fetched a scone from the oven and placed it in a small box. I managed to find an open seat downstairs. The scone was meltably tasty, easy to devour, and the cold latte provided the right balm. Definitely a worthy stop in the Outer Sunset. This South Korean inspired cafe is the perfect place for an afternoon pick-me-up! I stopped in at around 1pm on a Saturday for a quick drink with a friend. The interior design is so pretty and clean. It is really reminiscent of cafes in Korea! You order upstairs and there is a ton of seating on the lower level for you to sit and yap with friends or get some work done! My friend and I both got iced Hojicha lattes with oat milk, totaling a little over $18 with tip for the two! It was hearty and a little savory, super tasty! I ordered the iced platinum ceremonial grade matcha for Don Juan de la Matcha. It was smooth and had good flavor. I then paired it with the a berry jam scone. The scone was a bit flakey but it was delicious. Jandii is a good cafe to enjoy some matcha and a good space to do some reading , work , or just yap on the Sunset Strip of San Francisco. Came on a weekday afternoon to try the scone. I was really interested in the blueberry jam but they only had their signature fresh blackberry and raspberry jams so I went with the blackberry. To be honest, it could have been better. The scone had a crispy exterior and soft interior but the interior was definitely dry. Of course, the butter and jam helped but a good scone shouldn't be dry. The blackberry jam was not my favorite despite liking blackberry but it was definitely fresh. I'd give it a 3-3.5/5 as in it was decent but I wouldn't order it again. Rounded up to a 4 because staff were really nice and the place was bright with lots of sun and very clean and well kept. This one was a miss for me, unfortunately. I came for the matcha and found it way too sweet for my taste. There also wasn't an option to adjust the sweetness when I ordered, which was disappointing because I would have preferred to taste more of the actual matcha. I did really like the space, though. It's much bigger than I expected and there are lots of tables and seating, so it's a nice place to work, hang out or spend some time with a drink. The overall setup is comfortable and spacious, especially compared to some of the smaller matcha cafes around the city. I just wish I enjoyed the matcha more because the space itself is really nice. I stopped by around noon on Saturday and surprisingly there was nobody in line. The staff was very friendly and helpful in helping me decide on a drink. I was surprised by how big the space is - there's one area of big communal seating and another area better for solo or small groups where lots of people were working on their laptops. I had the raspberry Matcha latte which was lovely and not too sweet. They said the raspberry jam is homemade, and they give you a good amount of it. The space is really interested, the building is located on a corner at the bottom of the hill and they've taken advantage to create a downstairs space for a work and chill area with tables and chairs and upstairs is where they take and make your orders. Matcha Einspanner 3.5/5 - nothing special here. Mid tier matcha for me. I also could've skipped the cream top and do a regular matcha latte. Hojicha Latte 4.5/5 - Actually quite smooth and nice. I had a hojicha era but recently haven't gotten back to it because it is quite earthy but this was clean and actually reminds me of the black matcha at Constance. Blueberry Jam Scone 4.5/5 - such a comfort to eat while warm! I love the small butter slab, reminds me of the butter they stick into butter pineapple bun. I love the thin shell and soft interior but it is a tad too buttery, it gets a little heavy near the end. Their matcha is customizable in terms of sweetness/milk type - I got my less sweet and it really let the matcha flavor come through. It's more on the earthy and bitter side. Their scones are a must! I was really excited to try their Salted Butter Oatmilk Brew on Tap because it sounded so much like the NY Paradiso Oat Salted Brown Butter on Tap, but it was a miss. It even had the charcoal salt on top. I didn't find it too salty, but my friend did. I thought the coffee could have been lighter and more smooth, it tasted pretty dark and a bit too sweet for my taste. The scone has a lot of potential and it looked soo good! It was just too dry for me in the middle. The outside crisp and jam was great. Lastly, I'm trying this new thing where I go work at a new cafe every Friday so in terms of working or studying from here you have to ensure you find a space because it can get packed pretty quick. Jandi is one of the newest addition to the SF café scene and it is so cute -- already one of my favorites and I've only been once. I got a hot triple matcha latte with almond milk for $7.50 which honestly feels like a great price point for the quality. They use 6g of matcha per cup and the drink sizes are intentionally smaller -- hot drinks come in 8oz and 10oz, iced in 14oz and I actually love this about them. With matcha you want to taste the matcha, not just milk with a hint of green, and the sizing reflects that philosophy perfectly. The matcha itself is platinum ceremonial grade which I'll be honest, I'm not entirely sure what that means, but what I can tell you is that it tasted very unique. I was pretty excited when Jandii opened in my neighborhood but a lil less excited when I kept reading new reviews about how bad the matcha supposedly is. Worse yet, one of my friends came here, and their friend got the matcha and didn't like it. With even a second degree connection dissing the matcha, I postponed coming until a month after opening. Skeptical as I am about the matcha, I ordered the signature oat milk brew on tap to play it safe. It was ready within a couple minutes of ordering, and the drink was quite buttery and creamy with salty notes. At first even after giving it a good stir, it tasted really sweet, but it mellowed out as I drank more and was perfect toward the end. After this good first experience, I've warmed up a bit to trying the matcha, but maybe I'll ease into it and try another coffee or scone first. At any rate, it's amazing having a spacious WiFi café within walkable distance now. I had been seeing Jandii all over online, so I finally decided to give it a try. I ordered the Raspberry Matcha Latte and the Matcha Einspanner Latte. I normally don't like fruit paired with matcha, but the raspberry matcha actually surprised me. The raspberry added a light fruity flavor without overpowering the matcha, and the two worked together better than I expected. The Matcha Einspanner Latte was also good, although I was expecting the cream top to be a bit thicker. Instead, it's more on the lighter, liquid side rather than the rich, fluffy cream you usually get with an einspanner. It still complemented the matcha well, but it wasn't quite what I was expecting. The café itself is really spacious and has a beautiful interior, making it a great place to study, work, or catch up with friends. The workers were also very helpful when I was trying to decide what to order and were happy to answer my questions. The only downside for me was the price. The drinks are definitely on the expensive side, and after tax my total was almost $9 per drink (the tax alone was around $1.60 or something like that), which is a bit hard to justify. While I enjoyed the drinks, I do think there are other cafés that offer something similar for a little less. I'm glad I tried it because it had been on my list for a while, and I think it's worth visiting at least once, especially if you're looking for a nice place to study. We recently went to Jandii to try their drinks. I ordered the blackberry jam scone and the hojicha einspanner. Both were really good. The scone was crispy on the outside and the inside was soft and fluffy. The blackberry jam paired perfectly with it. The hojicha einspanner was delicious and creamy. Cute and huge interior but the matcha was not great. The vibes here are nice and the place is incredibly spacious. Lots of people working and chatting on the weekend. There's two levels of seating, lots of natural lighting, and the decor and vibe/branding remind me of Sohn in Dogpatch. It's definitely going to bring lots of traffic to the otherwise quiet-ish area. Although the space is aesthetic, the raspberry matcha latte was unfortunately not good. As I feared based on the other reviews, the matcha was a murky color and it did not taste like matcha at all. It was also quite sweet. The raspberry jam at the bottom had seeds which was an uncomfortable texture to drink. Overall would not recommend this drink -- maybe their einspanner is better? Would probably not order the matcha if I returned but seems like their scones are popular so would try that next time. read more

3.5 STARS Matcha fatigue. Cafe fatigue. I'm just fatigued with all the new cafes and matcha shops opening in the bay. I'm tired of wasting money on iced milk and swamp water. But... Jandii seemed very promising. They're a new Korean cafe from the owners of Sweet Maple, known for making a solid matcha latte. Sadly, the Matcha Einspänner w/ oat milk ($8.50) was disappointing. It was a murky army green color (oxidized?), while it was astringent and watery tasting. Nice twist with the salted cream, tho it's more like cold foam than a thicc whipped topping. On a positive note, they make a delicious Housebaked Scone ($6.50). Served warm with a slab of butter and your choice of jam (blackberry or raspberry), it's buttery with a moist, tender crumb. I've been trying a bunch of new matcha spots in the city recently, and this is now one of my favorites! I got the matcha einspanner latte, and I really enjoyed it. The matcha quality was pretty good and flavorful. And the salted cream was absolutely delicious. I also ordered a scone with raspberry jam. The scone was so incredibly fresh. It had a perfectly crisp, crunchy exterior and a moist interior. Highly recommend giving it a try! It's fairly spacious inside, although pretty packed on the weekends.
