Grilled Salmon

Excellent cuisine and top-notch service can be expected at both of our establishments in Troy and Livonia. A highly recommended destination for a delightful family dining experience.

I went here thinking it would be a high end dining experience. The only thing high end was the prices. The place was so loud it was hard to have a conversation. The crowd was another story. I would have thought that I was at a fast food location based on tank tops, short shorts, ball caps, etc. Service was mediocre at best. Although the steaks were perfectly cooked I thought the Mac and cheese was disgusting but our server never returned to the table for me to say anything until she brought the bill. $47 for NY Strip, even perfectly cooked doesn't justify that price. $41 for Prime Rib is still high. I will not return.

I got the cheeseburger and fries. I added one more Patty for an additional $7 so it was almost a $30 meal. I was expecting a very good burger and it was average at best. There was not much taste to the patties and it was quite dense which is a good thing but not when it was dry like that. The fries were not crispy, were shoe string style. There was nothing fancy about the bun. It was a very ordinary burger that did not impress me. The ambiance when I went in was quite dark with low lighting. I can't speak to the service as I just had a pick up order.

Always delicious food! We love it here! Great service. Good ambiance! We love J. Alexander's.

I hate to say it I really do but J. Alexander's is underwhelming. We went a few days before Christmas. I was excited to have a nice meal after shopping. We had an okay meal. Everything was okay. If I were honest my money would be better spent at a good hole in the wall taco joint.

Calamari

We started the night with the Calamari which was breaded with herbs and tasted delicious! The potatoes were so flavorful and the sauce on the side complimented the chicken very nicely. Our server Josh was amazing. He was so funny and charming, would 100% come back again!!

Don't forget the artichokes! We stopped in for a lunch post pedicures at Nordstrom spa and it was exactly what we wanted. My mother, sister and I shared the wood fired artichokes as an app, always delicious especially with the aioli. For lunch, we all got the steak sandwich on special, absolutely the right move. Love their shoestring fries as well. Finally we split the carrot cake for dessert. Never forget the carrot cake.

Saturday feb 10, 2024 my ladies and I celebrated galentines day. We loved it here. The lemon drops were amazing and strong per usual. The food was everything! The service was even better. Our waitress was such a sweetheart!

Waitress asked if I had any allergies, I said no but my friend joining me soon was gluten free. My friend still had to specifically request the gluten free menu when she got there, after looking at the regular menu & not finding any markings of what food was gluten free. It would have been nice if the waitress had just brought it right away. I had the lunch size Gnocchi Carbonara, which was delicious! I did have the suggested wine pairing, which was very good with my food. And what a great idea to offer some lunch sized portions of some of the dishes (ends at 3pm). My friend had the gluten free grilled mahi mahi sandwich & side of Asian slaw, which she enjoyed. They weren't super busy & we sat quite awhile to chat. Really enjoyed it & will definitely go back. Looking forward to trying some of the other menu items!

But I found it odd that the bar didn't have any chairs. Our server (I think his name was Darren, or something like that?) was very good. He explained about the bin numbers next to the entree descriptions and was just generally kind and helpful. Several people ordered salads, and they looked very good. I had the Parmesan crusted chicken from their Life Balance section. I enjoyed it very much. I don't usually like warm tomatoes, but the ones in this dish were really good. Honestly, I'm surprised that this was a lower calorie dish, as it certainly was plentiful, filling and satisfying.

From Hostess Kierra, to Christian G & Amanda who teamed up together; we were offered a perfect experience. Kierra decorated a quiet table, away from drafts (as requested) before seating us. Christian delighted us with the day's special culinary options. Amanda teased with wishes to be made. It was gentle and fun for my buddy. The house-made Grapefruit soda was declared "wonderful" by my companion who indulged in their signature Butternut Squash Bisque. He marveled at the delicately chopped apple in the middle. Delightful. Lobster Salad came out fresh and so beautifully plated. Large lobster pieces too! I thoroughly enjoyed Mini-Tenderloin Sliders along with a side of perfectly steamed broccoli. I regretted I could not order from their diverse wine menu this time. A red would have been the perfect accompaniment. We ordered two impeccably made, decaf Espresso coffees for dessert, but then... Amanda appeared with an unexpected, delicious, diet-busting celebratory treat. Thank you Capital Grille!

It's marketed as a high end restaurant where you HAVE to dress up, but it's on the "poor side" of the somerset mall... (iykyk). The free bread was just okay. The drinks were amazing - def recommend the black tie margarita! Both of our steaks were prepared one step down from what we asked for - hence the lower review. If you're this expensive and known for your steaks, you should at least know the difference between medium and rare. The french fries were decent but a little too greasy. The brussels sprouts were okay. Overall, I wouldn't necessarily *choose* to come back here, but if someone else in my party really wanted to, I wouldn't be opposed.

It has occurred to me now that after three visits to this location in under 365 days that I need to…read moreadd Ruth's Chris to my Yelp collection. Rarely does a restaurant give me the complete urge to want to return soon. Even more rare the urge to bring someone close along with me as a testament to my opinion in the experience. Yelp gets it right when it auto-lists food, service; and ambiance as the three pillars of the dining experience. If one falters the whole thing is off. I have visited Ruth's Chris three times in 2025 with three equal and impressive experiences in the three pillars. Ambiance. This location is a classic steakhouse dining experience. Upscale feeling without exclusion. Lighting just enough to keep you, your party, and your food in focus. Music in the background but just enough to provide energy without ever forcing its way into your face. Comfortable and consistent seating areas that provide a pleasant aesthetic experience. Service. Professionally dressed, attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable servicing staff. No more needs to be said. Food. Each time I have had the filet and each time it has been absolutely perfect. At this point I think I've had ever appetizer. Caesar salad. Multiple desserts. The food is consistent and exceeds the expectations based on the cost. Every time. I reserved two seats in January for a date night for my wife and I. I don't do the reserving for my wife unless I can absolutely count on a great night out. This is it.

We have been consistently thrilled with both the service and the experience every single time. We always request Amy D., and without fail, she has taken exceptional care of us throughout all these years. I am genuinely puzzled as to why this location's rating is below a four-star average. Unfortunately, it appears that most--if not all--of the negative reviews stem from self-entitled, rude, and disrespectful customers. I say this with confidence, as I travel extensively for work and have witnessed firsthand the alarming level of disrespect many customers show toward those in the food-service industry. Ruth's Chris delivers first-class service, exceptional food, and an outstanding overall dining experience. Yes, there is a dress code--as there should be--though I've even noticed that it is not strictly enforced. To anyone complaining about this in their reviews: you have either never worked in food service or fail to understand that many establishments still operate under the outdated notion that "the customer is always right." As someone who does not work in the food-service industry, I can unapologetically say that many customers are, in fact, not "right"--but instead out of touch, discourteous, and lacking basic respect. Ruth's Chris Steakhouse is absolutely worth the opportunity to enjoy one of the best steaks--and dining experiences--you will find anywhere. And one final reminder: tip your server well--they work hard, stay professional, and somehow manage grace while dealing with far more rudeness than anyone earning a living wage ever should.

I've seen a lot of people order a bunch of dishes, I'm not sure how anyone can eat an app, a salad, a main and a side, but more power to them. The steaks are top-notch and cooked and seasoned perfectly. I've also had seafood, it's amazing. There's a huge salad bar with fruits and even some soup options in the middle: it's ginormous and there's a lot of options!!!! A LOT! The steaks and meats served in the churrasco experience are always tasty. They serve them done differently, so you can always ask for well done, medium, rare, medium rare, and so on. There's also lamb and chicken and the more deluxe experience includes bone marrow and other stuff. If you're feeling stuffed (which good for you for getting your money's worth!) they offer pineapple (as well as glazed pineapple) which had an enzyme that actually helps you feel less stuffed. I loved their picanha which they describe as their house special and the garlic steak! This place is considered expensive, at $49 for the 'full' churrasco experience and $69 for the more premium one. You do have to flag someone down if you feel like you want another cut of steak as sometimes, the same ones keep making their way back to you when you know exactly what you want.
