Absolutely LOVEEEE this place. The arcade games are all so creative and so fun to get lost in. Especially the fact that they're FREE!!!! So it really pulls you into this sort of portal where you're fully locked in on games and then you look up and its been 3 hours, love it. Drinks are fine but they are a great price. Got the Waaaluigi which was really tasty and pretty unique! The wonder punch was a classic tropical rum drink and good but was a little watery. Game night!!!! If you're looking a place to hang out with retro/indie games and have drink with the gang, this is the place for you. This place is pretty sweet as you enter and feel the inner child/nerd come out. It's great place to bring the boys out to hang out, a place decent date night with your partner and for anybody in general. The employees were nice to introduce me to their specialty drinks and other items. I ended up getting the Appletini which had a somewhat sweet yet sour taste. Pretty good 7/10. I do recommend playing the weather simulator game since it has a bunch of options to play solo and coop. Then there's the box bird game that pins two players to collect as much points as you can. Pretty simple. I did enjoy this fighting game that doesn't require much knowledge. It has your simple lows and heavys and an auto combo. Pork was a great character to play with. What a fun place! All of the arcade games are free, you can eat hot dogs, drink and listen to the DJ or show happening. There's also a back patio if you get over stimulated and need a smoke break. This place was so cool! I'm used to arcades like this having a super nerdy theme -- which I saw a lot of. But it was that nerd vibe combined with grunge which I wasn't expecting! There's plenty to do -- there's a bar, a back patio area, and plenty of unfamiliar (to me) games to play. There's a big separate room with plenty of cabinets, but they were also somewhat scattered about. The cabinet room also had a stage where a DJ was setting up, and I hear bands play there too. Some of the games I played included Hair Nah, Dye Breaker, KungFu Kickball and Armed & Gelatinous -- my sister kicked my butt BAD in that last one. Hair Nah is definitely making a statement, and with the motion controls, it might be triggering for some, but it's SO educational. Dye Breaker & KungFu Kickball were my favorites, and the latter is apparently on Switch. The bar is also fully stocked -- and if you aren't drinking, there's a self-serve water station at the end of it. I really enjoyed myself at this arcade bar, and I was SHOCKED that all the games are free. With places like that there's usually at least a cover. Amazing that these indie developers all get exposure through this awesome venue. I'm eager to return some time! read more

Alberto asked me to come here as it has a music stage and there is live music frequently, there are also Arcade games to play. Alberto makes the best drinks to accommodate all likes. I enjoyed the Super Shirley 64 so much, that I shared the pic and info. with my close ones right away, is a must do. Soft drink and left me wanting to go back for more. This place was absolutely awesome. When we arrived, the games were all free- and they were insanely fun and beautiful! There are a ton of games to choose from and we pretty much could play any without having to wait. A lot of multiplayer too which is fun with friends. Eventually there was a live coding show where someone was changing the lighting and other properties of the projected screen on stage.so cool! Eventually there was live music that you had to pay for, and my group was heading out soon so we decided not to attend. They had everyone leave the gaming area and chill by the bar who was not paying for a ticket to the show- I think the tickets were 10$ and if I had the time I would've totally stayed. There were also some games in the bar area that were fun. The place itself is sick, the people are kind and welcoming, and the drinks were fun. Will 100% go back if I'm in the area- in fact, I would make the hour commute just for this place. read more

I went here on a Tuesday for date night. There was no one there at 7pm LOL. It didn't get poppin until 8ish but this place is an absolute GEM. The variety of arcade games was a gamers paradise. I'd recommend getting a drink during happy hour then heading to the arcade to play some games. You didn't even need coins all the games were free! (Be sure to donate via Venmo.) The best one is the keyboard typing game. Forgot the name of it but at the end you can take a photo. Super cute. They do different events each day so make sure you pick a day they have something fun. Tuesday was Drag Show and it was incredible. Comedy, dancing, singing performances. I'd recommend bringing cash so you can tip the performers. Overall, had a blast. They had live music (lots of bass and beats that day), a full bar, and an outdoor patio area. 21 and only crowd so everyone was friendly and respectful. Arcades feel like relics of an old era, with the heyday of the city's arcade culture long gone and Barcade as one of the few places you can go to play Donkey Kong while downing a few beers. As much as I enjoy a night at Barcade, I was so excited to hear about Wonderville, which features independently made arcade games. While you won't find pac man here, many of the same game tropes and mechanisms that gamers are familiar with will be on display here with these games, often with fun twists. Many of the game creators featured are women and people of color, which brings a different kind of lens and storytelling to this traditionally white male dominated field, which I found so refreshing. One of the most memorable games I played was called "Hair Nah" by Momo Pixel and is about a Black woman tired of people touching her hair-- you face a motion sensing camera and swat people's hands away to protect the main character from getting her hair touched. Games like this that are part social commentary and comedic relief were so awesome to partake in. Considering they feature only indie games, I was impressed that they had over 20 of them to play with. You probably won't like all of them so it may not be enough for someone looking for a more robust arcade, but they don't charge you to play any of the games and the people who are playing are super into the games, which is an entertaining spectacle in and of itself. The room where the games are is also a music venue, and there was a band playing really loud emo covers while I was there. It really wasn't my music scene, and I found the acoustic pretty jarring. As people crowded around the stage to watch the live music, there was little room to stand near half the games in the room. I don't think the dual music venue/gaming room really worked, but I also get that space is limited in Brooklyn and I'm not sure how much revenue an indie arcade bar is generating on any given week. Consider this is a soft complaint. Drinks are really inexpensive, with $6 shot+beer combos during their generous 5pm-9pm happy hours, beers as low as $4, and cocktails at $10. Something about this place feels like old Brooklyn preserved and I hope they don't go the way of so many other arcades in NY. read more

I was here for an Event this past weekend and I was very impressed from the moment that I arrived. The place for starters has amazing vibes.. A room full of free video games and a crowd that was excited to play them.. When the event started with the music and the night party crowd everyone meshed perfectly and the bar and event crowd all enjoyed the many DJs spinning that night.. This place has an awesome staff and the venue has 2 big rooms plus a very nice backyard.. The place got extremely crowded but the talented bartenders handled it with ease. Being at this bar with my not-very-tasty-too-sour-and-not-cold-enough beer and the weird lights and the not-my-style-music accompanied by a poor-social-skills-having-rude-elderly-adjacent-looking-but-only-30-something-years-old man I was sitting next to who was trying to talk my head off while ogling every breathing being nearby left me with no choice. I came here for a show last week but this bar is really a hidden gem. Never heard anything about it but I'm also rarely in Bushwick. The entire place is a hipster arcade geek's paradise. They have a room filled with games that aren't exactly mass market games per se. A lot of them seem like rare Japanese made arcade games. But a very interesting selection. They have I think the only 9 player simulated adventure game. I didn't really check that one out but it seemed like some kind of hive bee game (Killer Queen). I was enamored with Black Emperor, Armed and Gelatinous, Powerboat Italia, and some Kung Fu game where I was a giant fat panda. The typing game was more a rhythmic than speed challenge to my dismay. But all of the games are completely FREE. You read that right. No quarters. Just free. There's really no catch. Happy Hour goes on until 9pm and it's a dollar off drafts/wells, $8 frozen margs, and then beer and shot combos. They have an interesting craft can selection. The one downside to it is everything seemed somewhat accurately priced minus all the KCBC beers. They have them priced at a whopping $13 and I've never seen that at any bar or even fancy bar for the matter. The most I've probably ever seen them sold for is maybe $10 and it was a fancy-ish place. They also sell $6 plain hotdogs which seems excessive. A regular hotdog heated up in a hotdog heater. Like solid deals but then ridiculous price hikes on random choices. All in all, this spot is so random and off the walls kooky and worth checking out. Enjoy the happy hour, get some cans of estrella, play a million games for free. Definitely check out the maze game on the wall. I dare you to crush 7 seconds. Eat somewhere else. Make sure you check out the center bathroom. read more

This place is so cool and never would I end up here of my own volition. I'm not saying this to judge Wonderville negatively, I've just only been to Bushwick twice in my life and I haven't been to a barcade in at least five years. But Wonderville is no ordinary barcade. It's a bar, music venue (sort of) and *indie* arcade all wrapped into one delightfully unique package. Even though I probably stuck out like a sore thumb, I really enjoyed my time here. Came here with a group to watch a friend perform. Wonderville is overall teeny tiny. The bar area isn't too big and the music venue and arcade areas are actually the same thing. But that's part of its charm. Chaotic but also sort of organized. Yes, they check your vaccine cards at the door and yes, there is a small cover to enter the arcade/performance space (at least when there's a show). The slightly annoying thing is that you'll need to exit through the door each time you want to grab another drink while you're watching the show, but the folks are quick behind the bar. The performer we were seeing happened to be playing psychedelic ambient stuff so it wasn't the end of the world if we missed a few minutes (even still, he was phenomenal, and I didn't know he had it in him). The performance space doubles as the arcade, which makes for a fun, immersive experience. Unlike most arcades, the games here are free! Nothing I had ever seen before, and some of the game premises were pretty hysterical. The crowd favorite was Hair Nah, which is actually a hands-free game that is played through motion sensors. read more

Really enjoyed Visiting here late last Friday night while exploring bushwick. At the door, they required proof of vaccination to enter. The arcade games were free and more unique than most other barcades I've been to. They have a dance area with a DJ in the game room that adds a lot to the vibe. Back patio is open until 1am. Drinks are fairly priced with cheapest beer around $4 and cocktails at $10. Definitely plan to visit again. read more

This place is a lot of fun if you are looking for a different experience, they have a bar area and then they have almost like a kind of rave room with video games so they have a DJ they have a projector playing some stuff on the background of the DJ and then they have a bunch of video games that are for free I've been here twice. The first time I came. I guess they had a really popular DJ and you have to pay to get in that room but the second time that I went you didn't have to pay and you're able to get rated. It also seemed like a slower night. The games are a lot of fun and it's honestly a great idea to go on a first date it's kind of break the ice and have a little change of scenery. I wish they had more food options so that you could stay longer. They only serve hotdog and chips and what not little snacks so if you get hungry after your drinks, you'll have to go somewhere else. I also wish the service was a little bit better since there's so many people in this area you know Reeve and by the bar, the bartenders were a little bit slow with taking the drink orders so I wish they were a little bit more on top of the people trying to get drinks at the bar but besides that I feel like this is a fun place to go to if you're looking for a different experience. read more

I love this place! Wonderville is an indie arcade bar serving fun cocktails and artisan hot dogs. You won't find Pac-Man or Tetris here -- it's strictly indie, which means you'll play one-of-a-kind games that may not exist anywhere else. Bartenders are always awesome serving up a variety of beverages that will make everyone happy. Check out the back deck for ample seating and wicked sunsets. I love coming here for a fun night out in BedStuy! The vibes are great! Love a good barcade, but especially one where the games are free! The games are also interesting and different since I think theyre made by indie developers. They sometimes switch them up which is fun for a frequent visitor like myself. I like how there are games inside and outside since sometimes there's a cover for an event inside like Ambient noise night or battle of the bands. They also offer board games which can be fun for summer nights to take outside. The bar is aite, they have hot dogs. I think what's so great about this place is that the games are meant to be played for fun. Since theyre all free, there's less pressure to do well to win a prize, or to do well to earn the money you paid for the game. It can get competitive against friends or even just against your previous score depending on how many players there were. This place is incredible! Why go to barcarde? This is so much cooler and the crowd who attends are super-friendly. The Killer Queen bee game in particular, which I'd never played before, allows a bunch of strangers and friends to all play together, and it's this really cool thing with experienced players teaching newbies and I've never teamed up so quickly with total strangers in an hour before. Really amazing space, they have about 20 new, made-in-NY indie arcade games - including Killer Queen! And all the games are FREE to play but I'm not sure how long that will last since they just opened. It has a very different vibe from Barcade which is the closest comparable thing I guess? If you want to play Pac-Man or Turtles in Time you won't find those here. This is much more of an artsy, indie, DIY, community-run space. Everyone that runs the place is super friendly and welcoming. They run a variety of events including weekly tournaments and live music. There's also a great outdoor yard in the back if you want to take a break from playing the games. read more
