So I drive tour buses carrying entertainers ALL OVER THE U.S. I found this joint on the pinball map app. The bartender, Harper was AMAZING. I wish all of the pinball bars were this much fun. The only thing that could make this place cooler would be FOOD, but it still gets 5 stars simply based upon her service.

This place drew us here for the pinball and we stayed here for a while to try the new games we haven't tried before. They had such a great lineup of pinball machines! They had Halloween, The Mandalorian, the Creature of the Lagoon, Godzilla, Twilight Zone, Star Wars, and so many more! Great place for some drinks and some pinball!

Fantastic place. It's not too hipster and very approachable. I normally don't go to Williamsburg since it's too expensive and hip for me, but this place could change my mind. Pinball machines are in absolutely pristine condition and play nicely. The drinks are great and strong. Please come here and support this local small business!

High-end pinball in a low-end part of town. Sorry if that statement offends anyone (not really), but walking around Jackbar's neighborhood after dark might not be the best decision you make all week. During the day it's totally fine but, y'know, between the barred storefront windows and heaps of litter, cracker-ass pasty whiteboii Eric S roaming around here at midnight could end poorly. Sketchy surroundings notwithstanding, this is a pretty legit place to get your pinball fix. As of 5/15/16 there were 10 pinball machines in total, including 2 shiny new tables from Jersey Jack. The ten were: + Road Show + Fish Tales + Black Rose + Rollergames + Twilight Zone + Whirlwind + Game of Thrones + Wizard of Oz LE + The Hobbit LE + .......and last but not least, Big Juicy Melons (hosted by the very well-endowed Ellen, Helen, and Melony). Yeah that table was just one giant euphemism. lol bewbs. All games were 50¢, a good value. Jack*Bar does not serve food, only booze and soft drinks. The barkeep was pretty chill; he actually comped us a diet coke and club soda which was super nice of him. The bathroom had TONS of graffiti in/on it (I'm thinking it was intentional--like at Emporium Barcade in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood). What I found most interesting was that someone had taken a sharpie and scrawled an algebra problem on the wall......which I obviously solved. The answer was ' x = -3 ', for those wondering. Most of the scribbling was pretty funny, only a bit was in poor taste. Overall, the pinballs were in excellent condition. Road Show was my favorite and The Hobbit played beautifully, although WoZ LE had some major glitches going on. There was some sort of wiring short circuit underneath the playfield causing the lights to blink randomly, and the right flipper was completely dead. So that one needs major fixing. If pinball isn't really your thing, then I see no point to come here apart from a drink or four (besides admiring the giant naked lady painted on the wall). But silver ball fans would do well to spend ten bucks and a couple hours at Jackbar.

I feel I've spent enough time and $$$ here to update my review. Back to 5 stars! I've been back here enough to see that my last review was an anomaly. In this day and age of pseudo "dive" bars in NYC this is the real deal. When I say that I don't mean in the sense of a seedy, darkly lit bar room but more in the sense of reasonably priced drinks and no pretentious folks. Spent the past hour drinking happy hour priced High Life's while discussing the NYC Pinball scene with the owner (while he was doing up keep on the pinball machines to make sure they were in great shape for players) and Music from Def Leppard to Clarence Carter with the bar keep. The fact that I willingly take a NYC bus to get here should be enough of an indication of how I feel about Jackbar. *****

Great experience overall. I was thrown off a little because they have a mirror in the back that made me think it was a much larger bar filled with endless pinball machines. I'll definitely come back to play and drink. read more

The beer selection is so good that I'd come here even without pinball. That said: I love pinball, and I love even more that this is the only bar in the entire city that prices their machines at a reasonable 50 cents a play. Atmosphere is chill, bartenders are great, and any time I have a bit of time to kill in Williamsburg you'll find me here. read more

Jackbar to the rescue! Seriously. I worked tirelessly on a birthday party for my boyfriend (outside BBQ style, because obviously) and lo and behold the weather report 3 days before the planned shindig divvied out the bad news - 100% chance of rain! Ack! In full panic mode, I reached out to Jackbar in search of a laid back vibe, cool atmosphere, fun, and of course, space to hold 20+ people. Jon quickly responded, was more than happy to assist, and his enthusiasm for hosting us sealed the deal. The day of, the bartender Greg was so helpful and gave phenomenal service to all of us! Both Jon and Greg were very accommodating and were a fun addition to a very successful "BAR-b-q". I have always come to Jackbar for the pinball, the prices, and the games, but because of their efforts to ensure a perfect birthday party and help ease my stress, they have ensured I will always come back! Highly recommended for a party or just a quick beer and shot ($7 for a tallboy Tecate and a well shot, btw). Thanks again so much, Jackbar!! read more

I love this place! You get an automatic buyback before you get your first drink if you mention the proprietor's name. For the anti-establishment, contrarian rebels that have inundated the nether reaches of Brooklyn and upped property values (thank you very much), this is ingenious marketing. The High Life and a shot for 5 or 6 bucks is too good to pass up. read more

Happened to be walking down Havemeyer and the flashing lights of the pinball machines totally pulled me in. I'm a sucker for pinball. $6 for a miller high life and a shot. LET'S GO. This is a pretty standard beer/shot special but considering it was a Saturday night that's pretty awesome. A lot of places scrap that for the weekend crowds. Also, bonus points for having bottles of high life. We gotta be classy after-all, it is the champagne of beer. Generous shot size too. None of that tiny plastic shot glass frat party bull s***. Solid craft beer selection as well. Bartenders were very friendly. AND CONNECT FOUR (and other board games). Get drunk and play Connect Four guys, just do it. Will definitely be back. read more

Home away from home, this spacious well laid out pinball Mecca is made of magic really. An obscene number of pins for a bar in the New York area. Beer and shot specials are as cheap as its gonna get, even on ye olde quiet Havemeyer street in Brooklyn. The owner is a nice guy who looks after all the machines and the staff are all very chill humans. Extra bonus points for the record player and warm lightning. Bless them for being open. read more

Jackbar is my favorite bar in all of NYC. Partially this is because of their great selection of pinball games, but mostly this is because of the great owner, staff, and patrons. Everyone who works here and all the regulars are just great people to hang out with, I could come here every day. read more

A fun bar with a lot of Miller High Life being consumed! The night I was there, the music was an excellent selection of mid-to-late 90s hip hop that made for a really fun atmosphere. There are about ten pinball machines at Jackbar, which is why I sought out the place. There are a few hidden gems, including "Woah Nelly!" and "Revenge From Mars," one of two entries in the ill-fated Pinball 2000 series. I would recommend the place to anyone looking for a laid back spot to play pinball. read more

My favorite bar in Brooklyn... hell, Jackbar is my favorite bar, period. I was a regular for years, and, although I don't get back as often as I'd like, I will always love this spot. Awesome music, great vibe, cool bartenders, and always a fun crowd. Oh, yeah... and a great selection of pinball. Jon, the owner, is cool as hell -- loyal to his staff and customers alike. I went here with to meet up with my friends before going to a show on New Years Eve. We thought we were going to barhop but when we arrived here we were greeted by a fun bartender, great music and a relaxed atmosphere. We almost right away decided to stay put and grab drinks. The pinball machines were fun and we did play a little but what kept us there was the friendly bartender (I'm sorry I don't remember your name) and the great selection of beers and fun cocktails. read more

So I came into a pinball bar and half the pin ball games were out of order well not really maybe it was me that was out of place stance and skill I thought the games were broken but I was jus drunk didn't help that the bar kept serving me beer and shots luckly I made a friend at the bar and kept giving me quarters..anyhow I went to the rest room and I felt like I was in a episode of ghost writer trying to de-chypher the writings on the wall or maybe I was thinking of Pink Floyd and the movie wild style long story short it was great but I realized I'm not good at pinball and all my dirty clothes will never get washed from now on good grief read more

I like this bar a lot. The prices are good for the area and the vibe is relaxed and friendly. This a bar that I go to straight chill and have some drinks and a snack. Next time I'm in Williamsburg at night, I'll have to check out the place, since I only have gone their during the day. The game machines are less then $1 to play, and you can get a beer on tap and a shot for $10. read more

Jackbar is the new, improved version of the former Satellite Lounge. Pinball? Yep--a new lineup, more conveniently located in back. Beer and a shot for $5? Yup, still here! And the shot last time was Evan Williams, a solid bourbon choice. 16 (15?) great beers on tap (OK, maybe 14--think I saw Bud in the mix, but that's the exception!). I could drink the All Day IPA all day! The space has a much nicer, cozier, social atmosphere than the former Satellite. They even have tea candles at night. Music is always good, and the line-up of pinball machines is a great mix of older and newer games. Staff is friendly, crowd is mellow. Try the Jamaican Cola (coke and Appleton rum with a splash of bitters!). Good place for group celebrations too. read more

By far the friendliest bartenders I've encountered in Williamsburg. This is a very chill spot, with 8 or so pinball machines, a small outdoor patio in front for smokers and a few tables and some bar stools, much like a good bar would have. Only thing is I wish they had a happy hour, but maybe they do I'm not sure. I go here to have a drink and play pinball. Also the place is not full of douchebags. read more

Great bar and great people. Music is always on point and the bartenders make it feel like home. The pinball selection is great and the games are meticulously maintained. You don't have to be a pinball player to have a great time here though. The crowd is super friendly and if you sit at the bar you will make some new friends. read more

Admittedly I've found the music both times to be too experimental for me. Confessing that makes me feel like an old person shaking my fist or at least shaking my head, misunderstanding what makes the youth tick. But I had no trouble twirling around the dance floor to this weird experimental music after throwing back a few tequila sodas upstairs. A few times while here my friends have split up into the group that wants to go downstairs to dance and the group that wants to stay upstairs and chill. It's relatively easy to navigate between both vibes, which I enjoy about this spot very much.

He's truly talented and absolutely made us some awesome drinks that we can't stop talking about. Sunset with a view and a spicy mezcal drink? Yes and YES. Overall, the pricing felt excessive and the lack of transparency made the experience frustrating.

No barriers once you are upstairs and plenty of accessible outdoor and indoor/outdoor options, including a small length of wheelchair height bar. A perfectly functional though unexciting wheelchair accessible restroom is available.

Their pricing is also very fair for what you're getting. It's always nice to support local farms. They had a tough year already with the devastating crop damage from the freeze this past April.

if anti-semitic bar regulars are your thing, then you might like it here. i was in the bar with two other people and the bartender. the two guys who are both regulars started making jokes about the holocaust and jews IN WILLIAMSBURG NEW YORK CITY. I introduce myself to one and say, 'hi, im jewish'. it was a horrible encounter.i told the bar owner about the situation who gave me lip service by saying he 'he takes this very seriously'. i requested the patrons be banned. upon seeing the bar owner again, first: he tells me he doesn't want to discuss the situation with me, then he tells me what he did is none of my business. Not only was I called a bitch by his patrons for calling out their jew-hating vibes, but the owner then tries to lecture me on my 'sins'. He became biligerant and aggressive just as his patron was. I will never set place in this establishment again despite being a pinball regular in NYC. The owner may feel his decision was none of my business but other friends confirmed that at least one of the patrons still returns daily and offends people on the regular. If you want good vibes, this is not your place. And as read below: perhaps the bar doesn't allow 'glassholes' but they certainly allow 'assholes'. To top it off, the owner who did nothing and 'took it very seriously' is also jewish. Go get drunk somewhere fun! read more

I had an absolute blast at this bar. The atmosphere was lively and fun, with a great crowd of people who were all there to have a good time. The drinks were basic and affordable, they were still tasty and served quickly by the friendly and attentive bartenders. It was clear that the focus of this place was on having a good time, and they definitely succeeded in that regard. The real highlight of the place, though, was the pinball machines. There were so many to choose from, ranging from classic favorites to newer games that I had never seen before. I loved being able to play as much as I wanted without feeling rushed or pressured. Overall, I would highly recommend this pinball bar to anyone looking for a fun night out.
