Got a beef schwarma sandwich. It was $7.xx. idk why I had the expectation it would be bigger than it was, but I should have known better. It was small. Toppings were not that many. Meat was tender mostly with some inedible parts. I got tahini on the side which was a good choice and did not make the sandwich overpowered with sauce. I've been here 3.5 years and never had anyone mention this little gem... and I love Mediterranean-type foods! What a find! I was between appts. and needed something healthy and that just what I got! The falafel was fabulous, and the taboulleh was terrific! I don't do gluten, so I passed on the pita. But look how nice my to-go lunch was prepared! Sol (AKA#OutOfLuck), the owner, was a hoot! The store is super clean, bright and has some very interesting paintings on the wall by, presumably, a local artist. I'm going back to check out the Lebanese drinks in the case as you walk in. Absolutely delicious, I picked up a lunch combo while I was in town on business and it was delicious! Hot or not? Lunch combo: 10/10 bites I got Beef it is juicy & tasty. Includes rice: 10/10 bites, the beef has grilled veggies mine had carrot and onion and wow grilled carrot is so yummy! Garlic bread: 10/10 absolutely delicious puffs. This hollow treat is so good I wanted to save some but ate it all! Salad: house salad is good. You can also opt for soup!?! All quality for such a good price. Went there for the first time and ordered the Sampler family meal. We were not impressed with the taste and amount of food for the price. The chicken shawarma were chucks of meet and the beef shawarma was tasteless. The side dishes were in small containers, enough for 1 person. The salad had very little dressing. It's down pouring. Decided to go somewhere not too far from us. We ordered a large fattoush salad with no pita, a chicken kafta, chicken gallaba over an upgraded large hummus, spicy and lentil soup and orange and carrot juice and an energy booster. The pita pockets were out to our table after our order was in, no garlic sauce yet. The pita pockets are soft and billowy, quite nice. The hummus is good, as is the garlic sauce. The lentil soup is quite watery, it's so-so. The Fattoush salad was covered with pita chips, ugh. I forgot to ask less pita or did? So time consuming to pick out the bulk abs of course they are in a hundred pieces too. I did get 3 salad butts in my salad. :/ They made our orange and carrot and energy booster juice and gave the extra to the ladies at the other table. Shouldn't we have been asked for the extra since we paid for the juices to be made? The juices were both decent. I got a small garlic butter with my kafta, shouldn't he have told me my meal comes with garlic butter instead of charging me for a large garlic butter in addition to the free side of garlic then? :// They charged us $2 for the side of garlic sauce. I didn't even touch the side that came with my chicken kafta. The chicken kafta tasted good, fell apart while trying to eat it though. The chicken gallaba had good flavor, spicy and creamy too. The chicken gallaba was an extra $1 more than on the menu, where it was $18.49. There was a $2.50 upgrade for the larger hummus too. $1 for any change of an entree. We did mention that the upgraded cost for the larger hummus was fine, it would have been nice if he had told me when I ordered it is all. We wanted to try a different place for middle eastern food, other reviews were pretty good so we decided to give them a try. They currently do only pickup and delivery. No dine in. Staff was very nice when I went to pickup my order. They offer online ordering on their site so I encourage to use that instead of delivery app. We got a Sampler Combo for Two which had chicken and beef shawarma, spinach and meat pies, grape leaves vegetarian and with meat, falafel, fried kibbee, baba ghanouj, hummus and tabouli. I really like that they have a mixed option where both meat and vegetarian items are included. Many places offer combos with only meat so it's a no-no for vegan/vegetarian eaters. We also got a lentil soup and more garlic sauce. The combo comes with freshly baked bread and garlic sauce. Overall the food was pretty good, with some many items included it's a very enjoyable experience. The best tasting items: shawarma. Meat pie, falafel, kibbee, baba ghanouj, hummus, garlic sauce and tabouli. All were very tasty. The so-so items: spinach pie was a little too sour, grape leaves were a little hard (the leaf), lentil soup was good but watery and the bread was not as we are used to. A little sweet and dry. Like it was not a yeast dough. To be honest it was giving me a vibe of crescent rolls dough rolled thinly and baked. Not a big fan. The portion was big enough for us to have 2 meals. We are passing through Detroit / Troy Michigan and needed to eat dinner and decided to skip the hotel restaurant.. most close restaurants were closed, but this one was open. Everyone was kind, genuine and welcoming and Bree was hands down the BEST Server making us feel like we were valued customers! Bree was especially kind to my daughter and sincerely wanted to make sure we had a delicious lunch. I had the deboned chicken with rice pilaf - which is my go to for Mediterranean restaurants. The chicken was cooked perfectly- flavorfully grilled, juicy and tender. Hummus and rice pilaf are my favorites and both the hummus and rice pilaf were hands-down the very best I have ever had in a restaurant in Michigan. The texture and creaminess in the hummus was perfectly balanced and the pita bread -- was outstanding. The rice pilaf was perfectly cooked with actual freshly toasted almond slivers. I used to really like this place, they had good food and really good portions. Last visit was not good at all, about 9 months ago. I ignored it but decided to give it a try again today. The place is doing even worse. Stale food, over cooked dishes. I paid $25 justfor a Veg dinner and juice pluse extra tip. The pita was old, stale and hard. I called and tried to ask for a manager or the owner, they puposefully ignored the call. The portions are getting smaller by the day and the prices are going up, which should have been fine as long as the quality is maintained. Never trying this place again. When you walk in, you expect a less formal menu. Quick and smaller meals. The menu is quite full with small options like sandwiches to fill entrees. I had the Chicken Shawarma which domes with a soup or salad. The quantity was quite plentiful. I was only able to eat half. It was not dry and tasted really good. The wait for two sandwiches on an empty day was about 15 minutes. I ordered first and the guy after me got his food first which is odd. Now to the food: it was a decent sandwich that could've made better at home. I LOVE chicken tawook sandwiches and tbh you could've easily gotten a much better one at Lebanese grill on Rochester or even La Marsa. Extremely small portion sizes for the price you pay. Their $10 "large fattoush" salad could fit into a small salad bowl. I thought that a small was delivered by mistake so I called them. Their answer was " well our large salad isn't that large." The $21 mixed grill was mostly rice and some meat. Very disappointed that they choose to be so misleading to their customers. So I stopped by to pick up dinner at this place earlier. Judging by the "impeccable" reviews, I thought I'd be in for a treat. Wrong!! The portions were EXTREMELY small. Seriously, I can understand inflation and rising costs as im an econ major, but this was quite disappointing and insulting. I ordered a mix grill which came out to a little less than $22. The kabob thickness was about the size of a penny or nickel (if that). It was dry. The tikka pieces were cooked to medium, but also dry. The chicken pieces were also dry. The 3 thin carrot pieces were nuked (black). The meats were flavorless. Lentil soup was ok - I'll give them that. I'm attaching a pic (some food was already eaten) so you can see the quality of the bread. It was hard and flaky. Compared to La Saj and Boukies for about the same price, you're getting pretty low quality eats over here sadly. I have no complaints about the service, nice guy at the counter actually. But, when you pay over twenty bucks, you wanna walk away saying, I gotta pretty good meal out of it. In this case, I felt taken. I wish I had a voice tell me to "go to JJ's or Chipotle" instead. As for all those stellar reviews (who claim "huge portions" and "super fresh"), who knows what they ate, but I have serious doubts. Don't take my word for it. We tried Cedar Grille for lunch and we were not disappointed! We had the hummus Ghallba with Chicken and Chicken Shawarma. Everything was delicious! The hummus was creamy and really complimented the Ghalaba. My son had the Shawarma and he said it was best he had ever eaten! The Icing on the cake was the people were very friendly and welcoming!
