I decided to go to Westlake Shopping Center to do some shopping in neighboring Daly City. Since I been waiting for the Stonestown location of HeyTea to open I decided to go to the closest HeyTea location in Daly City. Inside there was an electric crowd of Boba lovers waiting to get some cups of joy. I decided to try the Supreme Matcha since Don Juan De La Matcha enjoys trying different types of matcha. It was smooth and not too sweet. Every sip was tasty. I then I got the Cloud Mango. It was juicy and delicious . It was not too sweet and it was very refreshing. Overall this place is a good place to get some boba all four seasons. Next time I have to find out where to get Westlake beef soup at Westlake. Second time at Heytea and it's always pretty consistently good. Tried the new jasmine guava and the matcha latte. Jasmine Guava was a bit light on the guava flavor for me but the matcha was excellent. Not too sweet and a great earthy matcha flavor that really came through. Overall, the drinks here are not super sweet with the default option which I appreciate and there is an option for zero calorie sweetener. However, I think their boba is a little on the soft side without much chew, which is not my preference. In addition, the lines here are super long so definitely order ahead. They are pretty fast with the drinks. Lastly, the drinks are expensive. Almost $20 for two drinks after tax and tip so this place is on the expensive side for drinks but the quality is high. My favorite milk tea ever. I live nearby and after one taste, I was back 3x that week. Excessive, expensive and unhealthy, so I've taken it down a notch and only go when I am in that area... once a week or so. I will keep that place in business haha. I've tried it once and it's good but too sweet for me on a regular basis (even with the limited sugar option) so I stick to my favorite black milk tea. I usually say no ice and will add my own ice at home so I can make it last longer and enjoy the drink for two days (boba gets hard after one though). Although majority of the time my cup is empty by the time I get home because someone drinks it without noticing... I've literally drank the entire thing while browsing an aisle and was convinced I hadn't. It's so delicious/dangerous you don't even notice you are drinking it. Bye bye money. I warn you not to sit on their stools though. The owner should remove them because they are cheap, wobbly and an expensive lawsuit waiting to happen. A lifetime supply of boba sounds pretty enticing, but seriously one almost collapsed on me (had a baby in my carrier too!) and I've seen other people nearly fall off as well. I think they should expand their counters and kitchen and add popcorn chicken (just ONE food item would make a huge hit in this area!) and get rid of all of the seating. Win for everyone! Quick pick-ups are also tough and you usually need to block traffic. I say just don't be lazy and get a parking spot at home depot. It's a short walk. I think they have a rewards program but am usually stopping by with my kids so don't take time to read into it. I should know this, but oh well. Maybe on my next visit... later today :P read more
