Just came in for a drink and check out the place. Nice atmosphere, bar is nice and looks like they have space for live music also. Prices were reasonable, bartender was nice and attentive and food menu looked really nice. Nice selection of liquors and beer. Will for some come back again for some food.

it was warm and sunny fall day, which is the perfect time to hit the outdoor dining scene in Royal Oak. But we wanted to try something new...and Yelp led us here. This place looks like it hops on a weekend night, but we were there for lunch on a weekday afternoon so it was pretty chill. Our server was Jeremy and he was great - friendly, detailed oriented, knowledgeable and attentive - we couldn't ask for anything more. We split the flautas and the fajitas and both were very good. I'm not sure how they seasoned the shrimp for the fajitas, but it was very tasty, which is good, because the chicken was a little dry. Overall, a really positive experience. And I can't forget this: several reviews I read before our visit commented on how clean the bathrooms were. I don't usually cover stuff like that in my reviews but I had to check these out...and they definitely lived up to the hype!

If you're looking for a restaurant that has a wide variety of food options (quite literally nearly anything you can think of) this is the place to go! They have everything from tacos, pizza, french dips, monte cristos, sushi, burgers, shawarma, and more! No one will be disappointed! The many options made it a hard decision--I had originally planned to get sushi but it is only offered after 4 PM (same with the pizzas). However there were plenty of other choices available! I got the 3 taco plate, which comes with a side of rice and black beans. For my tacos I picked the lamb braisin' birria, roastin sweet pork, and the halloumi cheese and mango. They were all delicious--the halloumi cheese with mango one really stuck out to me! There is patio seating which is great for nice weather and there are multiple tables that can accommodate large parties of 8! I will have to come back about 100 more times to try the whole menu and I will!

Tacos (fried avacado, mushroom, etc.)

Blind Owl has an extensive menu: sushi, tacos, burgers etc. I think that's pretty cool to have all of that on the menu. So this is a good spot if you're a Royal Oaker. The prices aren't stupid either. Dinner for two is around average and that's with a few apps, 6 tacos, and drinks. The server was super nice and the restaurant was open and clean... not a bad place to come eat if you're in the area.

Went here a few weeks ago. Ordered the Trio and pineapple salsa, Hawaiian pizza with chicken, Philly roll with added cream cheese and scallions and house salad. $76.75 They do charge 2.9% credit card fee on your bill. Hawaiian pizza is good. Chipotle salsa is good. The Philly roll is yummy. House salad is so-so.

Boom shakalaka burrito

I always go to the one in New Baltimore but was in Royal Oak on a Sunday early afternoon and seen they had a location here. I got what I always get for brunch the boom shakalaka burrito and it was fantastic here as well, actually bigger here! This location is much bigger and had plenty of space which was nice! My server was very good as well! Definitely recommend.

The vibes of the place are nice. It's dimly lit and there are lots of tvs around. Almost like a sports bar, but a little more upscale. The pizza I ordered was okay, but it was a bit on the too oily side. The Swedish salad tasted good. My friend didn't really like her poke bowl though and realized that she only liked the place when she was drunk. So I'd say this place is more for vibes and drink rather than the food. Our server was really nice though and very friendly.

We recently visited Blind Owl to celebrate a birthday with a party of 12. The food was excellent, and the waitress was incredibly friendly and attentive--truly the highlight of the night. The ambiance was nice as well, though the country music playing that evening wasn't really our style. Unfortunately, there was a mix-up with our reservation, which caused some inconvenience for our group. Despite this, the manager didn't offer any kind of gesture to make up for the mistake, which left a bit of a sour note on the experience. Overall, good food and service, but the handling of the reservation issue could have been much better.

This is the Morrie, which closed. Very small private lot, nearby pay street and garage parking. Inside they made the Morrie look more like a club. The new menu centers on Japanese/sushi and Mexican, but the house specials are alfredo and french dip. The food is a little pricey. The bar menu is pricey and the tap list is small. The cocktails are all premixes, but priced as handmade. Service was okay. Not a huge fan. There are better options in Royal Oak and Ferndale.

The sides for the fajitas

The mood was friendly and laid back! The services was pleasant and quick. The drinks were amazing with a twist on old favorites! I had the enchiladas and my friend had the fajitas, we were very pleased with our meals! I would like to go back and try other entrées on their menu!

Pizza is a must have! I love the flavor of the crust, it's very thin and delicious. Definitely add the Swedish salad on the pizza (it comes with each pizza). It adds an incredible crunch and flavor. Pizza is great with or without though :)

The food was bad. I mean BAD. I had to return it. Everything is far overpriced. I'll never be to that place ever again.

What a wide range of choices with all the major types of liquor available in one form or another. My bartender developed the program and she was super knowledgeable about it. Just one burger option and limited toppings. Server was very nice but didn't write down the order, and when it came my burger was missing the cheese and onion. I wasn't sure if they would take it back or what so I didn't eat anymore and it took her a decent amount of time to come and check on us after we got our food. I let her know what was missing and she said it was her fault and asked if I wanted it fixed. I said yeah and she went and got a cold piece of cheese and slice of onion and put it on a plate and gave to me to put on my own burger. I'd expected a little bit better service and I'm certainly not someone who demands top tier service from every spot. Fries were crispy but needed some parm or an aioli sauce to dip in. Also minor note but I had some fries left on my plate and when she came to collect plates I had food in my mouth so I couldn't say anything but she took the plate and my fries! They should always ask if there's any food left on the plate. Burger was decent overall, but definitely nothing special. Environment was cool and I'm sure they have got some other delicious items on the menu but for the price paid and service received, I'd go somewhere else next time.

From the second we walked in, the bartender greeted us like we were regulars, and that alone sold us on sitting at the bar. Best decision. We're bar sitters through and through, and between the bartender, a friendly regular who scooted over for us, and literally every person we interacted with, the vibe was unmatched. I worked in the service industry in a former life, so I know how rare it is to find a place where everyone is friendly. There's usually at least one Debbie Downer. Not here. No rushing, great recommendations, and zero feeling like you're "that couple" taking up bar space. Drinks and beer selection were solid, but let's talk food because ambiance and service are only half the equation. We started with the coney dog egg rolls and... wow. Epic. Unique. Immediately set the bar high. Then we ordered the fish and chips and the short rib sandwich. The fish was perfectly breaded, the remoulade was on point, and those skinny fries were dangerous. But the star of the show? The short rib sandwich. Holy shit. I don't normally eat onions or horseradish, but somehow this sandwich converted me. The caramelized onions weren't overpowering, the sauce wasn't spicy, and everything just worked. We literally woke up the next morning talking about how we need it again. The bartender filled us in on happy hour and all the food options, and we're already planning our return. Total hidden gem on Woodward. Highly recommend. Thanks for a great Saturday night!
