Their bread is so good!! We Only Got Sando's: Fried Chicken Potato Salad & Egg Strawberry & Cream Loved the fried chicken sando. It was so flavorful. Even the green onion was deep fried in tempura batter. The potato salad & egg sando, I would skip next time. But their potato salad was hella good. Just being between bread, was not for me. I don't know if they offer the potato salads on the side, but I'd def order it if it was. The strawberry and cream sando was good. The strawberries were so sweet. The cream was not too sweet. I would honestly give them a 3.5 and I didn't feel comfortable giving them a 3 so I increased it to a 4. I wanted to like Tadaima as much as other people like or love it, but it was something that I tried once and will probably not go back to just because I know other places with better tasting matcha and Japanese sandwiches. We pre-ordered online on a weekend and the wait was about 40-45 minutes. Luckily my husband and I found the timing perfect as we walked from the Richmond to Sunset to pass the time. When we grabbed our stuff, we managed to get a table to eat our sandwiches. Seating is very limited and it was surprisingly kind of loud for a matcha shop. The sandos were okay. I was surprised to find the strawberry and cream sandwich to be sweeter than other ones that I've had (ex. Bread n Chu). The strawberries tasted like they were soaked in a syrup or something before going into the sandwich. The chicken sandwich was good. Not bad, but nothing to be wowed about either. My matcha latte was good - that's all I can say. I overheard people outside saying this was the best matcha ever, but I've had better. I am glad to have supported them since they have been broken into twice this year. This place is packed and for good reason! A line out the door indicated that this was a good place to try. You line up and are presented with 8 different types of onigiri. We got the salmon, crab, spam musubi, and the curry. All were great and what you would expect. The crab was nice and creamy and the curry was nicely done. The rice itself was fluffy, sticky, and uncrushed. We also got the pineapple tonkatsu sando which had red cabbage, pineapple, tonkatsu, and they called it pineapple sauce but kinda like sweet and sour and ketchup. Overall great because the pork was not dry and each element brought acid and crunch to the soft pillowy bread. The mixed fruit sando was good because it had fruit all the way to the back of it. Most places only put fruit for the presentation side. The cream was thick and sweet which played nicely with the sweet milk bread. As for the drinks, we got the strawberry matcha and the hojicha with cheese cream, both less sweet. The matcha comes from the brand "Matchaful" and is light and grassy in flavor. I usually don't really like black sesame matchas that much tbh because the black sesame always overpowers the matcha, but for some reason I was craving one today. I don't think it's even on their menu, they only have a black sesame latte, but I asked the cashier if they could make it a matcha and she was so kind to say yes!! And this one I could actually taste the matcha because it was stronggg!! The jasmine tea with matcha cold foam was also solidd! Sandos were pretty good, but onigiris were poorly executed. Fish sando was a 4 out of 5. Fish was nicely fried, lightly seasoned, and fit perfectly in the pillowed breads. Chicken katsu was a 3.5 out of 5. I really liked the dark meat, but they added fried green beans or some tempura veggie?! It just didn't complement well. I ended up saving a small piece to microwave the next morning. Held well under the microwave! Now for the onigiris - I got two of their $8.50 onigiris. The eel and salmon onigiris. Ive been here a few times before but haven't gone back in a while and I can say their quality is consistent!! I always get the chicken sando and it is always flavorful plus the chicken is juicy. The strawberry matcha was good as well but I do prefer stronger matcha flavor. The hojicha though was definitely my preferred flavor profile. If youve ever had Rockys matcha, it tastes like that! We stopped here for lunch after a long walk. I wasn't willing to line up when it first opened a few months ago. There's always a line if sorts but it moves quickly. If you come in a weekend, the line is even worse. We ordered 2 dinks - Americano because they don't make any with mocha and a matcha latte. Both were very good. Hubby tried the tonkotsu pineapple Sando, and didn't like it for several reasons. He thought the pork was too thick and not pounded flat, although the meat was cooked correctly and not dry. He thought the pineapple didn't add anything to the sandwich and was too thick and didn't like the sauce. I tried the unagi onigiri, it was delicious but overpriced for $8.50. We came in on Saturday afternoon, and the line wasn't too long. We were able to order within 15 minutes, and our food was ready around 10 minutes later! We got the chicken filet karage sando, strawberry cream sando, unagi onigiri, mushroom onigiri, and matcha lattes with strawberry cream. The chicken filet karage was savory and lightly crispy. The strawberry sando was lightly sweet with fluffy cream. The unagi onigiri was really tasty and savory. My friend got the mushroom and pickled daikon onigiri and she liked it. I typically don't go for fruit matcha lattes since they tend to curdle, but having it as a cream top prevented that! Another matcha spot that came back from resilience, Tadaima in Inner Sunset. Like the one in Mission District and Cow Hollow, same matcha drinks, same neatly prepped onigiris, and same sando variations. There's even a 50g matcha green tea powder pouches waiting for anyone to have. And of course, I never grew tired of its café space and vibe. The iced Straight Matcha with sugar never fails to please me even when it's never on their menu option. As for the mixed fruit sando, I received an assessment from my brother after he tried the whole thing. He claimed that the milk bread from Tokyo Central in Emeryville tasted way better than the milk bread of Tadaima. Of course, everyone has different views when it comes to their taste buds. I've wanted to try this place for sooo long. Found a parking lot nearby and it was a 5 min walk. I came here before it opened and there was only a small line. Onigiri is also freshly made. It's worth the hype. I'm still dreaming about my visit here a month ago and am planning my next trip here. It was theeee perfect place to meet with a friend. The chicken karaage sandwich was my favorite! I would definitely come back for this. It was very lightly fried and the milk bread they use was so light and fluffy. I tasted 1/4 of the fish sandwich which was my second favorite. The tonkatsu pork with pineapple I would probably skip next time. The pork was a little on the dry side. Though, the pineapple was sweet. I took some onigiri out to try later, but haven't tasted them yet. Out of all the matcha in the city, Tadaima is definitely in my top 3! I was super stoked to hear that a location opened up in one of my favorite neighborhoods in the city! As you know, parking in the city is a complete nightmare, and wanted to give you a heads up, this is right smack next to GGP so this is no exception. This location is very cute and has more seating than the other locations (for example the original one on the mission.) Over here, you can get a table to enjoy your drinks with your friends on a slower day. On weekends, the line even tho can be long, the wait honestly isn't too bad. I believe what sets Taidama apart from its competitors is the quality of its matcha, its ratio, and the balance between having fun flavors without overwhelming the natural grassy notes of the tea. As a bonus, I really appreciate their selection of onigiri and sando so you can get your caffeine fix with some lunch. I would recommend you checking out Taidama out, especially for their strawberry matcha. It might be my favorite in the city, creamy, not too sweet, deep strawberry flavor. read more

Came here mid-afternoon for a snack. I ordered a hot hojicha latte, a shiso beef onigiri, and a mushroom pickled daikon onigiri. Both onigiris were super yummy-lots of filling inside and very flavorful. I ended up feeling like I ate a meal instead of a snack, but no regrets because they were so delicious. The cashier recommended heating up the onigiri for 30 seconds. Hojicha was also quality, but pretty strong, and had a slight bitter flare to it. Store is pretty clean but limited seating. Parking can be difficult in the area, so if you are driving, I'd recommend bringing some coins/credit card to pay for a metered space. Prices are a little high but good quality. This place is lovely! The wait time was a bit shocking but I honestly understand why and the line moved fast too. This place serves Japanese foods and drinks. Their matcha latte was lovely and strong, with a slight nutty and sweet flavor. The strawberry matcha latte was also good and the strawberry cream top did not taste as fake as other matcha places. Their onigiri was absolutely delicious! I wish I bought more haha. I highly recommend this place, the setting inside is chill and super green. The onigiri is made fresh and set out so you can easily grab what you want and check out without waiting. I also ordered the tonkatsu pineapple sando which took about 10 minutes, so not bad at all. The shiso salmon onigiri was really good with a decent portion of salmon on top. We also tried the shiso unagi onigiri which we liked and thought had even better flavored rice, probably from the unagi sauce. The tonkatsu pineapple sando was good and the pineapple paired well, but I still prefer the chicken filet karaage sando (tried this at their other location). This is a perfect spot to pick up lunch on a weekday. I would not wait an hour or more on the weekends, but weekday was great! Came on a rainy Monday afternoon and there was no wait. We got 2 premium onigiris (shiso unagi, shiso salmon) and they were super flavorful! Also got a hot matcha latte which had a nice bold matcha taste. It passed my basic matcha test of not tasting like a cup of milk. There are a few small tables to eat at. The matcha cup and onigiris can feel a little sticky and the tables were kinda dirty, so this is something that can be better. Normally would've rated a 4 for the price for value, because 8.50 for a small onigiri is quite steep, but the food is good and I want the business to continue improving, will round up. I want to try the sandos another time, to bring me back to the conbini days in Japan, but the $16 may stop me. We'll see how I feel... Street parking can be tough in this busy area and the meter maids are on high alert. We were 2 mins past our meter time and Bam! $107 ticket. It feels like a to go place, pretty clean, and drinks can also be ordered I ordered the snow crab, salmon yuzu, and spam misubi. The snow crab was okay, the texture is soft. The salmon yuzu had a yuzu taste. It was more flavorful than the snow crab. The spam and egg misubi was pretty regular. They have specials and sandos. So excited that this location opened up in Inner Sunset! The onigiri look so delicious and I will definitely come back for those another time. Ordered a hojicha latte and a fish katsu sandwich. The hojicha latte was a really good drink portion and the caffeine definitely got me through the afternoon. The fish katsu sandwich had so many great textures and flavors and the sandwich was built in a way where the bread wasn't soggy even after traveling with it.
