Decided to try this place for lunch a few days ago, it's conveniently located across the street from the hospital I work at. Sat down and placed my order, 40 minutes later I had my food. Food was not good but not horrible it was just ok. Went in to the restroom to wash up. Restroom was disgusting! Crap was all over the toilet seat and the water tank. when I let the bus boy know about it he looked at me like I was crazy. Lol. Like it's part of the decor. never again!!! I'm not one to write a review that might hurt a business but I feel that it's important to let consumers know of the disgusting shape the restroom was in. If your food isn't delicious and something to rave about.... at least keep your restroom clean. read more

Went here a few times with my hubby for breakfast. The last time we went WAS the last time! We came in and sat down, a young kid brought us our drinks and that was the last we saw of anyone! People that came in after us had their orders taken but not us! We finally got irritated and left what we thought would cover our drinks on the table and left. We went for a brunch meal about 10:30am. When entering the restaurant , It was like an office space turned ino a restaurant and I was reminded of the employees coffee room of where I worked. Even though there was only a few apparent construction workers as customers there, it took awhile for someone to take our order. I ordered a vegetable omelet and hubby ordered a taco salad. Th ingredients of the omelet were obviously all put in a blender and then in a skillet. It was served on my plate in a big blob. It was the worst omelet I have ever eaten and actually I did not eat all of it. Hubby's salad was bland and mostly lettuce. Very unappealing and he did not care for it at all. We both felt like we needed to go home and find something else to eat. So we were not impressed at all and vowed not to return. read more

Jackie's is a family owned and operated cafe. Everyone there is family so not every wait staff has had years of training. The food is of good quality and well prepared. Their baked good are prepared on site and are yummy. Special requests have never been a problem and if you have dietary restrictions they are able to tell you what is in the food. A lot of home style food, including their salsa's. Three types of eggs Benedict made with Canadian Bacon. Wish they did offer a sausage patty with breakfast. The weekends can be busy. They have seating for large groups. They have good herb potatoes and do have hash browns, but I would try the herb potatoes first. The are doing dinner now plus they have numerous sandwiches and salads so it's not just a breakfast place. read more

Visiting from San Diego and came upon this gem. Breakfast variety was straight forward. The chorizo special was really tasty. I had the eggs cooked over medium and draped over the chorizo.... Best way to eat it ( in my opinion). I will come back for seconds or to try a different dish. read more

I ordered the "Greek Salad" it was awful. The salad dressing was something of an Italian vinagrette ? not sure but there was little resemblance to an authentic Greek Salad even drive thru fast food places serve a better tasting dressing. The salad ingredients included tomato wedges which looked old, recycled or cold burned, lots and lots of hard carrots, and very low on the Feta. This item should be removed from their menu since it is so far from satisfactory. I was thrilled to take a guest with me she ordered an omelette with avocado which she enjoyed. The good reviews are honest too but this my 4th visit was horrible due to the item I ordered and the service. The poor service was reflected in the way the salad was made and nothing remarkable in the table service. There are other restaurants in the area that are worth my time and bucks. read more

Worst breakfast ever. I looked here first and saw these positive reviews and I'm wondering where you folks were eating because this place didn't live up to what you said. At least half the tables were empty and it took 45 minutes to get our food. The coffee was just okay. The servers didn't seem interested in working. No enthusiasm at all. When the food arrived, it was barely room temperature. The cheese on the omlette looked like the plate had been sitting for awhile. The hash browns were burnt and lacking any potato flavor. The bacon, which was way too flat, was cold and tasted like it had been cooked the day before. The french toast was greasy and had no flavor, even the syrup (which I never use normally) couldn't help. No need to revisit. read more

This place is my husband's obsession. He eats there whenever he has the chance. He always goes for the Blueberry Pancakes, scrambled eggs and cup of oatmeal. They are dreamy. While he's the creature of habit, I tend to branch out. I've ordered the Mexican Papas. ( I add two eggs, over easy, on top.) It's so good. I've also tried the Eggs Benedict (delish), the Personal Trainer omelette, the Chorizo, and the Hamburger at lunch rocks too. My mother-in-law loves the Copenhagen Crepes. We've never had a bad thing. The family that owns the restaurant is awesome. They are hard working and so friendly. When you are there all the time, they tend to know you. read more

You shouldn't think of those kids as one of the downfalls. You should appreciate the fact that these kids at a fairly young and working. It builds character, teaches them a thing or two about responsibility, and the value of a dollar. I mean really u don't see that every day. Besides, kids aren't the only ones that sometimes forget the refills. I've been to many restaurants where older waiters have performed a lot worse. These kids are respectful,i for one I see it as a great thing. (good job you guys) read more

Located on the corner of 10th st W and avenue L on the lot where Carl's Jr is and is tucked in a corner hidden from view. We've been wanting to check out this place. I got curious coz this place was packed. Went here finally for the first time with some friends who've been here and quite excited to take us. So our adventure begins. We had the benedict alex and the veggie benedict. The veggie benedict was good, but the best was the benedict alex. It has comes with a small artichoke on top and adds some crunch to the benedict. Awesome flavor combination. Also get it with the herbed potatoes. So far this is my favorite breakfast place in the AV. It's definitely the best among the ones out here. It's not about the quantity, it's about quality. You get a lot of that here. Even some of our french friends are impressed. I am not one to complain, but this place was awful. The service was the worst. Not once did the servers check on us. I had to ask for more coffee. It took over 10 mins to have the serve come and take our order then the food didn't come out to our specifications. And I am not picky. When it was time to pay the girls at the counter didn't even speak to us but were playing on their phones. They had no smiles and were just rude. Very bad experience. As soon as we got there my gf and ask for a booth, the host/waitress rolled her eyes and proceeded to clean the only one avail to seat us. She then proceeded to ask what we wanted to drink only get get it wrong and become even more irritated for no reason. I thought WTF is wrong with this chick? My family and I ate at this restaurant while we were in the area and it was delicious. All the plates are under $10 dollars. I ordered the strawberry french toast that came with two eggs and your choice of bacon or sausage -$6.99.....this dish is one of their specials that are written on whiteboards that can be found around the restaurant. We had breakfast there this morning. Don't get the waffle, no flavor, not airy. But don't let the name mislead you. It should be Juanita Cafe. We couldn't hear each other talk over the drone of the cook yelling out orders, and the people who work there speaking Spanish to each other. This is the best place to get a great breakfast and service that is wonderful. Every Sunday my family goes to Jackie's Cafe after church and it is always a treat! The atmosphere is wonderful and the food is AMAZING!!!! The food is good but the service is horrible. My sister was visiting from Colorado and wanted an omelet for breakfast. I immediately thought of Jackie's. How embarrassing! Our waitress was so lethargic. We finally got the other waitress to refill our coffee before our breakfast arrived but once our food was served we never had anyone come back to our table. No more coffee, no check on whether everything was alright or whether we needed anything else. It's always a shame when good food is spoiled by bad customer service. Won't be back!! read more
