If you're trying to reserve a private event here, don't. 1) They only had one bartender for a 25-person reservation while keeping the public area open. Okay, maybe someone called out, whatever. 2) There was no signage or anything to prevent people from barging into our back room. 3) The bartender wasn't able to keep track of our party's tab at all with the Venmo/cash-only policy and kept saying we were coming up short on our minimum. They kept contradicting themself and were completely inconsistent with how much drinks were. I have been coming here for about two years now and as long as I live in New York (aka forever), I don't see myself not coming, especially for league night (and if you're not in the league, what are you even doing?). There's cheap and great drinks, a nice mix of tunes (depending on the bartender it'll be rap/hip hop or indie/rock), beyond lovely bartenders, and the patrons are pretty friendly to be honest. I've been to many bars where I feel a little left out (a petite black female in a sea of white people) but FCB really does strive to be friendly and open to everyone no matter what sexuality, race, gender, etc. TLDR: if you're nice to FCB, FCB will be nice to you. read more

I came here the other night for a night cap after my friends Birthday party. While ordering a drink my friend raised her hand and finger, it was subtle but she was just trying to get the bartenders attention. She is incredibly soft spoken, and was literally just trying the slip a drink order into my order. The bartender flipped out on her. Literally flipped out to the point of awkwardness. Tucked away on a random street in Williamsburg, this place keeps it happening with skeeball machines as old as time. It's a dollar per play, which sounds pricey but we were willing to shell out since beers were so insanely cheap. This is a great date spot. The skee ball is cheap, as are the beers (by Williamsburg standards at least), and the chalkboard walls are full of cryptic scrawlings from other patrons you can try to decipher. You can let your date win (or pretend you did to save face) and then sit on the bank and people watch. It's interesting to speculate about the other people there on dates too. They have leagues if you're serious about skee ball or just live in the area and want an excuse to go hang out at a bar besides drinking. Note that the place is pretty small and there are only 3 lanes total, so you may have to wait and this isn't a good spot to bring big groups. Definitely no office mixers here, it's very much a tiny hole-in-the-wall dive bar. The beer selection is good and they have hard cider for the gluten-free. read more

Full Circle Bar caters to the Skee Ball community. Yes, they have a dedicated community. Who knew? Damn son, they even have competitive leagues here, trophies, memorabilia case, and a newsletter! Four gloriously pristine Skee Ball lanes. Don't eff with these ballers as they are serious about their sport! Pretty good Billyburg hipster beer selection with a few surprises in cans. Walk in, look over the list on the wall with the cans pinned on it, and pick your brew. Genesee Cream Ale/Lager/Light, Young's Chocolate Stout, PBR, Newcastle, Brooklyn, Butternuts, Sixpoint, Bud, Bud Light, Yuengling and a bunch more. Prices are on the really cheap side with many cans in the $3-$5 range! Beer and shot specials every day along with a happy hour that also includes jumbo pretzels and hot dogs. Trivia night too. A few beers on tap like Stella, Guinness, Blue Point, Goose Island, etc. Really easy to catch a good buzz on the cheap here while enjoying a few rounds of fun Skee Ball action. The place itself is low-key, dimly lit, with a divey atmosphere which I love. Rock music on the speakers. Everyone here seemed very chill and friendly. Two skinny little hipster dudes started duking it out and one was on a motorcycle wearing a helmet. So you have these two guys whaling on each other and the one guy keeps punching the other on the helmet. One was even smoking a cigarette that never fell out of his mouth. He started whining and screaming at the other guy like a little girl, jumped on his bike, made a few vroom vroom sounds for effect and then sped off. Good stuff! Let me start by saying that I really really like this dive-y bar. I don't generally love dive bars, but this is one of my local watering holes and just a great go-to even though it's by far not the closest bar to me. They have good beers, and I love that they have vats of hot apple cider (which they will spike for you upon request), and hot toddies at the ready, which make it SO appealing for a wintery day. But if you're going to tout yourself as a skeeball bar, then there should be sufficient skeeball. And here, there just aint that. This past week, 1 of the machines was completely down...another one was not scoring accurately, a 3rd had zero lights so you couldnt' see what you were doing, and the 4th (in the front) doesn't allow full range of motion to really get your skeeball on. Also, we couldn't even really get the lights on in the back room. So....it was kinda cozy.....but also a tad creepy. Pretty disappointing. C'mon, guys!! read more

Did some contact tracing and I'm now 100% positive my boyfriend and I caught Covid at this place, on top of that some of the regulars are POS. A regular thought it was totally appropriate to bang on one of the bathroom doors while I was using it. I approached her and she owned up to it, saying "I waited 10 minutes." (She waited 3/4 minutes at best) and when I told her that's impossible she fired back with "I'm a regular". This made my blood boil because what about being a regular at a dive bar means you don't have common decency?? So, I waited until she was likely mid stream and I returned the favor of banging on the door. A man approached me and yelled "hey don't do that!". So I not so calmly explained that she just did the same thing without intervention. This bar is lacking in a bartender who can make a drink, bartender refused to remake a sour tasting drink after I asked. Instead of listening to the paying customer he opted to splash it with more ginger beer. My boyfriend (who is a big man) had to ask for them to be remade and interestingly enough it was no problem. There is no circulation/ventilation in this bar and a group of regulars we're coughing in the back of it. We should've left the moment we heard that cough. Will not be going back. read more

Skee-ball for days at this Williamsburg watering hole. Full Circle Bar has a certain allure to it. No, it's not the seldom-mopped floors or the less-than-desirable bathrooms. No, it's not the quintessentially-hipster drink menu. No, it's not that one chair that has a leg I'm quite certain is half an inch shorter than the other 3. It's the hardcore Skee-ball atmosphere you didn't know existed. There are four stations that are sometimes used for a national Skee-ball league (yes, that's a thing). There are beer+shot combos that are quite dangerous and grilled cheese pretzels that are nothing short of delicious. It's located equidistant from the Lorimer L, Metropolitan G, and Marcy Ave M/J/Z, so you can get there fairly easily from most parts of Manhattan. It's worth checking our for a number of reasons, some of which I listed above, and finds itself a place on my not-yet-created list of fun bars in Williamsburg. read more

This is the bar I dreamed about when I first moved to NYC six years ago. Nay, the bar I fantasized about 7 years ago, before I even moved to this city. It has been a year since I was lucky enough to find Full Circle Bar (FCB), and I can't seem to stay away. I bring all of my out of town guests here, and all of my good friends have been on a skee for free night (Tuesdays and Thursdays). I'm now a proud member of the skeeball league, and FCB will have a hard time getting rid of me. The community at Full Circle is awesome, the beer/drinks are delicious and pocket-friendly, and the skeeball is addictive! Four years ago, the owners of this bar started a Skee Ball league (Brewskeeball.com) at Ace Bar (5th between Aves. A and B). They have now opened their own bar just a few blocks off the Bedford stop on L train and it succeeds, not only as the Mecca of Skee ball, but as a very chill, inexpensive bar to hang out with friends. They have tons of canned beer (including Genese Cream Ale, Strongbow, High Life) that you won't find at many other places. The bar itself is brand new and the bartender's were very friendly (even started to get a couple beers for free). They have two big screen TVs going at all times and some nice lounge seating in the front. But the real draw of this bar is Skee Ball. They have a lane in the front for any to play, but as you move to the back of the bar, up a small flight of stairs you see something you have to experience to really believe. You walk through a hallway with bar stools and beer ledges with plenty of people hanging out. Along the wall are Brew Skee ball player cards!?!? Then at the end of the room, you see it, three skee ball lanes with stadium style seating. This is where league play takes places, but as long as its not a Sunday, Monday or Wednesday (league nights), any group of friends can have a blast there. All in all, I spent $30 at the Circle, played 15 games of skee ball and drank 7 beers. It brings me back to my childhood at the Jersey shore and puts a great grown-up twist on an awesome game. When you hear Skee-Ball bar in Williamsburg, you kind of can't help but be a little skeptical. I certainly was. I mean, sure, it'd be fun once, but how much skee ball can I play? And would there even be room to hang out with all the people crowded around the machines? And could I really deal with all the fanatics that were sure to turn out? These are the things I think about. Well, it turns out my concerns were entirely misguided. Neither an arcade nor a dive, Full Circle is actually a stylish, accessible and welcoming bar. It's front room is a borderline lounge with several touches that make it one of the more unique spaces you'll find in any borough. With just one skee-ball machine along the exposed brick wall opposite the bar, the focus here is drinking and hanging out. The walk-in and beer cages bring drinking to the fore and the six taps and collection of quality, often micro-brewed cans show that the owners know a few things about imbibing. So if skee-ball's not your thing, this is still an excellent place to hang out, listen to great music and throw back a few cream stouts. Now, if skee-ball is your thing, this may be your heaven. Accents along the bar and bathrooms provide only a hint of what's in store. The closed-circuit TV above the bar provides much more of a glimpse. The back room features three side-by-side skee-ball machines and tiered, stadium seating to watch the action. If you've ever enjoyed the PBA on Wide World of Sports, you know what it is like to have an arena dedicated to rolling. This room is dedicated to Brew-Skee-Ball and will make all of its participants quite proud. So, skee-ball or no, we're talking about a high quality bar just a few minutes walk from the Lorimer L/G stop. I'm a skeptic no more, I've already been a few times and I plan to trek down from the Upper West Side often. It's well worth the journey. read more

I definitely have had my fair share of evenings here at full circle since it opened up. The 9p Happy Hour makes it the go to spot when my friends and I want some booze and don't feel like rushing to the bar early, and the hot dogs usually keep us there for a while. The bartenders are extremely cool, and half the time, the person serving you your drink is one of the owners. The bartenders (or the two I've met) are both good guys, the beer (2 for 5 Genny) is cheap and the draft system is good. All around a great place disregarding the ski ball. I wasn't quite sure what to expect on my safari into what appears to be the epicenter of East-coast hipster territory. Coming from San Francisco, and noticing that Williamsburg represents a level of hipster even greater than the Mission, I feared that I would be entering a den of irony soaked in PBR. Full Circle was super chill. There was not one sighting of never-nude shorts on a very skinny guy. There is no ironic beer here... it's all good, even though it's mostly in cans. It's clear that a great deal of care goes into the operation of this establishment -- look at the happy patrons, look at the interesting happy hour specials, look at the skee ball league.
