I have never walked out of this place being upset with my food or what I ate. The prices seem to keep going up, which results in me going there less. Employees are friendly and it is a move it along and a nice day vibe. read more

A really nice build-your-own Mediterranean food place! I'm not usually one for this type of food but wanted to give it a try in a more controlled way where I could choose what I wanted and ask some questions. The employee that was building my bowl for me was very helpful and easily could tell that it was my first time. I guess I selected the right ingredients because my bowl was outstanding! High quality ingredients and my chicken was excellent and full of flavor! Will definitely come back! read more

This is one of my favorite lunch spots. Whether ordering for the office or picking up my own, I really enjoy their food. It's an assembly line-style ordering process, allowing you to pick your favorites. I have noticed in the last few months it's gotten VERY expensive. I came in for a single bowl, and it was $20. Apparently, some of my selections, like feta, were extra. I think restaurants really miss the mark when they start nickel-diming toppings. Overall, the food is great and it's fantastic for catering, but it's not an inexpensive lunch option. read more

Food is very good and prices reasonable. You walk along the counter picking out what you want for a bowl or a wrap. Generous serving size. Quick and easy. You can also order online. read more

We ordered delivery from here and the food was actually very good. Arrived at our place on time and was very tender. We had a kebab and a shawarma plate I believe would definitely shop here again. read more

We stopped by for a local school fundraiser with the kids. We got the family feast meal which was more than enough food for two adults and two kids. You can change up the meats to what you like. We had leftovers for a couple days, which is what we intended because we love middle eastern food. This location is different than the original in Berkley. Here you can order it like chipotle where you can make a wrap, bowl, or salad and go down the line picking what you want to have on your plate. Therefore it's totally customizable to your taste. We are big fans of the hummus trio: regular, jalapeño, and red pepper. The only one with a little spice is the jalapeño, which really isn't that spicy. They also pack crispy pita chips so we used those as dippers for the hummus or on the salad to make a fattoush salad. Everything in the meal was good and provided variety for the kids because you never know what they will like that day. The only negative was the rice was a little off that day and had a funky taste to it. Maybe someone didn't rinse the soap off the pan very well. Otherwise goodness fast and packaged well for us to dine in then take leftovers home. read more

I got the build your own bowl with chicken schwarma and pita bread with hummus on the side. I don't know what it is for certain Mediterranean places, but the pita bread here is ass. Pitaway is the same way, despite the name of their establishment. Aside of that, the chicken was good as well as the rice, grilled veggies, hummus, and pickles. It wasn't bad, just not fantastic and a little bit soggy. read more

The food is great. I think this is the best kabob place in Michigan. The family meals are an incredible deal and feed my family of four for an entire week. read more

Best Mediterranean food I ever had. Freshest ingredient, authentic flavors. The red pepper hummus is to die for and so is the finely chopped fattoush. You could drink the dressing. High quality flavors and ingredients. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for, so it's beyond worth it. Officially addicted. read more

Amazing food. Prices went from $12 for a bowl in 2023 to $18 for a bowl in 2025. Insane increase. Anytime I order ahead, it's never ready. I'm waiting additionally at least 15-20 minutes for an order I placed hours ago, on an hour lunch break. The greed of the owners makes me want to boycott all together. read more

Outstanding food quality. Always appreciate Sham serving my platter orders, for his integrity and generosity is resolutely sterling.

This one hurts as I've been going here and to other locations for years and was my go to. I lived on the west coast for years and anytime I came back this was always a stop. The quality and portions are half of what they used to be even six months ago. $18 for a bowl with half a scoop of chicken, undercooked white rice, feta, and olives is insane. It's just not good anymore. read more

When something exceeds my food expectations in one area, it will get heavily bias the overall score. The food was excellent. The quantity was excellent. The value was excellent. The service was fast. You start with the spread which was various, including hummus (different kinds too!) and garlic spread. Then you move to veggies and carbs which they have rice and couscous. You can get both! Then you move to the veggies, and you can get however much, but they can only fit so much. Then the meat, best of which per then is chicken schwarma. That is what I got, and it did not disappoint! Just look at my photo for the amount that I received. $15.xx, which honestly is a great value for excellent food for this day and age. Plus you can get pita on the side. Quick service. will be back. read more

Fantastic food! Service was spectacular and the ambiance was chill. I would highly recommend.

Great flavor and the quality of meat was expectional. Wait time was a little long but he makes this himself and quality cannot be rushed.

I really, really enjoy Mr Kabob. Middle Eastern food is some of my favorite and here, I absolutely love the build your own bowl option. You start with one (or all) of their three hummus choices. Then a base (couscous, brown rice or traditional rice), a variety of veggie options, your choice of protein and a finishing drizzle of your favorite sauce. For my protein, my go to is falafel. It used to be the chicken, but sometimes it's a bit chewy or fatty. Not always, but enough times that it made me steer away. However, the falafel is AWESOME! I'd recommend giving a try, especially if they're super fresh. Can't beat it! Overall, highly recommend. Stop by one of their locations! read more

I've been coming here as a regular ever since they opened up years ago. This is a go to spot for me for lunch, and I love how much flavor there is in the bowls and how it's a great healthy meal I can have on the go or after a workout. Definitely a top spot for me in Troy that I'll continue to go to. read more

Love the spacious location compared to the old one. These guys have endured neighbors with good menus fading away for one reason or another and I gotta give Xpress credit for lasting. The grills are always running, food fresh, and a huge variety of combos. 4 solid stars read more

Updating my review because recently my experiences have been great. I have been going in and ordering instead of doing doordash. This is a solid place for a quick bite. I prefer the couscous over the rice. The rice that I had today tasted a bit off. Sometimes the chicken tastes off too. Sometimes it's cold. I also wish they still had olives available. Overall, the food is yummy and I'll definitely return. The Greek fries are sooo good and you must try them! Also be aware that prices have increased slightly. read more

I enjoy this place. I have been here two times and I have yet to be disappointed. Both times have been consistently amazing. I like the Chipotle style service they offer. They have so many different choices, and you get so much food for your money, I have always brought home tons of leftovers. The food tastes very fresh. I opt for the chicken shawarma bowl with almost every topping. It just melts in your mouth with flavor. One child enjoys the sandwiches while the other prefers the lentil soup and a side of rice. The lentil soup was not as thick as I prefer, but very heavy on the flavor. When we arrived they had run out of fries, but do have sides of pita chips and pita bread. This is definitely a place that satisfies cravings without taking too much time compared to a formal restaurant. Perfect for a quick bite. The staff was super friendly and went way out of their way to make all feel welcome. It is a great alternative to typical fast food. read more

I had a delicious Chicken Kabob Bowl for Lunch, layered with hummus, salad, and cucumber mix. The food is authentic and delicious, made fresh and using quality ingredients. I was so full that I couldn't even eat the pita bread. To wash it down, I had for the first time ever, a savory, crisp, ice cold Ginger Ale; an original drink from this town. A perfect pairing! Trivia: Vernor's Ginger Ale. One of the nation's oldest soft drinks, Vernors Ginger Ale was first served to the public in 1866. The best kebab in Motown, I CONFESS Is at a little place that's hard to ACCESS It's so damn good you'll make a MESS So be careful not to get sauce on your DRESS At least not the spicy sauce, but I DIGRESS It's not the kinda place to sit and play CHESS Or take a hot date to kiss and CARESS It's not a sweet spot to relax and DE-STRESS And the TV never plays Bruno Mars' FINESSE But the food is an unapologetic SUCCESS And you will love it too, I believe, UNLESS You're a vegetarian, to which I say "YES!" But maybe you can try it when you're on RECESS Anyway, I DM'd you my ADDRESS And now I have to go do another Bench PRESS But if you're free later, and you have BREASTS And you're looking for a place to go and UNDRESS You can come over to mine and we'll CONVALESCE Then tomorrow for lunch, MR. KABOB EXPRESS!! WHAT. If you haven't had good Middle Eastern in awhile, and you've Missed-a-kebab in your life, then check out Mr. Kabob. It's one of the best Chipotle-style restaurants I've been to (and I hate Chipotle passionately). If you're sad that you haven't tried it, you're Mr. Kebab Depressed. Definitely one of the best Middle Eastern meals I've ever eaten anyway - and one of the top five meals I've ever eaten in Detroit. Which is saying a lot because this is an amazing food city. If you're quick to lube up your lovers, you're Mr. KY-Jelly Express. Other than pizza this is pretty much the best meal to eat in the region. And it's much better for you. A whole load of absolutely delicious fresh ingredients combined up into a Chipotle-Style Bowl which should be a really really really bad thing except in this case everything they put in it tastes perfect so the output tastes even more perfect. If you're a Trump fan, you may be Mr. KKK Express. Definitely a case of the sum being better than the parts, and the parts are pretty damn amazing all by themselves - I'm talking about the hummus and tabouli and all the bits and Bobs that they put in this thing. Absolute deliciousness. Don't pass up on the garlic sauce whatever you do. If you love California Gurls as much as I do, you're Mr. Katyperry Express. Good service as well, they were really nice about serving me close to closing time, and the prices are extremely competitive considering how much food you get. Also their chicken is absolutely spectacular. It's not exactly Buffalo-style Souvlaki. But it's every bit as tasty. If Mr. Miyagi eats here, it's Mr. Karatekid Express. Reminds me in some ways of Istanbul Grill in Pittsburgh - similar concept and price and portion size. And excellent taste. Although that's more Turkish, and this is slightly more Lebanese. And so good, you'll want to get down on your Leba-knees and worship it. And if you like Barbie's heels, nails, legs, etc, as much as I do, but can only last 5 mins as opposed to 5 (or more) hours, then maybe your new nickname is Mr. Kinky Express. Time to update this review, almost 3 years later! Mr. Kabob Xpress is one of the only places I go to rather frequently. $7 will get you a very, very large wrap sandwich - I usually eat about half and save the other half for another meal - or $8 to $9 will get you a bowl, with your choice of veggies and proteins. I usually get a chicken kabob wrap with garlic as the base, along with some rice, tabbouleh, onions, cucumber/tomato mix, and pickles, and finish it off with the house dressing. This past time I tried the couscous instead of rice, and although it was good, it was a little too tomato-y for me. I had an issue once where my order didn't ring up right and the cashier didn't know how to fix it; she gave me the owner's email, and when I emailed him to inquire about it, he actually refunded my entire meal, which was great customer service. Definitely one of the better Mediterranean places in the area and I love that it's Subway-esque in that you can choose what ingredients you want in your bowl or wrap. Highly recommend. read more

Seriously SO good! I was looking for some sort of fast Mediterranean carryout and this did not disappoint. The staff were beyond friendly and answered the few questions I had. I walked in and placed an order for two bowls, create your own. I was so happy with how fresh all the ingredients were! The chicken shawarma was delicious, all the toppings to choose from give you a huge variety and add so much flavor. The garlic was not over powering, the pita bread was soft and warm. I'll definitely be back again & next time snap a photo of my bowl! read more

We have frequently seen coupons for Mr. Kabob Express in Troy but hadn't yet gotten around to trying it. I needed to run some errands and my wife was in the middle of a project so she suggested I take the coupon for a Buy One Get One Free Bowl along and bring home a carry out. So I completed the errands and headed to Mr. Kabob when my wife texted, not happy, to tell me I left the coupon home. So I drove past the restaurant and went home (about 3-4 miles each way) to get the coupon. I finally walked into Mr. Kabob Express around 12:30pm Friday and found no line. I then realized the coupon was valid after 3pm! It just wasn't my day. As I turned to leave, it occurred to me to ask the young lady behind the counter if she would check with the manager to see if they would make an exception...he said, "OK!" Things were looking up. I proceeded to order two 50-50 Chicken Schwarma and Chicken Kabob Bowls. Their process is similar to other restaurants offering bowls and wraps where you pick a base (Garlic) then add lettuce and a variety of vegetables, rice/couscous, more stuff, then meats, and sauce on top (Tzatziki sauce). I didn't keep good notes on what all went in but the results were delicious. Then I learned that the coupon required two drink purchases...always a catch...so added two Diet Cokes! Total was just over $13 and also included some pita bread. I have to add that the young lady that built my Bowls was super patient with a first timer trying to figure out how their system works and guided me along step by step as pleasant as could be; unfortunately, I did not get her name. But she made an excellent representative for Mr. Kabob. Once I got home, as I already mentioned, the food was tasty, fresh, and filling. Both my wife and I could only eat about half so we put it away and later finished it for dinner. Mr. Kabob Express is definitely doing things right and we will be back, with or without a coupon! read more

Decent Mediterranean food at a decent price average service we went at dinner time so they were busy

I found out about this restaurant through my Lebanese coworker, who said that this place has the best, authentic Mediterranean food. As high as my expectations were, Mr. Kabob exceeded them. My favorite entrée to get there is the chicken shawarma wrap. The chicken meat is fresh and has a delicious chargrilled taste. I've never seen so many options for add-ins in a chicken shawarma sandwich: garlic sauce, hummus, lettuce, grilled vegetables, pickles, couscous, rice, quinoa, tomatoes, feta, chickpeas, pita chip crumbles, etc. Add in as many different ones as you want without additional cost. They are generous with their portions, and it is reasonably priced. I would be remiss if I didn't mention their falafel. Before coming here, I never really liked falafel. First of all, I don't really like chickpeas, and second of all, the falafel I ate was always too dense and bland. They do it right here - it's not too thick, it's crunchy on the outside, and it's seasoned perfectly. I recommend signing up for their rewards program, which is through the FiveStars app. In addition to racking up points for free items every time you eat there, you will also occasionally receive bonus offers (e.g. 50% off any item) via text. Don't be fooled by the generic name. This place has the best Mediterranean food I've ever had, hands down. read more
