A man and a woman are engaged in bowling at an indoor alley with six lanes. The man is in the foreground, facing away from the camera, while the woman is in the background preparing to bowl. The alley features exposed brick walls, wooden lanes, and overhead lighting fixtures. The setting has an industrial style with visible pipes on the ceiling.

Between the bar and the bowling alley, I give it three stars. Bar is great, very chill. Good selection of beers and decent cocktails. I do wish there was hand sanitizer or wipes to allow us to consider wiping our tables after use or before! I get that staff can get busy tending to so many ppl. My friend went to the bathroom to grab paper towels with some water to wipe down. Bowling alley, is a cool concept and it is what it is. Not your latest bowling technology. No big screens for you to see your score. It's for a casual bowl. The scoring gets a little wacky because you can bowl a 7, and then it resets the entire thing, leaving no chance to spare. I also forgot where the reset button is located and the directions don't really tell you exactly where it is (by the machine that spits out the balls). Overall a good night but prepare for a long wait if you're here to bowl.

Actually this is not the first time I came to bowling at Gutter bar. This time my best friend just want to chill out so I go with her. On Sunday night it wasn't packed, there were 4 groups ahead of us but we didn't wait too long. It was so fun to come with friend no one care the score you get just having a good time. Bartender and another staff are super casual. The early shift was good but the night shift are kind of lazy and boring. That was one of the reason we left because after changing the shift, we feel the service was not good.

The definition of a dive bar. Came in here as a pit stop before going to an exhibition nearby. Got the Christmas Ale which was a pretty good IPA. Very spacious inside. Apparently they do private events because during my tome there I saw signs that said they'd be closing at 8 for a party. The restroom area is an open space with stalls. I didn't explore much else while I was here besides the bar area.

Came here for Halloween celebrations where there was a sizeable lineup of cover bands, rotating on the different stages. This is one of those places that can only exist in this part of the world. Anywhere else, doesn't make that much sense. A mix of your grandparents basement and a small, no frills bowling alley and a communal bathroom area, it's definitely a hodgepodge. I liked that there was no exorbitant cover (no cover at all, actually) and once you learned the layout of the place it was a breeze to find the friends you somewhere lost along the way. When we first got to the place we put our names down for bowling and around 11:30/12am our number got called. The bowling is cash only, so plan accordingly. The lanes themselves are intentionally outdated and the machines have their quirks, we had problems with it repeating terms out of order. Must have been a ghost in the machine on the hallowed night.

Social distancing rules

I had a really good time hanging out at The Gutter. My mom, her husband and I decided to check out a bowling alley since the Governor approved them for opening. We called ahead and they didn't require reservations but we didn't check to see if we could bring kids--my mom's step-grandson came with us but once we got there, we were told that kids are not allow (they have a liquor license). Since we were there, my mom and I went (my mom's husband dropped off his grandson and came back to bowl). They really enforce social distancing and I think they're doing a great job. They had an employee explain the changes. First, they give you a glove to wear when testing the heft of the ball--once you find the ball that works best for you, you can discard the glove; second, they normally have 8 lanes but reduced it to 4; third, they have hand sanitizer at each station and lastly, once you're finish, you leave the bowling shoes and ball at the station and you exit through the fire door. It goes without saying that we all had to wear our mask. I had a good time and they have outdoor dining as well. The staff was pleasant and very helpful--if you're looking to do something other than watch Netflix, you can try bowling at The Gutter.

There's usually a fun and hot crowd at this bowling alley. I love that they are open till 4 am most nights. They also will let you doordash food whenever they are no longer serving food.

The image shows a dimly lit bar with a dark counter and several metal stools lined up in front. Hanging vintage-style lamps provide ambient lighting, and the back bar is stocked with bottles and glassware. The overall atmosphere appears cozy and retro, with various signs and decorations on the walls.

Ambiance was great. Old school dive bar feeling. Only downside was the wait time and limited time you could bowl.

Some of the lanes have mechanical issues but it's still fun and you can't beat the old school alley vibes.

The bartenders are what make this place special. The bowling is cool too. Will definitely be back.

Found a gem in Sunnyside…read more Needed a place to go for the 4th of July, had no plans or friends with a BBQ. Looked this place up, saw on Facebook that they were organizing their own backyard BBQ for anyone in the area. Went there, expecting to pay something for the food - nope. They didn't want a dime. Just cooking hotdogs, burgers, drumsticks for the community out of the sheer goodness of their hearts. Despite never setting foot in here before, the owners (Jason and Allison) welcomed us like we were regulars, got us an excellent pint of Guinness and at least 3 more drinks (for $30, tip included - damned good deal in NYC). Sent us on our merry way to the back yard, where we had a table to ourselves and were served some deliciously seasoned drumsticks and other meats for free. Chatted with Jason, who has been through some insanely rough times yet still works his tail off for his customers. Got a perfectly poured Guinness to wash down all the Barbecue with, brought to our table by Allison. Easily the best bar experience I've had in Queens, will have to come back. Cash only establishment but (a) prices are excellent and (b) they have an ATM if you need. Stop by if you're in the area!
