Spinach salad
Amanda B.

Update: we had Joshua for a waiter tonight and he was fantastic! Tried some new dishes (DIY pizza w pepperoni, roasted garlic, and mushrooms, which was FANTASTIC, and the spinach salad. Love how much salad you get for your $!) also, meet the owner tonight and he's a delight; he's got quite an establishment!

I had never been to Amici's before and it is the cutest local spot! We started at the bar with a drink before a table opened up on the patio outside - even though it was 85 degrees outside, they had a ton of fans running and the patio was shaded so it was very comfortable! We got the Caprese salad & the Emilia pizza. The Caprese was delicious and perfect for a summer evening, but I did find the greens slightly overdressed. The Emilia was also great, the only critique I have is that it wasn't very warm so I felt it may have been sitting for a bit before it was taken to our table - in all fairness they were super busy, so that could have been it too. Either way, I'll definitely come back to try more on their menu - everything looked so good!

Went with a large group and was intrigued.everyone in my group ordered something different so I got to try a few things. My favorite was the prosciutto flatbread. I'd love to go back again.

This place is very cute and SUPER busy, I highly recommend a reservation. The vibes here are nice for a date or girls night out. They have so many cocktail options but unfortunately no mocktails! The menu is mainly pizza and salad. We got the fried shrimp which was VERY good and a margarita pizza which my husband loved but I thought was just ok!

Charming neighborhood spot for pizza. They have variety of specialty pizzas with unique flavor combinations. We also tried one of the salads and wings which were also delicious. We came in the summer and has a chance to sit out in their lovely patio. The service was very friendly.

Beet Salad with Crispy Goat Cheese

This was the place to be on a Friday night. We ordered the Beet Salad with Crispy Goat Cheese, the Sroom and Grass pizza, and the Vegan Artichoke pizza. The salad was fantastic, with equal portions of greens to toppings, and the goat cheese was crispy on the outside and completely melted on the inside. The Sroom and Grass pizza was one of the best pizzas I've had in a while. Asparagus on pizza is not a common topping, but it enhanced the flavors and added a nice crunch. Now, the Vegan Artichoke was the star of the show. I could eat this pizza every day. It is the combination of toppings that works so well together. Spinach and artichokes already go hand in hand, but walnuts took this to another level.

This place is great. It is the closest thing you will find in the royal oak suburbs area that is very nice and modern but you can also tell it is a hole in the wall family owned restaurant. The appetizers/bread is huge! And the pizzas(pies) are perfect fire cooked and prepared simply. They also give a generous pour on their fairly priced (for the area) cocktails and martinis. During the colder months they do have an outside heated tent space to fit more guests and during the summer it's a patio. Good for a date night or group of friends (6 or less).

The first restaurant I visited while in Detroit Metro. Very cute pizza place with bar. Started off with the Elderflower and ended up having two!! Ordered the Three Pigs, Shrooms and Grass, and the Caesar's Salad. The food was great and the ambiance very cute--especially for date night The servers were very accommodating and friendly. I will definitely return when I visit Detroit again.

Great ambiance, good food. Eastern market pizza with blackened chicken was sooo good! Drinks were good but not strong. Outdoor seating is in rear of restaurant with view of the parking lot but still nice.

I have gotten takeout from Amici's before, but this was my first time dining in! Really nice ambiance, we came around 7:30pm on a Saturday. Dim lighting, high seating, outdoor heated patio, and a super cool bar. Service was great too. I really like their pizza, more of a thicker crust, and the toppings are fantastic. They have great speciality pizza options, it was hard to choose which ones to try! We settled on the 'Pep In Your Step' and 'Shrooms and Grass', both in the smallest size avail. The banana peppers on the Pep In Your Step were such a good acidic addition to the meaty pizza. Also pepperoni cups! Best pepperoni shape (in my opinion). The Shrooms and Grass sauce was delicious, you can really taste the truffle. Definitely recommend! Great place to bring a group to share. We were only a party of 2 so luckily we had a bunch of leftovers for the next day ;)

Our server was so kind and helpful with my husband's odd allergy. They made sure he knew exactly what he was eating. Our soup and salad were very delicious, but very small portions. We both had the kids grilled cheese and then shared a browned butter chocolate chip cookie. The setting is cute and a little quirky. It's not very close to home, so I don't think I'll be back. I did enjoy my lunch and I really liked how it was very clear that the food was fresh and homemade.

It was a lovely experience and the food was for the most part very delicious. Service was friendly and good but a tad on the slow side (not our server's fault, they seemed pretty busy and I think she may have been the only waitress working, so she was absolutely juggling a ton). They were out of the "pretty potatoes" which was disappointing because they sounded super delicious. The restaurant is a little dark and when very busy can get a little loud. The three women at the table next to us were having a very loud conversation (of which I picked up every word) and I could barely hear my fiancé, which I didn't love, so the acoustics are a bit odd. That being said, the decor and vibe is very home-y and everyone that works there was very pleasant and lovely, from the hostess to the man that refilled our waters. We got the charcuterie plate (selected two cheeses and two meats; comes accompanied by fig jam, mustard, sardinian crackers, and cornichons), the caesar salad, the short rib, the arctic char, and the olive oil cake for dessert. All of the food was really exceptional and delicious except I found the short rib to be a tad dry. We each ordered a cocktail, I got a spritzer and my fiancé got a seasonal Pimm's cup-type cocktail that used house-made cranberry syrup. They can accommodate gluten free diets easily which is also a plus. Overall, we will absolutely be coming back!I want to try that Wagyu Pastrami Reuben!

Our server Scott was a sweetheart and the food came out pretty quickly. He even made me a mocktail that wasn't on the menu with grapefruit juice, cranberry juice and soda. My favorite item was the filet tips- the quality of meat was so good and it was seasoned well. It came with some goat cheese, peppers and arugula. I will say that it was a rather small portion of food though- maybe 6-8 bites of meat. The lamb lollipops were good with the balsamic drizzle but I preferred the filet tips since they were leaner. We also got the beet salad, the vinaigrette was good but otherwise the salad was just ok. Edamame was standard. Veggie/hummus tray was fresh. Lettuce wraps were good but had a bit of a kick. Once we made it upstairs, we grabbed bar seating and talked to a few people around us who all said this was their favorite spot. Our bartender was amazing -- super attentive, explained the menu well, and gave great recommendations. We ordered the wings (perfectly seasoned and so good) and the chicken sandwich with buffalo added for a little spice... absolutely delicious. I got the "burnt orange espresso tonic" and a "rosemary biscuit". Both were amazing. The biscuit was warm and buttery and the included jam (which appeared house made) was the perfect compliment. The flavors were all distinct but complimentary and made this into a spectacular treat. The espresso tonic is the best I've had. The flavor was fresh, light and fruity, with the bitterness of the coffee keeping it grounded and sophisticated. I even ate the orange slice at the end. The wait for my drink was probably about 7-10 minutes but knowing that in the future, I'm willing to plan around if the product is going to be this good. I want to come back and try the food but I will make it a point to return the next time I'm on this side of town.

When you need something, it does cause some issue. I sat outside for the first really warm weekend. The table could have used an umbrella. The espresso martini is good. Ordered a Greek salad plus chicken. Just okay for $19. Dressing was good but not standout. For my first time, we ordered a large Mom's House pizza. There is always a concern with tomato on a pizza. With the tomato, cheese, and amount of toppings, the pizza was soggy. Not sure if this is a common issue, or if the crust was undercooked or maybe too much cheese. I deleted the photo. We didn't mention it to the server. Probably should have. Did not want to be that guy though. Took the L. My two patrons ate one slice. I ate two. Threw the rest of the soggy pizza away. I thought it tasted solid, but the sogginess ruined it. The soggy pizza was served without a slice spatula/server - which made the pizza hard to grab. We didn't bother to ask if one was available. I will try another pizza for a second chance. My other patrons would be hard pressed to come back. The soggy pizza ruined their first time opinion. Lastly, the pizza and salad bowl are served on beige, recyclable plates and bowl. While I understand the convenience, it comes across as tacky and limits the ambience. Old pics show the Greek salad presented in a nicer bowl.

I let her know what was missing and she said it was her fault and asked if I wanted it fixed. I said yeah and she went and got a cold piece of cheese and slice of onion and put it on a plate and gave to me to put on my own burger. I'd expected a little bit better service and I'm certainly not someone who demands top tier service from every spot. Fries were crispy but needed some parm or an aioli sauce to dip in. Also minor note but I had some fries left on my plate and when she came to collect plates I had food in my mouth so I couldn't say anything but she took the plate and my fries! They should always ask if there's any food left on the plate. Burger was decent overall, but definitely nothing special.
