Ordered a small hummus and medium fattoush salad. Food was decent, to say the least. My order was soaked in salad dressing that was leaking from the to-go container. We get the Al Kabob plate, with grilled veggies, large garlic, extra bread and sometimes a Few pieces of the baklava. Everything and every time it is good. Great temperature and flavors. Service excellent. This place remembers your name and order and never disappoints. We get the "Dwight special" at least 2 twice a month and it's our go to when we order out. Until recently, this was a branch of Beirut Palace. Its phone number still appears on the Beirut Palace website. However, they answer the phone as Al Kabob and their menu is quite different (more like nearby Kabob Hut, with which it may be intended to compete). They said that they had been Al Kabob for a little over a month. Given that this is a restaurant in transition, it may take some time to establish its new identity. However, my initial reaction was that it was just OK. Though they took an order for a rainbow salad from the old menu, they didn't prepare it with the same ingredients. It came out like a kind of alternate fattoush, a little disappointing. I haven't given up on Al Kabob but I'm not in a great hurry to try it again. Atmosphere - about average for the area. Kind of boring inside and not very warm or inviting but serves its purpose Food - I had no complaints with the food. Standard pita and garlic butter. Food came out hot and had good flavor. Service - It was ok. Didn't seem thrilled that I was there even though I was 1 of only 2 people there. Didn't check in on me or bring the bill. Price - Main reason for the review. The menu says $3.60 for a sandwich. I order 2 with no drink or sides. I eat and go to pay and my total is almost $15. I say aren't these only $3.60 each. The carry out menus right in front of the register say the same thing. She says oh no they are actually $5... still doesn't add up. Says oh new menus are on the way and you know how prices are going up. I honestly felt like they were ringing up any price they wanted to make more money to account for lack of business. Open until 9 everyday but Sunday, they are a great place for us afternoon shifters to get a meal. This restaurant is not closed. This is the old Beirut Palace. The menu has considerably downsized from the old menu but still enough options. Today I ordered 4 Meat Shawarma sandwiches 3 Chicken Shawarma sandwiches Tabouli and Hummus. All the food tasted just as good as it did under the old name and service was very nice and prompt. We had to pay for waters and the "free" garlic was $6. everything else we ordered off of the menu was 1-2 dollars more than it had stated. Al kabob, used to be Beruit Palace, its the only other authentic mid eastern restaurant I would go to. Not all mid eastern restaurants in Sterling Heights are Authentic Lebanese food. This one is and the prices are reasonable. Great carry out service ready in 15 mins and convenient for a quick sharwama sandwich for lunch. And the great leaves are delicious! This used to be Beirut palace and probably my favorite middle eastern restaurant in town. Was recently there and had the worst service and even get what we ordered off the menu. When I questioned I the description on the menu, i was told there was picture at the bottom of the menu. I was also charged for everything that was supposed to come with the dinner for free. Their food is great but there service is terrible. I order from here several times a week and they mess up my order almost every time. I ask for extra dressing and they do not give me any. I would be willing to pay extra if they wanted. Today I ordered Hummus and never even got it. The Food is good and commensurate to price. My lunch favorite is the Galaba and DeBonned chicken. It came with choices of soup or salad. Had both and enjoyed the salad more.
