Visiting my sister in Detroit and discovered Republica in my search for a gastropub with healthy food choices with good microbrews on tap. This was my top pick. I had a beet burger and it was yummy. The beer was good too, an IPA. I wanted to get the 10th anniversary roasted cauliflower but we were full.. Great place, I'll go back when I visit again. Thanks for making things for health nuts like me. .

I popped in Republica for the first time ever. It's was Lent and lunch time so I went with the Greek salad and tomato soup. The soup was yummy. It tasted homemade and a lot like my marinara sauce. I liked the dressing for the salad as well and I'm quite particular about dressing. The waitress was sweet as pie too! Solid 4 stars. It's not a large space so plan for that.

Roasted Beet and Arugula Salad with salmon.

Such a cute place off of Coolidge in Berkley. They have a wide selection on their menu from shareables to pasta to burgers to soup and salad. Decided to try out the roasted beet and arugula salad. I added salmon for protein and let me tell you, it was delicious! The salmon was cooked perfectly, the arugula has a nice peppery bite with the sweet balsamic vinaigrette and tangy blue cheese crumbles. The wait staff were super friendly and attentive.

Another place too popular for its own good and tries too hard to be trendy for those of us out of their normal demographics and have eaten at much better places for over 30 years. Heard lots of good things and so have my dinning group. Hardy enough parking for the business but I got a place on the street. Very full and even with reservations had to wait. Too noisy to hear people at the other end of table. We started with brussel sprouts appetizer and chip and dip appetizer. Both had stuff left which is not normal for our group. Both not normal served at other places. I decided to try something different since you don't find a sloppy joes on most menu. I was warned by the waitress that the tots were different with cheese in them. Looked like hush puppies but tasted AWFUL even covered in catsup. The joe left an after taste that was not pleasant. I took part of them home but threw them away. The meatloaf was delicious I was told and the fish not bad but the salad was just as much as a "winner" like my choice. Service was what you expect from a place this busy. I don't plan to come back as part of my group.

This was a special event dinner for us. With the knowledgeable guidance of our awesome server, we started with a specially made Valentine vodka martini. We moved on to a fantastic garlic roasted cauliflower with a lovely walnut butter. Our entrees were well proportioned, super fresh, heavenly taste explosions. We ordered the salmon and the shrimp entrees and could not have been happier. Super delish!!! We saved room for a warm slice of cherry pie ala mode. A final blessing of this heavenly meal, the owner graced us with a lagniappe taste of two spirited balms, one honey and one clove. Thank you for a beautiful experience. And with special cheers to mom!

First off, service was great. Attentive and quick. We sat on the patio, which had great shade and a nice breeze. We ordered the fried green beans, Veggie Wedgie salad, beet burger, mint limeade, and a side of mac and cheese. The green beans and mint limeade were good, and toddler-approved. But after that, the food is a bit disappointing. The wedge salad seemed super overpriced for what it was and the beet burger tasted like nothing. I was excited for a bright pink earthy burger with delicious feta topping, but the burger was just brown mush. I could barely taste the beet and the sauce had very little feta. The mac and cheese was fine, but nothing special. I'm not sure we would go back for anything more than drinks and apps.

The service was not very attentive. Not very friendly and the focus was on closing the place, even though they didn't close for 90 minutes. The place was small and eclectic. The burger was average. The fries were excellent. The side of spaghetti squash marinara was the best thing we had and was very very good. The chicken sandwich was simply not good. It was difficult to eat. One half had half of the toppings and the other the other half. You could never get a bite with all of the ingredients at once, so the ability to taste the actual sandwich wasn't possible unless you deconstructed and rebuilt the sandwich.

2.5 stars. It wasn't too busy on a Thursday evening. Food was okay--not too memorable. Not likely to return.

They have a pretty nice size menu with a lot of great options. A cool thing about their menu is their sliders. You get to choose whether you want a small or a full size. The idea is to be able to pick different sliders to choose to eat. I decided on the park bowl which came with white rice topped with sesame seeds, avocado, seaweed, and carrots. I added a salmon fillet. It was so fresh and delicious - and VERY filling! I also ordered the calamari for an appetizer and that was pretty tasty as well. I did have a cocktail, it was OK, I really didn't taste any liquor and it was a little bit more sweet than I would have liked.

I never expect stellar service when you have a big party. The issue I had was the food. It was mid at best. First it came out at all different times which I think is not ideal. I ordered the chicken Caesar wrap and it said it was grilled chicken.... There is absolutely NO way this was grilled chicken, it was canned chicken shredded to the max. That was disappointing because I was thinking it was grilled chicken cut into strips or chunks and then put in the wrap. I assumed incorrectly. For me it was very sub par, for the money I would rather go elsewhere. If you're going just for drinks, then maybe it's a decent spot. I had wine so nothing too adventurous.

The space is smaller but very welcoming and definitely feels like a local hangout spot. When you walk in, the specials board is front and center, including their Burger of the Month, which is what I ordered. Mine featured goat cheese, spinach, strawberry compote, and jalapeños. The flavor combination was unique and really worked well together, and the burger itself was juicy. Personally, I would have loved a bit more char for those crispy edges, but the flavors were definitely there. It came with rosemary fries that were thin, crispy, and generously seasoned. I added a side of hot honey for dipping, which ended up being an unexpectedly amazing combo. The restaurant has a great beer selection, plenty of TVs for sports, fun retro-style décor, and soft lighting that creates a relaxed atmosphere. Even at 9 PM, there were families with kids dining, so it feels very family-friendly rather than a late-night bar scene. Noise levels were low enough that conversation was easy, which I really appreciated. Bathrooms were also exceptionally clean. My main hesitation was pricing. A quesadilla was around $15 and my burger was $20, which pushed dinner for one person with a drink and tip to about $35. While that seems comparable to nearby spots like Boston's, it felt a bit high for casual bar-style dining. Parking is limited, but the location is convenient, just minutes from I-75 and surrounded by other restaurants. Service was amazing. We were sad immediately and she checked back often and said what her favorite thing on the menu was. Overall, good food, creative menu options, and a comfortable atmosphere. With a little refinement and maybe slightly better value, this could easily become a regular stop.

They have a limited menu until more people start coming here, bummer, I wanted the flamin Cheetos chicken sandwich, not on this menu. We decided to just eat some nachos with chicken and then move on from here for our main meal elsewhere. Their chef has only been here a few months. The menu could definitely add some more GF and vegetarian options and maybe some salads with something other than iceberg too. The shareable plates were brought to us. Mine was dirty with something crusted on it. I asked for another replacement. Even though it's in a bowling alley, it's an artisan restaurant. Nothing is frozen and everything is main in house. They even make their own corn chips, which were quite fresh and super crunchy too. The nachos were not warm or hot, the queso was drizzled on top. It actually tasted good, wouldn't have expected it at a bowling alley or escape room restaurant at all. The corn chips are nice and crispy, even after the drizzle. This nacho would be a nice and messy eat while playing some alley rounds. It's definitely an unexpected spot for bowling eats.
