Ordered a chicken shawarma salad, shug hot sauce, side of hummus, side of pickled chili, falafel balls, side of cauliflower. $39.47 No receipt, text or email only via the kiosk order and payment method. The greens, mostly the red leaves are soggy and wilted. The pickled red cabbage is decent. The shawarma is so-so. The chicken shawarma salad is average. Chicken and overall salad ingredients are rather salty. The cauliflower dish is underwhelming. Big pieces of flower, not super flavorful. The pickled chili is okay. Great take-out place on 14 Mile and Delemere (just east of Coolidge). It's a pretty nondescript location but the food isn't nondescript at all! You order online or at the electronic kiosk when you walk in. The staff is really friendly and the food reflects the kind of care and attention that I really appreciate. Everything was fresh tasting and well made. Even the take-out bag is thought out - it is a small disposable, insulated bag that helps to keep your food warm until you get home. Very cool! Cool carryout only spot. Ordering was done at kiosk when arriving. Was extremely quick, as food was ready 6min after ordering. Ordered the chicken shawarma pita which was very good. Unfortunately, you only get a half of pita (pics show) for $15 with no side. That said, at the price point these are sold for there are better options in town. read more

Yummy! Happened to see this on my drive home one day. Decided to try it out for lunch since it's only a couple blocks away from work. I ordered online and popped in to their brick and mortar location. They only do online orders for carryout or delivery from this location, but they do have a tablet inside the door so you could theoretically order inside. Lots of food app delivery guys popping in and out while I waited. Lots of parking behind the store as well with easy access to the entrance in the back. I was very impressed with the offerings. Typical pita wraps, but also rice bowls, hummus bowls, and salads. I tried the traditional chicken shwarma pita added hummus and schug (spicy green sauce sometimes spelled zhoug). Was delicious and spicy. The flavors and juiciness of the chicken were on point. I would definitely order this again. They also have falafel, beef kafta, fried kibee, chicken schnitzel, and roasted cauliflower. Will be trying the cauliflower next time in a pita or as a side since that looked really good. Staff was friendly and quick to get my order made once I arrived since it wasn't ready yet. Inside has a counter, a bench to wait for food, and a restroom. Great middle eastern food truck. I love that their pitas have no oil or sugar added and you have the option to turn the menu item into a pita or salad bowl. The staff is very friendly and quick to make your entree. I always opt for the falafel boy - salad bowl style. It is filling but not over the top I stuffed myself. The veggies taste fresh and are all natural and the best part there isn't too much garlic where you can't go back into work, but still enough to have amazing flavor. I had eaten here before at several catered events and I have eaten at the permanent truck located at Detroit Fleat. First of all the pita bread is amazing. Probably the best fresh bread I have ever had for a sandwich in the US. All the other flavors have been on point and my two favorite are the falafel and corned beef sandwiches. I know corned beef seems strange as a pita sandwich but it's really a great spin on this typical Jewish deli type of food. I travelled to Israel this summer and had amazingly fresh falafel/shwarma sandwiches in many different cities. I have to say upon returning home there is nothing close to Pita Post in authentic flavors of the falafel and bread that you will find in Detroit. I have also tried many establishments in dearborn and around metro Detroit and nothing compares to the freshness and quality flavors of Pita Post. Their bread really makes the biggest difference but even the salads are great. Don't sleep on this food truck. I think it tops all the brick and mortar establishments I have tried so far for Mediterranean food. Very authentic, great food, great price. read more

The reviews are raving but I think that ultimately the rave around this place is the scene. It's a cute hangout with nice indoor and outdoor space and food at reasonable prices. Unfortunately, the food is incredibly underwhelming. We got two chicken schnitzel wraps and a side of falafel and fries. The wraps were pretty flavorless, though generously filled. No amount of sriracha or tahini was able to overcome the lack of flavor. The falafel had a lot of potential flavor wise. They are very well seasoned with a good flavor profile, but when you bite through the center, you find the rim soaked in oil. You almost convince yourself the moistness you sense is juiciness, but alas. The fries were pretty good though! Long story short - in an area saturated with middle-eastern, Greek, and "pita pocket" options, take your money elsewhere unless you're going for the scene too!
