Got here at 10:50 am for the 11 am grand opening on June 26. I was 237 in line, as an employee handed out flyers with the menu for the first 300 in line who would get a fridge magnet. There is also a BOGO, of which it's supposed to be one offer per customer but someone bragged about having done four. The line snaked from heytea, down towards Whole Foods, and back towards Onigily, and then coiled towards Wanpo. There were several security guards ensuring the retail store entrances remained accessible, keeping people from sitting on store fronts, and stopping people from cutting the line. An employee came out to offer water cups to the front of the line, and another came to help customers start circling what they wanted on the flyer. I got to the cashier at 2:40 pm, then received my order by 2:55 pm and collected my magnet. I think it was ran as smoothly as it could be but I wish the several staff we had interacted with thanked us for enduring the wait. Instead the guy I collected the magnet from just told me to take a lot of pictures and share online - zero thanks for coming out, thanks for waiting, hope you enjoy, please come back. I'm sure all the staff are really stressed out too but a little human touch with the interaction would go a long way. This line wasn't worth a $8 saving and a collectible magnet, but it was 99% Asian community coming out excited and supporting boba/tea. So many passerby ask us what the line was for, and when they learned it was just for BOGO, they would scoff and say it wasn't worth the wait. The coconut mango boom and crisp grape boom were excellent with real fruit chunks. Security guards said although the mall opens at 10 am, they will not allow people to line up at the store prior, but they may have a barricade line outside or something. They also said no chairs are allowed. I recommend getting here early as I feel if I arrived 1 hour early, I may only have had to wait 1-2 hours rather than 4 hours. Or just wait for things to calm down, there's a heytea in Westlake Daly City and Metreon SF where you can just order ahead read more

Late post - Long lines today for the BOGO. Literally waited an hour and a half. Staff were very welcoming and also very efficient. Considering the long lines, 10 minutes wait after ordering was not too long. I ordered the coconut mango boom, which was delicious and refreshing and the pistachio drink with the foam was not too sweet and full of pistachio flavor. Will be back to try other flavors, when all the hype dies down. read more

Came here for the bogo deal, I got here at 11 & I waited for 2.5 hours which is understandable, there are so many people and it's a new boba shop. My family got the jasmine milk tea, coconut mango boom, matcha latte, and the brown sugar boba milk tea. Boba was warm and chewy. Jasmine milk tea was a bit mid, coconut mango boom was pretty good- I love the flavor, the coconut jelly and the sago, the brown sugar boba milk tea was creamy and great balance of brown sugar and cream, but the matcha latte was definitely a miss for me. It was creamy but pretty bitter, matcha flavor was not that great. The shop is pretty small but relatively clean. Will come back to try the other drinks such as red guava and the grape drink. But for matcha drinks, I would get that somewhere else. read more

So glad they finally opened up a HeyTea here cuz it's closer to me!!! I've had the coconut mango boom so many times and it's my go to so the taste is pretty on point but my new favorite heytea drink is the guava green grape!! It's soo good and refreshing! There's actual pieces of grape too and I love a good slush. I wanna come back & get it again lol (but when the hype dies down). I came here on day 2 early morning when they opened, but it took a long time cuz there were hella peeps. Would recommend coming mid afternoon since the line wasn't as cray. They also gave out mini water samples, but I thought since it's heytea they should've just given out tea samples instead. I noticed that unlike their other locations you actually can't see any of their workers make your drinks, cuz they're all in the back behind this wall. Now it is officially open and I'm going to be frequently stopping by because HeyTea is my favorite Boba/Tea establishment ever! I came here during opening weekend when they had the bogo deal. The line was pretty long, but died down later in the day. I ordered their guava green grape and my usual coconut mango boom. I really liked the green grape. It was delicious! I also came back today and tried their brown sugar milk tea. It's not that sweet but the taste grew on me. Stopped by on Heytea's grand opening, and even though the line was incredibly long, I was impressed with how smoothly everything was run. The staff was friendly, organized, and kept things moving efficiently. After placing our order, we had our drinks in about 15 minutes, which is really impressive for opening day with such a huge crowd. Me and a friend went on 6/26 for first day grand opening. Got in line at 4:02 pm and got our drinks around 6:06 pm. Line was long and based on the start and end time, the wait was about 2 hours at the time. Once you get the corner of the store, near the front of the line, there is a worker giving out a piece of paper that you can look at. The paper has a list of the specific drinks you can order for buy one get one (BOGO). BOGO deal lasts for the whole entire day, for three days starting today and is NOT limited to first 300 customers. First 300 customers get a fridge magnet and this promo lasts for three days. BOGO List of drinks include: Pistachio cloud jasmine coconut - 7.99 Triple supreme matcha latte - 7.99 Kale boost tea - 7.99 Jasmine milk tea - 6.49 Coconut mango boom - 6.99 Supreme brown sugar boba milk tea - 7.99 Crisp grape boom - 7.49 Cloud jasmine tea - 5.49 I got the Triple Supreme Matcha Latte for 7.99 and Crisp Grape Boom for 7.49. Due to the BOGO, the lowest amount becomes free. Total at the end was 7.99. (You can double up and order 2 matcha lattes if you want for the price of one or mix and match and the lower priced item gets taken off). I really love HeyTea and could not recommend it enough, unfortunately my experience today has left me with a bitter taste in my mouth. I ordered a drink I really wanted to try which would be the Guava Green Grape. I ordered smoothly and proceeded to wait with my friend. Usually I don't mind waiting because I expect it when I'm ordering at HeyTea and I understand that it gets very busy and that HeyTea is very popular. It was when it reached the 45 minute mark that I start getting impatient since I have seen several people who have ordered after me get their drinks already and especially impatient when I'm seeing that these people who have gotten their drinks before me ordered the same thing I did. I got up to ask for updates about my order as I saw my drink order on the window between the kitchen and reception, I go back to waiting with my friend expecting them to call it out. I proceeded to watch them put that drink into a bag with a different drink and after a while when my order still hasn't been called out I got anxious and ask a worker about it. I told them how long I've been waiting and what I saw earlier but I was brushed off with the worker telling me that they'll call out my order when it's ready. I just assumed that they're just really busy and didn't want to be a rude customer. At this point me and my friend waited until we were the last 2 customers, my friend who ordered after me finally received his drink. I'm left waiting as the last customer and after around 2 minutes the workers ask me if I'm waiting on something. I think that was the moment it finally clicked in the workers head that something was wrong, they then asked for my number and scrambled to find it before finally asking what I got and made me my order. They apologized for the wait, I got my drink and left since they're 30 minutes behind closing time and close at 8. when I finally looked at my drink, I saw that they made it wrong. I wanted my drink to have 100% sweetness but on the label it said it was less sweet. It would've totally been fine if not for the situation that has already happened. In short, they lost my order, brushed me off when I asked about it, finally address it when they realized something was wrong and proceeded to make my order wrong. I ended up waiting for an hour (7:30 to 8:30) for a drink that I wasn't really my cup of tea. I didn't end up liking my drink because in my opinion it was really sour (hence why I wanted 100% sweetness) and the grapes in the drink were especially sour. read more
