Loved this experience! The customer service is amazing. It's like they knew when we were ready to order the next round when we got down to the last pieces. The tuna and salmon were so fresh and delicious. I highly recommend getting different rolls as they come out on one big plate family style. AYCE for less than $30? Yes please! M-F 11am - 4 pm

The servers here are really nice. We came in as a family 4 with a baby and toddler included and got to sit near the window. We came here because we were craving for sushi and found out this was the place that does all you can eat. For $26.99 a person on weekday lunch, it makes it so worth it to eat here. It's hard to find such places nowadays. There aren't a lot of special roll choices but too many options make it overwhelming sometimes anyway. They have a select choice of appetizers as well. We did the miso soup, shrimp tempura, and chicken karage, which all tasted really delicious. All the rolls were good as well, including the lion king roll and California roll. We enjoyed all the food!! Coming back here again next time we crave for ayce sushi! They dont overdo it with the rice!

Sushi Uma is a small sushi spot located in SF. They have paid street parking available (meter), but are also located near a couple of public transportation stops too. I went after typical dinner time, but it doesn't seem to be super busy in general. We got: * Cherry Blossom Roll * Unagi Roll * Sake Roll * Kappa Maki Roll Had no complaints taste-wise (tasted the same as all other sushi spots). Nothing stood out, but I appreciated that the Cherry Blossom Roll wasn't stuffed with fake crab (had raw salmon inside instead). Price-wise, they're about the same as other sushi spots. Their AYCE deal looks pretty good, so I'd come back to try that if I'm ever in the area. The service was average (filled our waters occasionally, but didn't really check in on us that much and the service didn't stand out to me). Overall, this is a safe, mediocre spot for sushi.

Ayce is only available during lunch time from 11am - 4pm. It's $26.99 on weekdays and $29.99 on weekends, which is honestly a great price for ayce sushi. We dined on Sunday and upgraded to the nigiri option (+$10), so it came out to $39.99 per person. There was no wait for a table on Sunday, we were seated right away. I have to be honest, the food was great, but it didn't justify the wait. There's a 90-minute dining limit, yet we had to wait 45 minutes for our first dish to arrive (unfortunately I kept checking the time cuz I was starving). That said, I can't complain about the food itself. The sushi was fresh, tasted great, and everything felt worth the price. The only real issue was the long wait for the food, but we still ended up full, so it worked out in the end. Would I come back? For the price, maybe. But the food wait time is definitely concerning.

Had a coupon so ordered 2 dragon rolls and 2 miso soups for dinner, orders came within my anticipated time, so pretty good service to order. I didn't go to the restaurant itself, so I couldn't speak much about the ambiance, but when the food arrived, the sushi was still pretty fresh and the soup was nice and hot. I started with the miso soup and downed it quickly, had that typical miso soup you're used to so no complaints there. I dug into the Red Dragon roll, and it's as I had expected, got your shrimp tempura inside, imitation crab, and spicy tuna on top, didn't have the tobikio but I'd imagine it would likely have fallen off, so no worries there. Chowed down the whole thing and overall it was pretty good, of course, there's other higher-end places that cost more, but for your local sushi spot for your average $$ price, I was satisfied!

It has been a while since I ate here, about a year and a half, but I still feel the need to leave a review. I came here to get a bite in with friends, before a night out celebrating my birthday. Their Chicken Karaage was a great way to begin the evening, and is to this day the best karaage I've had. I stop and think about it sometimes... I ordered the Lion King roll (my go-to). My friend ordered the katsu curry, and my other friend ordered the Rainbow Roll. Everything was delicious. We came before the dinner crowd arrived and got to take our time, which is always nice in the city. Very casual spot to get very good food with lovely service. Would definitely recommend and return for more.

Easy reservations made online (max 6 pp) through grubhub. Called to increase headcount and lady told me that it's automatic 20% surcharge for group. Seated right away but no explanation of how AYCE worked so had to review on menu and ask questions. Basically it's AYCE but nigiri is an additional $10 so total of $39.99pp on weekends. Kids 5 under are free. The nigiri, tempura and fresh rolls were good but the fried rolls had too little fish and too much rice. The hand rolls were the best IMO even tho there were only three selections. Service was strange. Friendly but didn't clear off your dishes to make room for the next orders. I had to put the dishes on the next empty table to me. Overall: fun spot with a small group (restaurant is not too big) since we were able to watch soccer game and good deal when you're hungry for sushi. Or want a less expensive sushi meal.

Aside from the a-bit-slow food preparation (about 20min wait), everything else is great! Unlike other reviews, our sushi had a normal amount of rice, and comparatively high quality ayce sushi! We had 3 pieces left on the table from our first round, but the server still let us order the second round :) It's definitely great for this price!

Came on a Saturday around 2pm. The inside had a good amount of tables, and there weren't too many people. We did the all you can eat sushi. I think the restaurant was understaffed because the service was unfortunately extremely slow. It took a while for them to seat us and to take our order. The sushi itself was not bad. I do think they overload it with rice to make you full. After being done with our rolls, we had to follow up twice about the hand rolls we had ordered the first time. We finally got them and to no surprise it was packed with rice.

Ordered via uber delivery. - no utensils. No soy sauce. No ginger. - no spoon for a hot miso soup. - chicken karrage is all batter. Dry, sharp, terrible. - Philadelphia roll has zero cream cheese. - I got a roll with eel which I did not order. - another roll had the smallest piece of tube ever. - have had sushi all over the world, once a week for 25 years. This is the worst.

Not a lot of sushi buffets in the city so it's nice to have this option. Menu is relatively small compared to the peninsula sushi buffets and mostly based on sushi rolls. If want to try a lot of different things, not conducive to that since rolls are pretty large. Regardless, everything is fresh and tasty. Chicken karaage and hand rolls are good too. Wish they had sashimi options. Place is small and intimate. Service is ok.

Overall: 4.25 stars!! There seems to be an increase in ayce sushi spots in SF, but Uma stood out to me because they offer both AYCE and a la carte menus - hopefully promising higher quality ayce options. We came here for lunch on a Monday, and while it was busy with a stead flow of guests, we waited about 5 minutes for a table for 2. $26.99 ayce seemed like too good a deal to pass up, so we opted for that option. What we ordered: miso soup, garden salad, 49er roll, lion king roll, negihama maki, coral reefs roll, salmon and tuna handrolls and a hot tea pot ($2). The rolls were all tasty and well-sized. The rice to fish ratio was also balanced. Sometimes, places make them huge, so you can only commit stomach space to 1-2 full rolls, and I get really sad! Lol. The handrolls were also tasty but had just a tad too much rice. My spicy tuna handroll in particular had a pool of sriracha sauce in it. (It might have just been that one.) Overall, good quality and value though. Parking: Street & meter. Quite difficult. Service: Friendly and fast

We went for sushi lunch on July 2nd; we are regular customers, but this time the waitresses were rude, and the sushi chef kept sneezing right over the food they were preparing for us. They served us the contaminated food--which we couldn't eat--so it would be good if they wore face masks. The bathroom was dirty, too; how is it possible for a place that serves food to be so filthy? ‍ I'm never coming back.

For first-time visitors, I'd recommend ordering a couple of maki rolls to get a feel for what they do. We tried the salmon and tuna maki, and both were buttery, fresh, and practically melted in our mouths. The spicy tuna roll was also delicious with just the right amount of heat. My only critique is the rice. It didn't have that classic premium short-grain sushi rice texture I'm used to. It reminded me a bit more of steamed rice, which took away from an otherwise very enjoyable roll. A special shout-out to Katelyn for her warm and friendly service. She made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. We were also served a pot of hot loose-leaf tea that was rich, full-bodied, and the perfect way to end the evening. Overall, fresh fish, friendly service, and a relaxing atmosphere. If they fine-tuned the sushi rice, this would easily be a five-star experience. We'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu.

Small space, consistent flow of customers, and busy workers fulfilling in-store and online orders. Had myself the Matcha Latte with Strawberry Cream. Not a huge matcha fan but I appreciate the smoothness in this drink. Not as earthy as other matcha drinks I've had. The strawberry cream for me elevated the drink. I tried their Katsu with pineapple sando. Katsu could've been more crispier and warm. Sure it tasted okay but it's a messy one to eat. With each bite the ingredients fell out. Making it challenging to eat. Thankfully I snagged the only high top table inside the shop. Hopefully I didn't look like a fool trying to eat it haha I doubt I'd order it again. Also ordered two onigiris: salmon and chicken curry. There was a bit of a wait for this order. Not sure why. My favorites out of the items I ordered. Both had a generous amount of filling and the rice ratio imo was just right. The salmon was just right, not fishy nor full of sauce. The chicken curry had a subtle curry flavor. I appreciated how warm it was. I didn't care to ask but I wish they had hot sauce available. Overall, decent spot for a matcha drink and a snack. Don't expect to eat there unless you want to wait around. The pork and fresh cucumbers were delicious, but the bun itself was a little leathery. The biggest disappointment was the house hot sake. It tasted different than I remembered, and after pouring our second round, we poured out a fruit fly that had been inside the bottle. That definitely ended our sake for the night. I hope the restaurant inspects bottles before serving them, as that's something that can easily ruin an otherwise enjoyable meal. Despite those issues, the outstanding service is what earned this visit five stars. This was my first time visiting Ramen Kameko on Clement Street. The promotion was $5 Special Ramen (To Go Only) with a choice of Tonkotsu or Shoyu Ramen. I like ramen, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to try the restaurant. They were already sold out of the Tonkotsu Ramen, so I ordered the Shoyu Ramen, a soy sauce-based broth topped with one piece of chashu, negi, and kikurage. By the time I ate it, the broth was only lukewarm. I also waited almost 30 minutes just to get the $5 Shoyu Ramen. Had I known it was only a mini-sized portion, I probably would not have waited in line for it. The chashu was okay, but the portion size seemed more like a snack size than a full bowl of ramen. For $5, it felt more like a sample portion. It was almost like eating a mini kids' meal version of ramen. There were only two people handling the promotion. It appeared the chef was preparing the ramen assembly-line style, scooping the soy sauce base into the container and adding hot water before serving. Overall, there wasn't anything particularly special about the promotion other than watching the chef prepare a large number of ramen orders. The $5 price was reasonable, but it felt more like a tasting portion than a full ramen experience.
