Hands down one of the BEST food I've ever had! Not only is the price good, the menu full of choices but the portions are big. Come hungry for sure or plan on taking home left overs. I tried their Kabob with lemon and oregano and this is now the ONLY way I will order. The chicken is always so juicy and the sauce .... Oh my yummy! Overall ambience is bright and inviting. Warmly greeted upon entering which is a nice surprise given we entered between lunch/dinner time. Provided Pita bread was warm and fresh made combined with garlic paste (mmmm so gooood) set the tone for our salad/soup course. It doesn't matter what you order, the portions are always huge! We ordered what we thought was enough for two people with some leftovers for the next day and ended up with a feast that we enjoyed for several days. I thought I made a mistake because the amount of food for the price was exceptional but the staff assured me this was correct. The food is fresh, delicious and service is fast. Definitely a great choice. Crushed Lentil soup was piping hot and tasty. Bread, garlic sauce and their salsa were also served. Very good. Half deboned chicken ( lemon-oregano) with rice was cooked perfect. Juicy and tender. Rice was standard Lebanese style. Friend had a chicken kafta sandwich that he said was very good, but maybe a little light on the filling. We ordered hummus which was silky and delicious. The portions are generous and seem appropriate for the price. Our Server was a nice young man and we really have no issues except for the light sandwich filling. We will be back. read more

The bread and garlic was one of the best I've had, we devoured the first basket, so they brought us another one with more garlic! I could live just of these two... garlic was super garlicky, yum! I got the Majadara dish that comes with only one side, so I got the lentil soup. Substituted yogurt with tahini. Soup was delicious and nicely flavored with cumin, majadara was also very good. Did I mention the bread and garlic? Hubby got the chicken Sajji as this is something we have not seen in other Middle Eastern / Mediterranean restaurants, and he liked it a lot. Very interesting sauce that is served with it. And the bread.... Portions were generous. We had plenty of leftovers including more bread and garlic.... oh my. The restaurant was very clean. Tried Shish Island recently, and had a very nice experience. Our server was friendly and efficient. Large menu with varied and interesting offerings. I got the quail, which was quite tasty, and a generous enough portion that I took some home. The co-diner got a half boned chicken, with a lemon butter sauce. He enjoyed it very much. Quaint restaurant with excellent service! Stumbled upon this restaurant as a halfway meeting pinpoint for our family. My kids were being extra rambunctious, but the staff was kind and understanding about their energy. Food was delicious. The fresh bread was absolutely devoured by everyone at our table. We shared a quart of smoothie, which was also a big hit. I had the Shish Tawook with rice and a Fattoush salad. The lemon oregano sauce was perfection. We had plenty of leftovers to take home too. My oldest started wandering the restaurant near the end of the meal and was grumpy. One of the restaurant staff found him and placed a chef hat on his head, calling him the head chef. Craving shawarma, I decided to give this place a try. The service was friendly and quick, but unfortunately, the food didn't live up to expectations. The fries were overly greasy, and despite asking for just a drizzle of tahini, my sandwich was completely drenched in it. The decor feels dated and the place could definitely use a deeper clean. First time here with my wife and I, the staff is very friendly and attentive. I usually get kibbie balls wherever I go. I ordered them here received them. They were hot, but I think they deep-fried them too much. They were very crispy and crunchy and a little dry, not what I'm used to. I tried this place for the first time. There's a nice fire oven making small puffy pita breads (yum). The interior is new and clean. There's a counter in the front and tables off to the side. I ordered a lunch special for around $12 that came with deboned chicken, rice, two grilled carrot slices, bread and garlic. It also came w lentil soup or salad so I tried the soup. All were very good. Carrots were tender and great, no black char all over which is great. I dislike when I order grill vegetables and it comes w so much black char grilled marks. Rice has vermicelli noodle mixed in and nuts. Just want to share for those that are gluten free that it has noodle in it. Lentil soup was great. Next time I will come try a sandwich and I also want to try fattoush salad here. There's a lot of competition so if taste is all good, differentiating factors come down to 1) prices/combo availability 2) distance 3) puffy warm bread vs flat pita skins 4) customer service for me! The portions were generous, the meat was tender, the soup was excellent and wants me coming back for the other types of soup, the rice was soft, and the carrots were soft and warm. Placed a carryout to take home to my mom, et al. Mom was craving good Mediterranean since her favorite place closed down years ago. I've eaten here a handful of times, but this was my first carryout. Every time I have been greeted immediately upon entry, today was no exception. The gentleman at the counter asked if it was my first time, I told him no, but it will be first for my family. They doubled my bread order, added a hummus to try, and gave me a larger order of the salsa! Even without all the wonderful extras they added, I walked out with a ton of food! If that wasn't reason enough to return, the food was A-MAZING. All the entrees come with two sides. We ordered chicken tawook, shawarma combo, sajji beef and for sides fattoush, vegetable soup, and grilled vegetables, and salsa. The salsa is some of the best I've EVER had and I love good fresh salsa. The beef was sooo tender with lovely grill marks and a hint of heat from the sauce. I will order it on repeat. The vegetable soup was loaded with vegetables. Chicken and lamb nicely seasoned and tender. I was too full to try the baklava, but I'm told it was very good and not too sweet! Been here 4 times total, 3 dine in, one carry out,. All 3 dine in's were great. Deboned chicken is super flavorful, very juicy and a generous amount of chicken. The lamb kabob was superb, so tender and tasty and cooked to order. The chicken shawarma was very good, not the best we've ever had but still very good, not dry and again a generous portion. Had rice and salad all three times, the salad dressing is very good, the rice is very good and what I expect from a Mediterranean establishment. The best pita I have ever had! The Chicken Tawook lunch special is such a good deal and they have many dishes to choose from averaging around $12 which includes soup or salad. What a delight it was to eat dinner here today with my 2 daughters (ages 3.5 and 1.5). Anita was our server and she went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. We started with a small order of hummus and then ordered the lamb combo. Everything tasted perfect and was cooked perfectly. The restaurant is very clean and very nicely decorated. We loved the music playing as well. Not too loud and created a nice ambiance. It was a spur of the moment decision and I'm always nervous taking 2 toddlers to a restaurant but the staff made it such an enjoyable experience. I came here the other night for carry-out. I have really mixed feelings about the food. The good: the carrots in the grilled veggies were some of the best I've had, savory and al dente. The garlic sauce was strong in consistency and flavor. The hummus was pleasantly garlicky with a silky texture. The puffy oven-baked pitas were soft and warming. The not so good: my salmon filet seemed overdone and dry. The grilled veggies had too much onion in them and I wish that the green pepper seeds would have been removed. My fattoush could have used more dark greens and less onion. My wife's hummus with lamb could have used more lamb. The hummus leaked on the way home (perhaps the styrofoam container should be covered with plastic wrap). Disclaimers: I got carry-out, which may have affected the salmon (though it has not done so from other Lebanese restaurants with similar dishes and distances). Others may enjoy more onions in their grilled veggies. My taste may align to a different Lebanese style (more like La Marsa, Pita Cafe, or Cedar Garden) than this restaurant has. Finally, this review is based on one experience with particular food choices. I have a feeling that there is a lot to like here - props for having the cauliflower appetizer - but it fell short of my expectations this time. read more
