Our boss took us out for our unit breakfast. It was a weds morning and it was packed. But the waiters where quick to take our order. They have a great selection of omelettes, waffles, crepes. We had breakfast here on Sunday morning around 11:00 am. Restaurant was full, but the wait wasn't very long to get a table. Ordered the Gorgonzola Scramble with herb potatoes and Raspberry Coffeecake. The scramble was very good, fresh mushrooms, spinach and a decent amount of cheese were in a well cooked scramble. However the potatoes were not what any of us were expecting. They had flavor, but turmeric was the main ingredient and honestly they weren't appetizing looking at all. Coffeecake was moist and full of real raspberries, which is a pleasant surprise. One person got the Three Sausage omelet, loved it. Full of meat and the eggs were fluffy. The other person had the Eggs Benedict. This was a serious disappointment. If you like hollandaise sauce, that isn't what they are serving. It isn't even a good package hollandaise, it was like a weird yellow gravy. Pass on any Benedict if you know what a real one tastes like. Eggs were a bit runny, other items were standard fair, nothing to complain about, just the usual stuff. Service was ok. Drinks were kept filled but it was a basic take your order and give a check, nothing exceptional. I will come back mainly for the omelets and try some other menu items. read more

We discovered Jackie's cafe last Saturday when my husband and I were looking for somewhere new to eat. The food was great, the environment was nice, it was clean and the staff was friendly! The first time around my husband got the biscuits and gravy and I got the California Benedict! Those were the best eggs I have ever had and their herb potatoes are ahhhhh-mazing! We went back on New Years ever for round 2! LOL TWICE IN ONE WEEK, that's how good it is. Yummm, favorite place in Lancaster....I guess it's the only non chain place I could find for miles. Work takes me here and this is a guaranteed stop every time. Absolutely love Jackie's for breakfast, and I'm not even big on breakfast food. We have been here multiple times and have never had a bad experience. The service is always on point and the food is always excellent. I have tried at least three different types of omelets and they have all tasted great. I try and get something different every time, and so far my favorite is the crab omelet. That one is definitely a must try if you like seafood or crab. It's a nice mix of crab, avocado, and mushrooms topped with hollandaise sauce. My wife is a fan of thier B.L.A.S.T. sandwich which she has ordered on more than one occasion. She loves that they have a wide variety of menu options, whether it be for breakfast or lunch. The one thing that sets Jackie's apart from the rest are thier herb potatoes. Those things are so tasty and delicious. They blow every others restaurant's country potatoes away by a mile. Jackie's can get pretty busy, especially on weekends. I like that they can accommodate large parties. We have been here a couple times with 10+ people and we did not have a problem being seated. Easily of the best breakfasts I've ever had. The service was great too, our coffee cups were kept full and our server answered all of our questions patiently even though she was pretty busy. I had the California Benedict, which is basically eggs Benedict with avocado added. The Hollandaise was outstanding and I've never had such perfectly poached eggs before. I would also like to know their secret to keeping the English muffins crunchy until the last bite. So delicious. The hash browns were exactly how I like them, thin and crispy and my side of bacon was probably the only thing I would not rate 5 stars. I asked for crispy and it was a little softer than I like, but still tasty. My guy had the chorizo special, which is a fancier version of chorizo and eggs...scrambled eggs, chorizo, cilantro, green onions and cheese. He was in heaven as those are all pretty much his favorite foods. Two huge flour tortillas and hash browns complete his meal nicely. Overall, pretty good experience. Service was a bit spotty at the beginning, but was much improved by halfway through our visit. Got our menus right away, but took at least 10 minutes for someone to come take our food order and bring our drinks. I think they noticed that we were being neglected because I kept looking around at one point, just waiting for someone to come to our table. There was a huge apology for the wait, and another apology 20 minutes later because there was a delay on our food, too. Aside from the delay, service was super friendly and very hospitable. From the moment we got our food, we were checked on multiple times and our drinks were constantly refilled. I recommend trying one of the omelette souffles. Get the herb potatoes instead of the hash browns. You also get a choice of a bakery item --- the carrot walnut loaf is delicious! Tucked in the corner of a pseudo strip mall off of Avenue L and 10th Street West in Lancaster, Jackie's Cafe is actually a neat little find. Parking is plentiful of course, and the restaurant is located across from the Panda Express here. Boasting a fairly extensive menu of diner favorites, the last thing I ordered from here was the steak enchilada which came with herb potatoes. The food was absolutely delicious but be warned - service is a little slow and it does take time for your food to come out as well. If you only have an hour for lunch, it might be just barely enough assuming the place isn't packed full. I think they might be understaffed because there is only 1 or 2 waiters serving the dining area and when it's packed don't expect regular refills on your drinks. You might have to flag them down (which I don't enjoy doing - you pay $2+ for a soda so it should always been flowing) Jackie's Cafe does thankfully accept credit cards, though I did not see a minimum charge posted anywhere. Aside from the service which leaves a bit to be desired, Jackie's Cafe is definitely a worthwhile restaurant to provide your hard-earned money to. If they can get around to getting the food out a little quicker, and provide some more attentive service, I would gladly give this place 5 stars. read more

However this whole week my husband and I have been looking forward to ordering breakfast for takeout, not only did we look at the menu we looked through the photos. I call for takeout the woman says to hold, not uncommon, but 7 mins later on hold listening to the employees hollering for one another was enough for me to hang up. Our family has been going there for the past five years. The food is always consistant. I HAVE MY CHEAT MEALS HERE. Which says ALOT. It is a family ran business, which we adore. The staff gauge conversation well, they will be chatty if you are chatty, and will be pleasent and quick if you are. The facility itself is always clean. The tables, chairs, menus and silverware are always neat and clean. The consistancy of the service/staff, food and general atomosphere is what keeps out family coming back. Warning: They do get really busy. We dont mind, it means business is good and we pray this place stays open until our children can bring their children there for sunday morning breakfast :) read more

Wanting breakfast, but not wanting it so bad we go to Denny's. And I like to support local restaurants. Per usual, the three of us order more than you would think we could eat and end up polishing the dishes off. Since my friend couldn't decide between Eggs Alex and a Corned Beef and Hash Egg Bene, I decided to order the Eggs Alex in addition to my No Carb Breakfast. Our third participant decided to have a crepe as well as an omelette. The No Carb Breakfast was nothing to write home about, I actually think the spinach they used is the frozen chopped kind that's been warmed up. The Eggs Alex was good, with the poached eggs patiently waiting for you to unleash the golden goodness that is the over-easy yolk that flows oh-so-perfectly over the canadian bacon. It also comes with a couple of spears of asparagus so you feel like you're getting some sort of veggie in there. As far as the guy with the crepe and omelette, he picked over his omelette in favor of the crepe, all the while thinking that he had only dessert, stating that "this crepe is so much better than this waffle". After which we corrected him that he was eating an omelette, which only reflects bad on this guy, not the establishment. The service was slow for me, and the food wasn't extraordinary enough that would make me wait patiently. read more

This was my first visit to Jackie's, a family-owned Breakfast-Lunch operation in Lancaster. I was glad to find a spot serving breakfast all day as this was one of those mornings where I just wanted breakfast but it wasn't morning anymore. I found the place through other Yelper's recommendations and am glad I went. The food was great. I had a simple breakfast, eggs, bacon, hash-browns, and a single biscuit with gravy instead of toast. At first I was a little crestfallen when they brought my plate out; I'd ordered eggs "over-easy" but the eggs they brought me were almost over hard, the whites seared to a golden yellow and almost no runny yolk left. So I called the waiter over and asked him to send the eggs back and bring me a couple of over easies. I was polite about it, of course, but overdone fried eggs are just not appetizing to me, certainly not what I want to eat for breakfast. I can report that I had not the slightest problem. I showed the waiter the eggs, he agreed they were overdone, and the cook fixed me up a couple perfectly cooked over-easies and hauled the vulcanized examples back to the kitchen. Anyway, the bacon was great, good quality, lots of lean meat. They use a press on the grill which yields perfectly ironed out bacon strips. This is fine if you like your bacon that way, and many do. If left to my own devices, I prefer the texture variations that result from letting bacon just cook on the grill and wrinkle up a bit. If done right, the slight variations in texture produce the ideal in toothsomeness, to my way of thinking. However, there are a lot of people who prefer uniform crispness, and that is what you get at Jackie's. It is really tasty, nonetheless. The hash browns were good, and the gravy they served on the biscuit was just outstanding! Savory with lots of flavor, made with real sausage. Best sausage gravy I have had in a long time, rivaling the best homemade in terms of flavor. The bill, with 20% tip, was 10 bucks, so no complaints on the prices. Service was very friendly and quick, too. About the only thing I don't like is that they do not feature a real Hollandaise sauce for their extensive collection of Benedict dishes. I hate canned or mix-based "Hollandaise" as it always tastes like crap. Real Hollandaise is Egg yolks, butter, and lemon with a pinch of cayenne. Simple. If Jackie's cooks could learn to master real Hollandaise, the place would get a fifth star easily. But even though I won't be ordering any of the benedicts, I will be back for their solid breakfast menu and friendly service. read more

Everything seemed canned or prepackaged product. It was good, but nowhere near Home Cooking. I will return for a try at their sandwiches. Do yourself a favor however, if alone do not sit at the counter. It obviously is not for guests; it was a work station for about 6 servers while I was trying to eat. Out of ALL the places I've eaten in Lancaster and Palmdale,cafes and diners are usually the best choices for me....I decided to treat my mother to a "just because lunch" and I Googled the best places to eat in Lancaster being sick of the same old same old restaurants and their mediocre food with bloated prices...Jackie's Cafe had the BEST reviews. LOVE this place...its homey and tucked away and the people were EXTRA friendly but not overbearing have a HUGE menu which surprised me and made it difficult to make a choice as everything sounded so GOOD!!! It may have taken a while to get the food but we weren't in a hurry and it was well worth the wait. To sum it all up...I wanted to go back for dinner..I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! I just wish I had known of this place sooner..I've been to Panda Express and Carl' Jr. but never even saw this place I will DEFINITELY be back as this place is my FAVORITE!! read more
