The Sushi is very fresh and delicious. I always order my favorites and seat on one of the tables outside. I love watching people who are shopping. The place is under construction so I am looking forward to seeing the new garden outside.
Fun, efficient, simple. Nothing to add. I've been to a few conveyor belt, boat-sushi type spots in Japantown and I always end up back at Tenroku! Is it the best sushi ever? Not quite. I think expectations are usually low when going to these types of spots but given the quality and price, it's actually pretty surprising. I usually stop by for dinner on weeknights. It can get busy sometimes but I've never waited more than 10-15 minutes. Service is quick and friendly. The goal is to get you seated and taken care of right away. Once you sit down, it's game on. Chefs are busting out all different kinds of dishes for you to try. They also take requests if there's something on the menu you'd like to try. I love not having to commit to a roll and being able to try a ton of different things. Admittedly, I keep coming back for the seared walu. The plate color lets you know the price of what you're getting. Most plates come with 2-4 pieces and run from $3 - $8. I can make this dinner as cheap or expensive as I'd like!
My friend and I ate here early Saturday evening after shopping around the mall. We were quickly seated and given menus, but we knew we wanted to eat just from the conveyor. Everything was yummy! The staff was nice and very attentive! The restaurant was lively, but not so crowded or busy that you couldn't hear yourself or others talk. The conveyor belt food was priced well, with a nice range. Would eat here again!
Come on Yelp!! 3 stars . Expectations Adjustment needed here !!! This is fast food NOT omakase. 2 opposite ends of the sushi world. Fish was nice. Packed house means the spinning plates of food either get taken by diners or not. No old fish . Ambiance is fast food effective and clean. Servers are friendly and work hard. Tip them well
So fun! Rotating sushi belt. You choose the plate and each plate is colored so you know the price. They aren't labeled so it makes it fun to read to menu to try to figure it out. The staff is so nice! The sushi chef helped us figure out the fish and we had a great time on our mother daughter day. My daughter is vegetarian and they went out of their way to make her feel comfortable and checked to make sure there were enough rolls for her.
First of all, this is a sushi boat spot in the Japantown Mall--so let's set expectations. You can't compare it to a Michelin-star Japanese restaurant. Sushi circles around on a conveyor belt, and some of it has clearly been riding for a while. There are also packaged, grocery-style items on the belt like cake and uni. That said, it's good and possibly fresh, and the chefs are clearly working hard. It's not creative or romantic--it is what it is. We had several solid items, left full, and that was the goal after seeing a movie. It was pretty quick, too.
It was a hot day and the AC didn't feel strong. Sushi was warm so I barely ate anything in fear of getting sick. A lot of the sushi was just sitting there on the conveyor belt so it's questionable how long it's been out without refrigeration. The fish wasn't stuck to the rice well so it detached immediately. Not the best quality or food handling safety
A conveyor sushi belt restaurant tucked in the plaza upstairs of Japan town across many competitions. We got seated right away for dinner time. I love the concept as you can get smaller portions of rolls to try more items. Everything tasted pretty fresh to us other than than the Philly roll which might've been from the type of cream cheese they use. Our main complaint was that the colors of the plate so a bit deceiving. We saw this "pink" colored plate circling around for multiple items and we thought it was pink cuz it was the lightest color compared to the others. When our bill came out, we noticed we got charged for red plates so we asked for clarification for what a pink plate is. I wished I took a pic of the pink plate they sold because the plate they showed us wasn't even revolving around the sushi belt so it felt like this place scams customers as I'm sure people thought they got the "pink" color plates instead of the red. Not sure if I would come back after as this experience was a bit of a downer.
I never knew that they had 2 locations. This was the one on the Kabuki theater side. It was t as crowded as the other location but was just as good. They had counter seating which was bar height. The food is going round and round. Just grab whatever seems appealing. The staff was great and I grabbed plenty of options. Don't know the names of any of it but it was all fresh. I also had some tasty Plum Wine that I would love to grab a bottle from the store
Quick and easy conveyor belt sushi spot in the heart of Japantown. Service was quick and everything I had was very good! I came right before peak and definitely you saw the same dish come by over and over again but as it got busier, the selection just got better. Price could get expensive but easy to keep on the low end depending on what you grab!
After walking around the Cherry Blossom Festival, we were thinking of where to eat for lunch when we walked past this spot. I was hesitant since my experience last year was so-so but my dad wanted to eat here and they had a relatively short wait (~20 minutes). +Sushi was well-constructed: Didn't fall apart when picked up. +Generous cuts of sashimi that tasted fresh -Soft shell crab and tempura weren't crunchy -Unagi was salty Side notes: 1.) No restrooms 2.) Limited parking in the Japan Center Garage or on the street. *Verdict: 3.5 stars rounded up to 4 d/t service. There were limited items on the belt and it seemed like everyone else was waiting around for something we wanted like us. However, staff working the conveyor belt were attentive and were able to give us or make plates that weren't on the belt. In addition, waitresses refilled tea, cleared trash, and helped order items. For the quality, prices were reasonable, especially for the items w/raw fish.
So fun grabbing whatever you want, but you just never know how long it's been rotating along that belt. But if you need something fresh just order straight from the chefs. The sushi was pretty decent. The otoro was actually melt in your mouth. And sushi rice was made well with a good amount of vinegar. We certainly left full after spending about $30 per person. Didn't expect this place to be so good honestly.
We spontaneously tried Tenroku Sushi on a Saturday for lunch after seeing the long wait at the ramen spots nearby in the Japantown Centre. We were happy to get seated right away and were excited to get conveyor belt sushi after a long time. We weren't too hungry so we stuck for nigiri and sashini platters. We split a couple of tuna and salmon sashimi plates (really nice thick cuts of fish and pretty fresh), and tried some nigiri including the ikura, hamachi, and saba. Everything was good and it was fun to grab off the conveyor belt. You can also just ask one of the sushi chefs for a specific sushi directly. We skipped over the rolls and desserts which didn't look appetizing. For what we got, we were happy to spend around $35 for 2 people for a quick, easy lunch. Would definitely recommend!
Reviews are mixed. Many highlight the fresh sushi, generous portions, and fun conveyor belt setup. Service is often quick, and prices are seen as reasonable.

Conveyer belt sushi for the win! I came here last minute because I needed somewhere quick to eat and I was by myself, so luckily there was one seat left (during busy dinner time on a weekend, no less - other places had long waits) Here in America the conveyer belt sushi places haven't really impressed me, but being that this one is in Japantown, it's pretty decent. If there isn't something on the conveyer, you can always ask for it. They were cutting up real, whole fish so you know it's fresh at least. Service was great, super quick and the "chefs" were responsive. The menu is nice, with lots of drinks to choose from as well. Cuts were not authentic but still meaty. Pricing can be on the higher side, depending on what you like. But others have mentioned it can be cheap as you like or expensive as you like at places like these, as they are priced essentially by the choice of fish and how it's prepared. Atmosphere was lively for a weekend night, but I have been here during the week as well when it's less busy. It can be tight if it's full (get to know your neighbor!) but it's more than adequate. Always a fun experience and I have , and will be back. read more
For conveyor belt sushi this is a clear 5, for freshness, ease of ordering off-belt (?) and the service efficiency. Never a complaint and great hot sake to warm up the vocal cords before going to Festa karaoke right next door. read more
Saw they had sushi belt and got so excited! We were quickly seated and started taking some plates of sushi available. There was a large variety of sushi so we tried a few different rolls and pieces. I also ordered the Devil mountain roll off of the menu. They told me it would take a while which was fine but I instantly regretted after how much sushi I got off the belt. I would stick to either sushi on the belt or sushi on the menu otherwise it's easy to get too full. Plus, the Devil mountain roll was massive! I was only able to eat 3 pieces and had to take the rest home. The one thing I wish they did was label the sushi on the belt with what type of fish or what the menu item is called. It was not always easy to tell what roll is what which made it confusing sometimes. Even simple tags in front of the rolls would be helpful. read more

I don't know why this place has only 3stars when the freshness of fish is impeccable! Thick cut! Very affordable! You can order and they custom made roll/sushi/temaki/nigiri/sashimi for you too. Sushi chefs and server are super nice i looooove this place!! read more

we came here for a light meal and got 4 plates (different prices based on color) from the revolving counter. seating is limited but it wasn't too busy. food was fine although I wish there were more options. not the highest quality sushi and prep, but you pay for what you get. service was pretty spotty and cold though read more
We didn't have to wait for a group of 5 for dinner Thursday. The food is great but if you see something you like, grab it asap because there's a chance you won't see it offered again. There were also times where the food we wanted was sitting on the counter but it wasn't placed back on the conveyor belt while we were there so we didn't get to eat it. You can also request rolls but you have to get the attention of the chefs and it can still take a while to be made. Overall, I think I would go somewhere cheaper with better service. You're mostly paying for the revolving sushi experience. If you're looking for delicious sushi, this is still a good choice though if that's what you prioritize. I think the food was better than the experience. read more
Awesome experience. I've never been to a sushi restaurant like this before. They have the rotating belt with endless options of food. You choose whatever you want and just pay based on the color coded plates. The food was tasty and delicious. The ambiance really nice and chill. It wasn't crowded when I was there. The service is great. read more

Great experience! Mu husband and I wanted to try something new and were not disappointed. We are not big eaters in general, so this place is a good way to eat sushi in small portions and try new food. It was memorial day but we were sitted right away. But be ready to sit very close to other people and share soy sauce bottle with them. read more

Came here with my friends for a dinner date! We all loved the sushi, and it was very very fresh :) The service was very good, and the server was attentive to everything from our orders to water refills. The ambiance is nice, nestled within japantown. There is limited seating, as we are all seated around a conveyor belt sushi counter, and a line built up quickly outside the restaurant. I enjoyed the food with my favorite being the seared salmon special nigiri! Definitely a 10/10 from me :) I also tried the salmon regular nigiri, fried oysters, uni roll, and a salmon roll. All were good, but the seared salmon special nigiri definitely stood out the most to me with a melt-in-your-mouth quality! read more
The sushi is decent and I suggest sitting "at the bar" so you may pick from the rotating belt or from the regular menu. Also, ask the chefs for off menu suggestions or just surprise your palate with something new. In return, they appreciate it so buy or split a beer with them. Good times. Not omakase, and that's okay. This is just as good as any of the sushi spots within Japan Center, or in the area. read more
Decent sushi. Though the service staff can be rude. There isn't room to sit comfortably - they need to expand or reduce the # of seats. The staff kind of bump into you from behind & it's always busy af in here. I just wish the atmosphere was better. Also, some of the converter belt sushi looks like it's been sitting for a while & the rolls on there needs more variety and less sashimi. read more
I want to say the positive things first. Our previous experiences have always been pleasant. The quality of the sushi is always consistently good. However, on Sunday 10-26 at around 3:30pm me and my two friends entered the restaurant. When we asked the waitress if we could sit on the straight side of the counter she told us no and asked one of us to sit in the corner. It's fine. We sat down and enjoyed our food. Then when the same waitress brought us hot tea and water she placed all 6 cups next to me and said "can you distribute them?" I am sorry but I don't work at your restaurant. Then my last draw was when she refilled my hot tea she spilled it on me. She gave me a quick sorry and handed me a piece of napkin and proceeded with her life. The restaurant was not super busy and they had plenty of staff so I don't understand why she rushed through everything. Her behavior was very unprofessional and might deter my return to the restaurant in the near future if she continues to behave this way. read more
I'm actually writing this review while I'm sitting at the restaurant because I couldn't wait to share how amazing this place is. LOVE their seared salmon nigiri, LOVE their variety of fresh fish, and LOVE that the price point isn't too ridiculous. This place tests my self control every time and it's so hard to not just grab everything in sight on the conveyor belt. Everyone is extremely nice and I can tell they get along with each other. This place fits about 30ish people around the conveyor belt and a few tables outside. I come at odd times so I can't comment on the wait time. Shouldn't be too bad, people tend to scarve down plates after plates. read more

Really fun experience but ok sushi. Went there on a Thursday night and there wasn't a line (yay!) I've been wanting to try and this place and I'm so glad I went but not rushing to go again. It's perfect for a date night and you can easily get full for $20-30 per person. read more

I think this was my first time at a Sushi place where I sat in front of a revolving sushi boat. I've seen places before but never sat by one, so this was a whole new experience for me. I do like the system they have set up the color coordinated places showed items from cheapest to expensive. You can also special order some of the more special cuts or sashimi style plates. I have to note here as I was eating with a friend. The sushi makers were making the smoked salmon nigiri to prepare for the sushi boats, I was making a comment to my friend that we should be ready to grab one as soon it came out, he heard us and he directly handed us two plates of the smoked salmon nigiri, I have to say that was great! We also special ordered the Toro nigiri it literally melted in my mouth so that was delicious. I think I had at least 8 plates of sushi and appetizers but it was delicious! read more

Love this place! Always a fun choice for a sushi night out! Or day out! The sushi chefs are so kind and will make you anything that you show. I usually just show anything from yelp I would like to try that I don't see on the conveyor belt. The atmosphere is small but cute! read more
Not the freshest of food but a fun experience! I love how quick and efficient the servers were with grabbing our drinks and removing the clutter from the table. It's a tight space in there but they make it work! Never been to Japan but I imagine this is close to what it feels like. The fish wasn't always fresh and quite honestly some of the dishes did not look appetizing. We had a couple rounds of drinks after so we were there for about an hour and a half and some of the raw fish sat there the whole time and some even looked dried up. I could see a bad tummy ache coming from some of them. Closer to when we left (dinner time) it picked up and people started to come in in a big wave and you can see them finally putting out fresh dishes. We tried a few more and they were better but still about average. Price point is pretty high for the quality in my opinion. read more
