The most inefficient way of ordering food I've ever seen. One person taking orders at the counter and bringing people to their tables. About 7 people making food in a small space. Two girls running food and we were asked by two separate people for our group size and name. It took about 40 minutes of standing in line to even order our food and there weren't many people in front of us. There were also only 2 of us there. Took about 5-10 minutes per group to order and be seated. When we were ordering another worker came up and started talking to the girl taking our order which left her distracted and us standing for another 2 minutes waiting for her to tell us our total. The whole place isn't even at half capacity; I can't imagine what it would be like at full capacity. This place is counter service that wants to be table service? They also messed up two coffee orders for the two tables around us in succession. Won't be coming back. Food was good but not worth the wait and chaos on a not so busy day. read more

I'm a Bend local and it was really disappointing when they raised the prices, yet AGAIN - it seemed really greedy. I understand the cost of food and paying your employees a decent wage, but when a small pizza consisting of minimal ingredients costs $19+tip it makes me question where the money is going. The lowered rating is really about the management and service, my food was very delicious. I came here for lunch with my wife at 3:15 pm on a Tuesday as I purposely take later lunches to avoid the lunch rush. When we arrived, the line was about 5 groups deep, some singles, a couple, and a family of 4. There was a brand new employee being trained at the register, about 4 employees milling about, and one employee diligently folding pizza boxes in an origamic frenzy. After 10 minutes, almost no movement in the line, and my wife suggesting that we may have made a mistake coming here, I should have taken the cues from the body language some of the other patrons were exhibiting (the toe tapping and frequent apple watch checking for example) and just cut our losses and left. My wife had talked up this place so much though that I really wanted to try it so we hung in there and waited, and waited, and waited some more. On a side note, if you are in a slow moving line, as a courtesy to the people behind you please please use that time wisely and figure out what you want to order and do not wait until you get to the register to ask the brand new employee what each of the dishes are and what is in them. A steak sandwich... IS A STEAK FRIGGIN SANDWICH! I'm lookin at you, messy ponytailed brunette in a tank top with his petite lady friend who had to ask a hundred questions! So all this time, this poor brand new employee is doing her honest best to learn the ropes from her trainer while the line is growing in length and impatience. Here's where the part I mentioned about the 4 employees milling about comes into play. There is a second register open and ready to use, but for some reason none of the other employees will do so. Perhaps it is just for decoration, or perhaps it is covered in poison, in any case nobody would even approach the thing. I have to admit, working here looks pretty fun, all the employees were cheery, smiling, cracking wise (probably over how hungry and miserable their patrons looked standing in line like a bunch of middle aged Oliver Twist orphans), and generally having a good time. About 20 more minutes pass and we finally arrive at the cash register in front of the peppy young cashier and her pococurante trainer. We promptly order two steak sandwiches without asking what the ingredients of the dish are, a soup of the day which happened to be a creamy tomato basil soup, two of their house made drinks, and a chocolate chip cookie as well as an oatmeal cookie. we got the cookies and grabbed a table and proceeded to wait, and wait, and wait some more. At minute 55 of my hour long lunch break I suggested to my wife that we may have made a mistake in coming here. I couldn't wait any longer so I opened our bag of cookies and found that they had given us a peanut butter cookie instead of and oatmeal. Seeing that I was about to break into tears, my wife whisked the cookie bag over to the counter where they just threw an oatmeal cookie in our bag. The oatmeal as it turns out was my least favorite, it was dry and brittle, but the other two were great. After the cookies were consumed I flagged down one employee to ask if we could perhaps just have our soup first. She went back to the kitchen and we sat there and waited, and waited, and waited some more. About 10 minutes later our soup came out along with our 2 sandwiches. I dived into the creamy tomato basil soup and nearly drained the bowl before realizing I was supposed to be sharing it with my wife, so I reluctantly surrendered the remainder of the soup to my spouse in the name of love. I then proceeded to tear into the steak sandwich, NOT AT ALL surprised to find that it was comprised of beef steak strips, mixed green lettuce, onions, and some sort of condiment between two pieces of bread. The sandwich was quite good, the steak was hot, juicy, tender, and flavorful, the greens were fresh, and the bread had a superior crumb structure. All in all, I will probably not come back. The food was great, but I simply do not have the time. The whole thing took about an hour and a half and I can get equally delicious food in this town without having to wait that long. Side note: There were no male employees in the front of the house, only female. All the males were kept in the back or in the kitchen, I just found that kind of odd is all. read more

Well dang it! I was expecting to be a big crankypants because my pet peeve is when you have to walk and order and find your own table, clean it up, etc. (It is a pet peeve because if I wanted to clean up my own dishes I would stay at home.) But DANG IT, wasn't this just the best breakfast with the nicest, best service! Fresh food (I had the green eggs and ham, with a Rosemary morning bun, the hubs had the monte cristo--all was a delight). I love this welcoming friendly place! We come here every time we are in the area. The service is knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. The selection of beers, ciders, wines, and sodas is fantastic. My favorite appetizer is a nice cup of their excellent gelato. The specials are interesting and ever changing. Today we had the pizza special of roasted garlic cream, fresh mozzarella, squash, leeks, pancetta, finished with a swirl of pesto. It was a stack of three COLD tostadas, steamed black beans between them with 2 fried eggs and a tablespoon of green salsa on top, with avocado instead of chorizo. Pros: Good food, nice people, high quality ingredients Cons: Very slow and a bit on the expensive side for how casual it is. If there is any line at all you'll wait at least 7-10 minutes before you order / sit down and food can take another 20-25 easy. There are always a ton of people in the kitchen and orders only come in every 2-3 minutes but somehow it still takes 20-25 to get your food. They pan fry every chicken breast to order for example - it's odd. read more

We had very picky family members in town over the summer and took them to Jackson's Corner several times just because there is such a variety of options. The drinks are good, too. Borderline birdseed meets heaven-like density made in house which doesn't make you feel like you're digging your gums into cardboard. As for our gluten-connoisseur: Jackson's must have a French crusader in the bakery because that baguette is to battle for - light, fluffy, rustic, fresh daily, and rated 10/10 by my Italian partner (an extremely impressive rating). In addition, all pastries deserve snaps for the bakers because each has a unique, flakey, and home-made flavor that makes you want to apply for a job just for the bread benefits. Next, the breakfast: eggs are baking in a brick pizza oven? Read that again. Poached-like, fully cooked, and oozy. The breakfast sandwich is also a unique flavor-filled savory anis stuffed between sweet breads. Honorable mention, the best Caesar dressing I've had. So good I made sure to add it to my breakfast order before leaving town for a proper send-off from Jackson's. Without a doubt, the tastiest and variable flavors of gelato if you're looking for a sweet cap. Unexpectedly, the staff is kind, knowledgeable, and makes you feel like you could change your career to work remotely in the shop for the rest of your human existence on this planet. When we got here we waited in line for about 45 minutes just to order and another 45 minutes to receive our food. I stopped in here solo one morning when I found out The Pancake Wagon was closed as many people have recommended I go try it out. My initial response was its adorable and very Bend but no one told me it was order at the counter and take a number to your seat style, which is also not surprising nor a bad thing. I decided on coffee and sea salt cardamom French toast and it was very good. The coffee is also self serve for drip, very cute set up but a little awkward as new to the layout of the restaurant. My number was accidentally picked up while I was getting my coffee, as I was alone... which I found comical but was worried I might not get my food, however it was promptly delivered after the incident.
