My husband and I LOVE this place!!! We go here at least once a month for a good home style breakfast. I haven't been here for lunch but the breakfast items are delicious and you can tell everything is homemade. I have been recommending this place to everyone I know!!! So why the 4 stars???? As much as a love this place, ordering can become confusing if you aren't ordering from the hands on menu (at least it has been in our experience). They have a great hands on menu but also they have 3-4 different "Specials" signs around the restaurant. When I have gone, I order the same thing. Each time it has come out it has been the wrong item. When I explain that it was the special from the front sign, they state that it sounded like the special from a different sign. I usually never send back food, but there food is so good that when you have it in your head what you want, you really want that item. I have finally started to order and point to the sign that I am speaking from. Mostly, I think it is from the inexperience of some of the staff. You can tell it is a family owned restaurant and it must be the kids or grand-kids of the owner that are usually the servers. They are very nice and friendly but I just think that there is a little bit of inexperience. Needless to say this is definitely a gem in the AV! read more

The food was ok. Hubby had a customized omelet and herb potatoes. He said it was good. I got the Belgian waffle. Service was slow and not very friendly. He was served about 10 minutes before me and his bread came out with my waffle. I never did get my coffee cake that we requested before our meals. Talk about a fluffy omelet and big waffles. I got a Ortega omelet and the herb potatoes my daughter got just a waffle and drink 20.00 with tip. The food was awesome but a little expensive for what we got. The food I give five stars the price I give much less. read more

Tried something different this time had south of the border omelet green chilli guacamole sour cream black beans. This is very good choice for a vegetarian option. I will order this in the future. Customer service was great. Always crowded. read more

The food here was mediocre at best. Small portions for the price and horrible service. Although our food came quickly, our waiter was nowhere to be seen for coffee/soda refills and we couldn't even get our check to leave. We will not be going back to this establishment. read more

Great place to get breakfast. My wife really loves the California eggs Benedict. It is probably the best thing in it. Most people I know get that and love it. I normally get the French toast or a sandwich, and I only think those are good not great. But I do recommend those over most places for breakfast. read more

Very disappointed and would not return based on the experience and meal I had. Maybe I'm spoiled by liking fresh food. I ordered the vegetable tapas and got a platter that had canned mushrooms, pre frozen spinach, mushy broccolli and some very salty pesto on top that I scraped off as it was just too salty to enjoy. I asked for salsa instead and they brought me a squeeze bottle of some very hot chili sauce. Not like any salsa I have experienced and did not like at all. The "highly recommended" carrot nut bread was oily tasting and I did not even finish it. I ordered a pancake and even the pancake was flat and tasteless. Well I can at least say I tried it. The waiter was nice though so I give 1 star for the food and one for him. read more

This place is excellent ! I have only been here for breakfast and have had great service, along with a tasty meal. The servers here are prompt, and ensure that your drink is always full. It was extremely busy when we walked in, as there was a soccer tournament in town, but nevertheless we still were seated and eating within 20 minutes. My girlfriend got pancakes, and I got one of their omelettes, and we were only able to finish about half of the meals! Portion sizes are healthy, so don't plan on grabbing desert after this... even though double D's is across the way. Will be back soon ! read more

This is the second time Debbie and I have ate here. The food was just as good this time as the first. We came here for a late breakfast after attending the Lancaster HOG meeting. I had the special, it was eggs benedict but it was made with cornbeef hash instead of Canadian bacon. The hollandaise tastes home made and not from a can or package and the cornbeef makes a nice change from the normal Canadian bacon. Debbie had the chorizo and eggs. In typical fashion the chorizo and eggs was scrambled together however it could have stood to have more chorizo as the eggs overwhelmed the meat. We both got the herbed potatoes with our breakfasts. The potatoes are some of the best tasting I have ever had. Not sure what all they put in them but they have a wonderful flavor and are crisped up just right. Overall this is a little gem tucked way back in a strip mall. If you want a great place for breakfast then you need to try this place. read more

The food is delicious! The souffles are like bomb! The crepes are super delicious and their hot chocolate was yummy. I had the eggs benedict and those were super delicious also. Good prices.. When you come in make sure they see you so that they can come up to you and take your drink order.. food comes out timely and again its delicious! read more

After my first scathing review, and months later, I was dragged to Jackie's by a co-worker, kicking and screaming all the way. We went for breakfast and I must say, it was dam good. And, what a terrific and creative selection they had! They service was better, but far from great. It took too long to get the grub, but we had a large group. Waitress was okay. I would definitely recommend them for breakfast. Yum. How bout hiring some people who show a little enthusiasm. Maybe it's the minimum wage that keeps them from getting decent help. read more

Tried Jackie's Cafe for breakfast yesterday. The food and service were both good. I had the French toast sandwich with orange juice. Everything was prepared well and the order came to my table fast. I think this place will be my new little local breakfast spot when I'm craving a good meal in the morning. Worth it just for the carrot bread! Jackie's has a solid selection of benedicts that are definitely worth trying, and is one of the few places in the valley that actually has waffles on the menu! Solid all-american diner. The friendly server recommended a buffalo chicken sandwich (off menu) so I went for it and it was delicious. My only suggestion would be to not cut the chicken breast in half because it ended up overcooked and dry. Food is always great. Been here probably 50 times for breakfast and they are always consistent. Benedicts are on point. Herb potatoes are delicious. Best pancakes I've ever had. Usually can't stand pancakes. They need something special to impress. Well, Ms Carolina's recipe has got it. Small, family owned. We have small children, they are always helpful and always remember what we want. It is a shame they are only open for breakfast and brunch, dinner would be amazing! The staff is friendly, but very slow, but the good food was worth the lack of service. We got menus right away, but took forever to order. Then it took sooooo long for our food to arrive, then she didn't bring our bread order until we were finished! I had asked for well buttered sour dough, I got cold no butter sour dough. They have the biggest menu to choose from, something for everyone. I got my favorite omelet, spinach, mushrooms and Swiss cheese. I loved that the good stuff was mixed into the eggs as the omelet was cooking, just the way I like it. They make their own green and red salsa, would highly recommend the green. You get a choice of breakfast breads, muffin, biscuit or a slice of coffee cake. I have to say the food gets a 5 star, the service gets 1 star. I will return however. read more

The breakfast was just ok. STAY AWAY from the tuna melt sandwich. It was tiny and super greasy. Defiantly not worth $8. The pastrami sandwich was tiny too with no meat. The service was terrible. Waiter never asked how we were doing and never refilled our drinks. After 30+min of an empty drink we were ready to go. Sat there done for another 15+min and then had to go ask for our bill. Three orders of Eggs with Hollandaise, all arrived hard boiled. They remade them, and the eggs were prepared correctly. However they must have used the original muffin as it was soggy and the hash browns were cold. Also, eggs Florentine typically uses fresh spinach, but this was frozen chopped.
