Jackie's Cafe is one of the best cafes I have ever been to and I've been all over. The soufflé omelettes are airy and delicious. They offer many choices, my favorite is the Gorgonzola scramble. My son loves the Copenhagen pancakes. I also always order a side of fries because they are delicious hand cut yumminess. The restaurant is family owned and run and they always greet guests with a friendly smile. read more

Totally under impressed. So we walk in and it's busy so we figured ahhhhhhhhhh haw! it should be good. Well, not so much first we had to wait for a lengthy time to get our drinks which were coffee and tea and when the waitress brought them we asked for silverware as none of the tables had any. She said okay and said, what can I get you as in the food order. We were we would like to stir our cream in the coffee. Oh, okay in a moment what would you like. She didn't get it at all. So we gave up gave her our order and then she gave us silverware. That was just stupid and irritating. So our food comes which was very simple a waffle with fruit and a fruit plate. It was astronomical for what you got. 28.00 ! the service was absolutely terrible and the owner walked around with the most negative energy I have ever seen. So we asked many times for more hot water for the tea and coffee and that took way to long to bring. So it comes time to leave and these waitresses did everything they could to avoid eye contact in order for us to pay. We had to walk up to the service station to ask for the check. That took too long too and they walked slowly as molasses pours from a bottle to give us the bill. The only tip they got was a hint which was 0 on 28.00 I bet they didn't get the hint. read more

Great spot for breakfast! Huge selection of omelets with a wide array of meat and veggie choices. Yay! Chicken basil with pesto?? I have no idea what it tastes like, but it sure sounds delicious. Check the Specials boards for the available yummies that day. Food is tasty. Service is polite. Coffee and hot water for tea were never empty. Restaurant ambiance is basic, but very clean and I've never had a problem getting a table. Will certainly be back. read more

If this was the first time I went I would have given them 5 stars but I came back the second time around and it wasn't great at all. The service was very slow and there was during anyone in the cafe. It took while for my table to get our food and when we did get it the food was cold. I had to wait even longer just to get my toast. Usually if my food was cold, I would have asked them why it was cold and made them take it back to make me another one, but it took awhile to get our food I couldn't wait any longer and my cousins had to be on their way. On top of that, it took another 15 minutes to get our checks and we sat there another 10 minutes that we just gave up and paid at the register. Like I mentioned before, it was not busy. The workers weren't paying attention and just talking to each other. I'm not sure if I would want to come back here again. read more

Jackie's Sandwich! Herb potatoes! Those are the two things I can't get past when we eat at Jackie's Cafe. Both are just wonderful. I've tried a few other items and they were good, but Jackie's Sandwich (chicken breast, swiss cheese, sprouts, avocado and tomato on a telera roll) and the herb potatoes are the cat's meow. And each entrée comes with a delicious little macadamia nut cookie (which they sell by the dozen). The iced tea is freshly brewed, with refills coming before you NEED them. There's a spotless restroom handy when you've had a little too much iced tea (or anything else) to drink. This locally owned restaurant is always clean and the service is usually great. It's tucked into the far corner of a strip mall on 10th West & L, so if you don't see it at first, keep looking. You're going to like what you find! read more

I eat out a lot spending so much time on the road. I try to eat at local eateries as often as possible when eating out. I don't know why it is these days but service almost always sux. From having to flag someone down for coffee or water refills to having eyes rolled when asking for jelly to go to the toast I ordered. That was far from the case here. My waiter was a Asian in his 20s (if he had a name tag I would put his name to ensure he gets credit) he was on top of it. Not only making sure we were always topped but was genuinely kind and polite. It's hard to find employees with such good table side manner. You defiantly have a winner with this guy. My Dad and i went to Jackie's Cafe for breakfast. The ambience was not much to wright home about, kinda plane inside. We sat down and ordered our drinks and asked the waiter to give us a few minutes to look threw the menu, the waiter told me to call him when we were ready to order. So after a couple minutes pass we were ready to order and i was trying to get our waiters attention but he seemed pre occupied staring at the two female customers sitting a couple tables down. So I got up from the table and almost had to wave my hand in front of his face to get his attention. So we finally placed or order and got our food. I do have to say that there herb potatoes were excellent to say the least, And there omelets were just as good. I probably will eat there again and i will be sure to bring my girlfriend next time in hopes that it might get me a little more attention service wise. read more

This must be a family owned restaurant. This place is delicious! I love their herb potatoes and omelets. The waiter who was really young gave us good service and kept coming back to check on us. Another cool little spot found for brunch. Was drawn here for there Swiss Almond crepes. Turns out they are very tasty and not super sweet. Also shared the California Benedict with egg, ham, hollandaise and avocado. Great choice. Side of fruit was also very tasteful. Place was crowded at 10am. Had a great breakfast at Jackie's!!! I had the California Benedict with hash browns well done and grilled onions on top just the way I like it!! I requested the hollandaise sauce on the side and a to go cup for my coffee. Everything was exactly the way I wanted it and they always have a friendly disposition. I requested the homemade green and red salsa which is very tasty!! Everything tasted so fresh!! By the way the coffee was piping hot and fresh!!! The first time we came here it was a busy Saturday morning so when the service was a bit slow, it was understandable. Today we came on a slower Wednesday morning and the service still left something to be desired. The restaurant only had one server on and a busser/runner. She had at least 10 tables! How can you expect anyone to give good service when they are stretched that thin? In my opinion the food was okay. The omelettes have too much egg and not enough of the other ingredients for me, so I didn't really care for them. The herb potatoes were excellent and the coffee cake is delicious. Unfortunately, I have been waiting for the past 10 minutes to get a box to take it home. I doubt we will be coming back here anytime soon unless they hire a couple of servers. We are regulars at Jackie's Cafe....today was the worst service ever. Food came out separate, it was good but cold after everyone received their meal. The staff was rude, and unattentive I had to ask 3 times for my daughters toast. When I paid I witnessed all of the staff eating over the food they were serving to their customers. My family has been here at least 20 times prior. I have always have a great experience. That is until today. No one really watching the door to get names for the different parties coming in. Get seated and drinks brought quickly. Before the waitress even gets to us the people sat after us had their food. We had not even placed our order! From sit down to order was 15 minutes. From sit down to food served 45 minutes with people getting food well before us that say down after us. Then our order was wrong. She was sorry but 3/4 done with food the wrong was fixed and the missing toast finally brought to the table. Repeatedly had to ask for drink refills. Never asked if everything was "ok " . I hate to say we will never come back because I think we will. If it happens again we won't come back and not sure I will recommend it as easily as I had in the past. This is one place I look forward to visiting whenever I can make it out to the AV. I have visited this restaurant numerous times since it opened and I've always been pleased with the service and especially the food. The young lady that owns this restaurant is incredibly hard working and really strives to put good, fresh tasting food in front of you, for a reasonable price with attentive service. I make special requests, they never seem to mind and they always get my order right. I appreciate the family atmosphere and always feel as though I'm welcomed back. They have crepes on their breakfast menu and several other items you will not find at a chain. read more
