Brisket sandwich with one side.
Gary W.

Came by and ate lunch today! Went to the bar and had great service and just chilling. Ate the chopped pork sandwich and it was great with collard greens to take home for later. Definitely had a Texas road house feel, served on metal trays with some extra jalapeño pepper slices.

Jack's BBQ has everything I want from a BBQ place - a hearty, meat-heavy meal with a large variety of sides to complement. I came here with 3 friends the day after the Seahawks beat the 49ers in the divisional playoff. We had seen on their IG that the day after a Seahawks win, their "Jackson Smith N-brisket" burrito would be 50% off so we came by. We ordered the nachos, loaded fries, cornbread, and burrito. The nachos were crunchy, had good flavor, and paired well with both the salsa and queso provided. The fries were crispy, and the toppings complemented the base well. We devoured both of them quickly. The burrito was meaty as expected, but very flavorful. The brisket and jalapeño cheddar sausage were both prevalent and the queso helped tie it all together. Lastly, I loved the cornbread. The honey butter on top was the perfect touch. I really enjoyed the service and ambiance here as well. Typical rustic barbecue establishment with very friendly staff.

Attending an event where Jack BBQ had all their catering items displayed and for us to try it out. Love the ambiance and the dj they hired for this tasting event. The food was delicious (the meats were juicy and flavorful), the display was unique, the service was friendly, and there was plenty of space to move around. Overall I had a wonderful time. Please check them out if you are looking for bbq.

We walked in and were welcomed by a guy with a big hat and boots! Looks like we're in the right spot! Everything looked good so we just went with a couple Picnics for the family. That comes with Brisket, ribs, sausage and your choice of 2 sides. Brisket (4): Pretty tender. The smoke flavor was just okay. You can taste it and it was there, but it wasn't that strong. I like it strong. It was good though. Sausage (5): I was impressed with this. Smoke flavor came through well and the casing had a good pop to it. Ribs (3): Good flavors, but too much bite. I like more of a tender rib. Good smoke flavors though. They served all kinds of drinks from IPA's to whisky. Pick your poison to go with your meat. They give you a plate of pickles, onions, and jalapenos to pair with your meat along with some texas toast. Their sides were decent. I was surprised I liked their collard greens. I generally don't like that stuff. Overall, decent BBQ joint. They even have a large mirror over the slicing table so you can watch them slice up your brisket. I want to come when they have Beef ribs.

Hush puppies, Pork Ribs, Price per Pound, Pulled Pork 1/4 lb., Brisket 1/4 lb.

Stopped by on a Wednesday around 1pm. Parking lot, good atmosphere, friendly staff. We started with hushpuppies, then moved onto brisket, pulled pork, and pork ribs. Hushpuppies were fine, seemed pre-made and flash fried to reheat. We really enjoyed the 1/2 lb pork ribs, tender meat, which unfortunately solidified once it cooled (inevitable). Brisket wasn't toooo juicy or fatty, but possibly just the cut we got. Pulled pork was fine, pretty standard. Had leftovers between the two of us, but $70ish pre-tip seemed a bit steep for what we ordered. If we were to revisit, would not order the pulled pork, get pork ribs, and hope for fatty pieces of brisket.

Chili, Quart Corn Puddin and pork ribs.

LEAVING SEATTLE FOR TEXAS! That's what it feels like when you step inside Jack's. The decor the food the drinks including your bartender waiter, with his Texas accent and cowboy hat, make you feel like you left Seattle far behind. The Ribs are "fall off the bone" style and dry rubbed. Jack's BBQ sauce is available in regular and jalapeño spiced! I had the Pork Ribs which came with two sides. I chose Corn Puddin and a cup of their delicious all meat chili! MmmmmMmmmm. If you like Texas BBQ, you can't get more authentic than Jack's! I will definitely return AND bring a friend! Cheers!

Texas Trinity

Overall: Service - Excellent. Fast & Friendly Ambiance - Charming, Modern Western, Clean Food - Good Detail: As a couple we ordered the Texas Trinity and upgraded our sides to larger sides for $4 more. Trinity comes with Beef Ribs, Sausages, and Brisket. The jalapeño cheddar sausage was DELICIOUS. The brisket was tender and tasty. The ribs were not my favorite. They were smoked and sweet with dry rub but needed something else. Kind of too plain for me. The mac and cheese was not great. They put jalapeños in it but it was still flavorless. They also put some jalapeño in the hush puppies which were very dry. The coleslaw was enjoyable. The cornbread was dense and plain. There's not many bbq joints in Seattle proper. I may return to have drinks and sausage or brisket sandwich! I gotta try that pecan pie next time.

Loved the tucked away location and the setting inside, the smoky savory scents are apparent you know this is the real deal for bbq. Service was fast and friendly. The meats were all smoky and tender, the side bbq sauce if you choose to use it actually has a little kick to it even for heat. Loved everything I got. Would eat there again.

Had another opportunity to try this spot. Food and service is good. Definitely love the Mac & Cheese and barbecue baked beans. The ribs were tender & the brisket was moist.

This was a cool establishment. Not many places welcome youvthe way that Darian welcomed us when we walked in. His smile and sunny disposition made it known that this was the right place to eat. It definitely has that southern look to the establishment. They did a great job bringing what the world thinks of Texas alive. The food was actually good. Henry was a fabulous host. I was skeptical about Greens and the Brisket but after a few bites I knew that I made the right choice. The drinks were also the way to go. I typically always go for the old fashioned but I was a sucker for their Manhattan. *edit: my only recommendation at this time is that you guys start putting a big cube or sphere of ice in the old fashioned instead of regular ice chips. The regular ice chips dilute the flavor too fast and takes away from the flavor Would I recommend yes, If I stayed in the area this would be a frequented spot

Jack himself is often in house & he was there the day we came in!

All the…read moreoutdoor tables were full when we arrived at 6, so we put our name on the list for inside and waited about 30 minutes. The oysters were the main draw for me, and they were totally worth the visit. Old Stove serves them with a savory watermelon sauce in addition to a traditional cocktail sauce--eaten together, it's a flavor explosion that I can't quite describe. We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs. Overall, Old Stove Brewing is the perfect combo of good location, good food, and good beer. Definitely recommend a visit when in the Pike Place area!

They gave us these post cards to write down our individual drinks. FYI - this place requires using your smart phone to scan a QR code for the menu. We ordered 2 apps (salmon dip with pita chips & chips and cheese dip) I ordered fish and chips. Buddy got the meat loaf. Our beer showed up quick. Waiter always checked on us often. Our apps showed up and they were both delicious. Then 5 minutes later our main dish orders showed up. Wasn't too happy with that because we wasted time to taste our beers and snack on the apps. They need to work on their timing. Need at least 10 minutes in between the beer and apps. The food overall is admittedly top notch. Fish and chips FRESH! The fish was juicy and the fried crust was perfection. Pieces were large. They will ask if you want 3 or 4. 3 is enough. If they can work on timing the drinks and food this place would be a 5 out 5, but will deduct a star because of that. The overall vibe of the place was nice. Huge layout with wooden picnic style tables. Outdoor tables if you're lucky to get one. Large tanks to brew beer surrounding the room and a merch table.

Located at the north end of Pikes Place (across the street from Cutters) is this gem of a find. We made reservations online and was able to get seated quickly (it fills up fast). Looking at the menu it looked like we also timed it with happy hour (double win!). We quickly place an order for two dozen oysters (at $2/ea it's a steal) while we perused the menu. After ordering the oyster platter arrived and it was so fresh, chilled and tasty. We quickly devoured it. Moving into dinner, some got the crab rolls, but I settled for the new menu item: halibut. The delightfully savory halibut was moist and served with a nice side of potato and was as perfect as one can make a halibut dish. I would eat this again in a heartbeat. Oh man. Expensive yes, but everything was top notch delicious. The mains were awesome, our 10oz fillets were thick and juicy with great peppercorn crust (ask, we didn't see it on the menu) and rich sauces. The sea bass was incredibly moist and flavorful to the point my no-fish son stole seconds. The lamb was arranged beautifully and cooked perfectly. We had a few not-perfect points but not big enough to detract. My son wasn't a fan of the lamb sauce, our steaks were a bit overdone for medium-rare. Still delicious. The creamed corn and augratin potatoes...omg...open a restaurant just for these. They were both creamy, impossibly flavorful, and still stand out from similar dishes you find elsewhere without straying from their core identity. Just be careful, we certainly overate and all the cream and butter/oil didn't help us on that side. I can't say much about the caviar. The ones who wanted it loved it but weren't raving. They liked the onion dip and chips over a standard cream and bread or cracker. Me...I ate a ton of the chips with onion dip only and absolutely loved it. Don't think I'd pay $40 for chips and dip but that's just more caviar for the rest of the table! Caesar was good, but hard to beat a Howie tableside. Grapefruit soda was worth it, very refreshing and strong natural grapefruit flavor. Woth a note, our server was excellent and worked with us to explain everything well, our waters were never less than half full and we're bottomless pits when it comes to water.

What it really comes down to for me is expectations being set based on pricing…read more Let's say I go to a restaurant and the cost of everything is $100 (for the math, not the realism). In Seattle, I know that there's a 10% sales tax so I would be expecting to pay about $130 after tax and tip. under this system, I order my food, the subtotal is $100, I see that I'm being charged a service charge at 21% on $110 which means I'm paying $133.00 and based on the wording of the menu, my server is getting screwed because the business is keeping that money. also, it is pretty fucked up to charge 21% on the after tax amount. Service charges and tip should be on the pre-tax amount, nobody at Seattle City Hall helped the service staff to bus dishes, or to deliver my food. So now I feel like I need to add another $20 which leaves me with $20 less and a negative final experience at the restaurant. I would much rather the menu price reflect the $119.75 pre-tax, which is still $133 with tax before tip. I don't mind spending $150 on food, when I think that's what I was going to be spending. I do mind spending that when the math seems sketchy. I don't like feeling taken advantage of, which is what the policy and the wording of the policy left me feeling at the end of the night. I suggested to the owner is it to just raise your prices to reflect your fixed costs and either get rid of tipping entirely or get rid of the service charge.
