    lychee martini, mai tai

The service was fantastic!! We had a large group with no reservation and they were super accommodating. I had the lychee martini and I advise to stay away. It was overly sweet, I could only have a few sips. The price was laughable for what it was ($17). I've been to cooler tiki bars so this was mid.

We had the pleasure of taking out a special birthday girl for her 21st birthday here. It was not because she was excited to drink, she does not care about that, but for her profound love of Tiki Bar culture and aesthetic. Her favorite place is Trader Sam's at Disneyland and Disney World, and this place delivers on those vibes. First, she loves that this is a speak-easy with a secret and slightly hidden or at least not overtly obvious door. She also loved the decor, it is so quirky and fun in here. I loved all of the little attention to details. I loved the gold skull wall and the shells on an opposing wall. It is a small space and luckily we came early on a Saturday night, because it seems to quickly fill up. We got here before 5:00 and found a good spot. There are places to sit at small tables, which we did, or at the bar. The people working here could not be any nicer or helpful. They were wonderful and really made the birthday special! They have a great and fun selection of drinks but offered to make what ever we wished as long as we knew what was in the drink and if they had the ingredients. There were only two people working a busy bar and they worked tirelessly with smiles and great attitudes. Thank you so much for a fun time! The birthday girl does not care of alcohol but they have the most delicious mocktail on the menu which she enjoyed two of them. It was very delicious, you don't even need anything more, these drinks were perfect. We did order some of the cocktails off the menu though. They were good. Plus they made us a Disney private island drink that my husband likes to order. We ordered plenty of snacks from their menu, and everything was delicious. Although warning, the food is small, but I could see ordering snacks every time. We tried three bao, the chicken, pork belly and shrimp. I liked the shrimp the best. We also ordered some hand rolls, the shrimp, avocado cucumber, and spicy tuna and the salmon. The rolls were fresh and yummy. I liked the salmon and tuna rolls the best. We did have reservations at Tigerlily, so we left but returned at the end of our night because they do sell some of the tiki cups and we got a "snowman" that looks like it is made out of sand and shells, so adorable! We are happy to have visited this Tiki bar and plan on coming back soon.

I wanted to love this tiki bar hidden inside Tiger Lily. The decor and music are spot on. Bartenders are friendly. Prices are fair. We ordered a Jungle Bird and a Saturn. The blackstrap rum tasted so cheap. The "passion fruit purée" that was supposed to be in my Saturn was nothing more than juice. I had hoped for high end ingredients since the bar is well curated. I see good bottles behind there, but feel the junky juices and mixers ruin the drink. Please use good stuff Mai Tiki. I am a big tiki nerd and want to support you. On the food front, there are no plant based options. Oh, Nevermind. $7 edamame. Shishito peppers for $9 could be served sans bonito flakes. ONE veggie roll could be included but wasn't. Kind of a bummer. Hoping to see this spot evolve and I'll come back for more fun.

Really fun tiki bar/ speakeasy inside of tiger lily! They have a small menu of tapas as well. The bartender said that the menu would be changing soon yhou Crab Rangoon- real crab, I think? Good either way. Salmon tacos- made with raw sushi grade salmon, not for me but good if you don't mind raw fish, the taco shell was made out of wonton material. Pineapple- tasty grilled dessert with caramel and nut drizzle on top. Pork belly bao buns- this was my favorite app, the meat is so flavorful and I love the texture of the bao buns. Negima chicken thigh- too fatty for my liking. Waygu- a little spicy

I love this tiki-themed speakeasy at the back of Tigerlily! As if I couldn't love Tigerlily enough already without the existence of this speakeasy! There's an entrance to the speakeasy by the bathrooms in the back of Tigerlily and the door is so flush against the wall, you truly can miss it! Once instead, it's a small, intimate space that is tiki-fied and they have delicious, classic tiki drinks that can be ordered, along with many more bite-sized items that you might find on Tigerlily's menu as well! This place is wonderful and I don't believe they take reservations, so it's perfect if you wanted to eat at Tigerlily, but either couldn't snag a reservation or you're just looking for some small bites from there! Try out the hidden gem that is Mai Tiki instead!

This was my first time in, and what a cool little place that everybody likes but nobody talks about because they want it for themselves. The drinks are strong and delicious, the bartender was very helpful on what we should choose by our likes and dislikes. The atmosphere is definitely total tiki with a great vibe. If anything was out of place and they had music bingo on Thursday. I know it was probably to bring a little bit more clientele however it just doesn't fit in that atmosphere. You have to go check out the secret little bar in the back of Tiger Lily in Ferndale

Such a cool find! Speakeasy vibe tucked inside Tiger Lily. Definitely has the under the sea theme town complete with a shell wall. Also my personal favorite was the Pedro Pascal cardboard cutout??? Super yummy pain killer- the drinks had cute cups and fresh fruit. Great for post dinner fun

Love the concept and the fun glasses. Tried an assortment of drinks and while they were good, none really blew my mind (it feels like they're maybe not using the best liquors?). Service was good, and fairly quick on a Friday evening. The food was so-so (definitely much better out at TigerLily), except for the chicken karage which was delicious.

Just a little hidden bar inside of Tiger Lilly, Mai Tiki, creates a fun island vibe with all the Tiki style drinks. I would suggest an after dinner cocktail to top off a fun evening. There are plenty of options inside for cool photos. Nothing like a selfie with a Tiki God in the background! Lol

Such a secretive low key entrance, you enter to Mai Tiki from inside of Tiger Lily. You are transported to a tropical destination immediately with all the decor and ambiance. The drinks are refreshing, fruity, and strong in their unique tiki mugs. I was surprised they offered food so I had to try one of their poke bowls. The hamachi poke was fresh and the rice was seasoned with seaweed flakes. Also tried the sweet potato fries with the yuzu aioli but did not get a picture of it. The yuzu aioli is a perfect drizzled sauce on to of the fries adding a tangy component too it.

Was a fun place to grab a drink with friends. We entered from the back and couldn't find the door at first, but it was super fun to figure it out and enter the topical area of TigerLily. Drinks were great and all came in fun cups! Friends got food and said it was delicious.

It's just something artificial about this place that throws me off. I mean yes, it's suppose to be a beach bar/club vibe in the middle of Michigan. It might be the lighting, decor, but Mai Tiki really tries to be a IYKYK-type place but really it's just a closet space hidden inside Tigerlily. The space is visually appealing on surface, very Instagrammable indeed, and inevitably you pick a drink based on their unique vessel. What you don't realize is that no matter the drink you choose, it's gonna be 98% ice tbh. Though initially tasty and made with some exciting elements and ingredients, ultimately the drinks fall flat as they dilute in the ocean of delicious hospital ice. I just want more drink, less ice, right? Cool enough place and I guess another unique choice in downtown Ferndale, just don't expect to feel anything after spending damn near $20 a drink lol.

Absolutely here for the ambience! Such a cool place to go for a quick drink with friends. Always love making this my first stop as they have the best unique drinks. The bartenders here are super nice and helpful when it comes to ordering. I love the decor and all of the different glasses they serve the drinks in. Good vibes 10/10 would definitely recommend stopping in to anyone going out in Ferndale or Royal Oak

As we followed our greeter to our table I kept screaming in my mind "no no no no no not that table no!" and she sat us at a table in full blasting sun. Nevermind the fact that there was a whole shaded section in the back part of the patio area. The rest of my group said it was fine and a beam of sun slowly bore a hole through my chest. Drink orders were up. I ordered a fabulous cross between a Moscow Mule and a Mojito. A+++ for the drinks. Mine was loaded with fresh mint from their garden. Same grade for our waitress who explained the drinks in detail and ended with "ugh- are you sure you want to sit at this table straight in the sun?" The other two said it was fine. I was ready to move, but was out voted. She continued to check in regularly and brought extra water. Most items on the menu were hot. I considered the fish, but we all landed on appetizers and we would just bounce from place to place for bites and drinks. We ordered the charcuterie board and the lavender lemon whip with bread and cucumbers for the 3 of us. The charcuterie board was the large version and had minimal offerings. It wasn't full and pretty. It was little piles of each thing on a board. This one definitely wasn't making it into Better Homes and Gardens magazine. There was a little pile of mixed nuts, a little pile of lose green grapes, a little pile of lose red grapes - not all grapes pristine or large and none were on the vine. There were 3 little piles of cubed cheese and 2 types of sliced sausage and sliced pepperoni. There were 8 crackers that were wheat thin size. This matters because we had some onion jam on the board and a nice serving of mustard. There really wasn't anything to put them on except for the 8 little crackers. That part was weird. These weren't elevated offerings. I could have picked up any of these at Walmart. They were not elevated quality either. We also got a lavender lemon infused whip which was their answer to tzatziki sauce. It was excellent but again, we were given so much of the sauce without a bunch to put it on. The cucumbers were sliced lengthways and there was a lovely bread that tasted like sourdough. There was 6 pieces of bread, and these were not particularly large pieces. A lot more would have been needed to use all of the sauce they gave. The proportions were off. All together the bill was over $100 for the 3 drinks and appetizers. If I ever did go back I won't order food based on what I experienced. There are too many other great options within walking distance.

I let her know what was missing and she said it was her fault and asked if I wanted it fixed. I said yeah and she went and got a cold piece of cheese and slice of onion and put it on a plate and gave to me to put on my own burger. I'd expected a little bit better service and I'm certainly not someone who demands top tier service from every spot. Fries were crispy but needed some parm or an aioli sauce to dip in. Also minor note but I had some fries left on my plate and when she came to collect plates I had food in my mouth so I couldn't say anything but she took the plate and my fries! They should always ask if there's any food left on the plate. Burger was decent overall, but definitely nothing special.
